I've wanted to add something to this for awhile but honestly couldn't think of anything except clothes fitting better. BUT! Today I saw it! It has probably been this way for a little while but I just didn't take much notice of it. While I was walking this morning I looked down at my feet to make sure my form was good. And. . . Ready? Drum roll, please.


I did not see my stomach protruding further than the "girls"!

That is a big victory for me! Hope this isn't TMI! (too much information)

I eat what 2B fixes however I am not a diary type guy.. Her menu is always tasty and healthy..My job keeps me on the go full time so my heart rate is up most of the 8 hours I am at work

Such diverse and interesting comments and plans which is great!
I first said that I was going to do the "Eat to live"plan by Dr. Fuhrman.
However as I delved a little farther I find that would be far too restrictive for me. I will however cut way back on fats, since all calories are not equal. Eating only fruits first thing in the morning is how I got two stomach ulcers just a few years back so I won't be repeating that.
I will continue to eat lots of fruits and vegetables as we already do but incorporate more bean dishes in Lieu of meat dishes.
Also started keeping a food diary to see what is working best for me .

I do the SP tracking for calories and nutrients. I am very slowly dropping the weight and I don't have to ban anything from my menus. I just figure anything I consume as part of the days nutrition. I will add exercise as soon as I am cleared by the foot surgeon.

Today the 5% Summer 2017 challenge was launched and I'm on the Spirited Under Dawgs team. This is a specific team challenge where other team members are united and encourage each other for 8 weeks. There are several teams under the challenge and we are racing against each other on a weekly basis. 1 minute of exercise = 1 "mile". We have 7 days to reach our "destination" which this week, we are " traveling" to Easter Island, which is located over 9,000 miles away. There's still a chance to hop on board....here's the link, but it expires at 11:59 pm in your time zone.

emoticon teammates, emoticon I am on Eat to Live plan like Betty's sister! And I'm swearing too emoticon it makes good sense to eat the way our body were made to utilize essential nutrients. Our body produces cholesterol so we don't need it form animal products emoticon We need mother's milk as babies but we are not baby cows (calves) so we don't need cow's milk.
I read Dr. Fuhrman's Eat to Live. I heard about the high nutrient plan years ago but I thought I wasn't eating that much meat. The GI Distress didn't start till this year and more frequently past 2-3 months. Miralax/Duclax relives constipation but I don't want to take drugs/ supplements everyday. My husband, Balsy, grew up vegan in India, adding dairy then eggs when he moved to USA. Occasionally eating meat outside the home, which we will continue. I will have the Miralx/Ducolax as after dinner drink (to avoid any GI distress) ! I guess I was eating way too much on animal protein, since I was the only one eating the chicken and fish. Eating animal protein on special occasions will be okay if the most of the time I am eating nutritious food, 80/20 is the plan! Thanks for the heads up Betty! ... I did not know he recommended a full pound, but in chapter three, he said to eat TWO big green salads a day. I think that can be done for me, as I always eat a large green salad w/ lots of other veggies and drink Green drinks every day, which are robust in all he recommended. But I see what I can drum up at dinner time too. emoticon I do know it is going to be good to say bye bye to cheese, and mayonnaise and red meat plus oils. Thanks and good to see you are happy with your plan. Good deal!

Well as of July 1st, I will keep following my low carb/high protein diet. I use several plans combined, include the American Diabetic Diet, plus I'm trying more and more to mainly vegetarian. I use recipes from Spark, Weight Watchers, Eating Well and Cooking Light cookbook.

Jan, just a note, my sister in law who is a total vegetarian, who eats very very healthy, and only does organic produce, she is on the Dr. Fuhrman's Eat to Live plan. She said it was really hard to eat a pound of greens a day. But she swears by this diet. Now that she has cleaned out her body of toxins, she says that once again her body is now in tune. So it will be interesting to see how you like this diet.
