It's great to see all the new BLCers and returning former members. I'm looking forward to another great round of the Biggest Loser Challenge and can't wait to invite you all in to BLC34 Summer Camp 2017.

Your leaders are there now getting your team chat threads ready for you. It won't be long now. By this time next week you will be joining your new teams and getting to know your team mates.

We've been having fun here getting to know you with the Questions of the Day and showing you some of the things you might be doing once BLC34 begins.

Some of the things I love about sparkpeople and the BLC are, first and foremost, the friends I have made and the support and encouragement from everyone. Just know that we are always here for each other. If your are having a bad day, don't hide away but come here and share your feelings. We've all been there. And if you are having a good day, let us know. Be proud of your accomplishments. And never, ever beat yourself up for slip ups. Just pick yourself up, dust yourself off and start all over again.

We don't expect you to be perfect. None of us are. Something you will hear over and over again in the BLC is PARTICIPATION not PERFECTION.

Another thing I want you to remember is when you first join the Biggest Loser Challenge, it can be a bit overwhelming at first and seem like a lot to take in. But, again, we are all here for you and don't be afraid to ask questions. One of the reasons we try to get everyone in a week early, is to give everyone a chance to get to know how things are done and to get comfortable with the team and the BLC before the real challenge begins.

So if things seem a bit daunting, just take a deep breath, relax, you've got this, and never, ever, ever give up.


TRIED TO CLIMB THE MOUNTAIN TODAY.


I tried to climb the mountain today. As I inched my way up the path, I felt overwhelmed, so I had to turn back.

I tried to climb the mountain today. On my journey, darkness started to fall, and I was full of fear, so I had to return to a safe place.

I was ready to climb the mountain today. But it was so hot outside, I thought I better stay in my nice air-conditioned house and rest up for tomorrow's attempt.

I was about to climb the mountain today. But I had so many other things to do, so instead of climbing the mountain I took care of much more important tasks. I washed my car, mowed the grass and watched the big game. Today the mountain will just have to wait.

I was going to climb the mountain today. But as I stared at the mountain in it's majestic beauty, I knew I stood no chance of making it to the top, so I figured why even bother trying.

I have forgotten about climbing the mountain today; until a friend came by and asked me what I was up to lately. I told him I was thinking about climbing that mountain some day. I went on and on about how I was going to accomplish this task.

Finally, he said, "I just got back from climbing the mountain. For the longest time I told myself I was trying to climb the mountain but never made any progress. I almost let the dream of making it to the top die. I came up with every excuse of why I could not make it up the mountain, but never once did I give myself a reason why I could.

One day as I stared at the mountain and pondered, I realized that if I didn't make an attempt at this dream all my dreams will eventually die."

"The next morning, I started my climb." He continued, "It was not easy, and at times I wanted to quit. But no matter what I faced, I placed one foot in front of the other, keeping a steady pace. When the wind tried to blow me over the edge, I kept walking. When the voices inside my head screamed "stop!" I focused on my goal never letting it out of sight, and I kept moving forward. At times, I was ready to quit, but I knew I had come too far. Time and time again, I reassured myself that I was going to finish this journey. I struggled to make it to the top, but I climbed the mountain!"

"I have to be going," my friend said. "Tomorrow is a new day to accomplish more dreams. By the way, what are you going to do tomorrow?"

I looked at him, with intensity and confidence in my eyes, and said, "I have a mountain to climb."

I was feeling creepy this morning, I have the Hashimoto's disease, poor circulation and I am overweighted.
My doctor gave me an ultimatum. He says I must change my habits... so I was almost crying and remembered Spark People and then I remembered this awesome challenge, so I decided to do my best... and here I am... PLEASE HEEEEEEELP!!!!

The last 6 months have seen me questioning which way am I going in life. So I have been bumping around in several areas. I lost 20 pounds in BLC 32 on sparkologists team and had fun!

LIfe is a bit more settled for me now with a moving forward plan.

I have been on spark since its' 2nd or 3rd year. I started BLC teams around round 9-12 as a PPP (purple pound puncher). Looking forward to a new team, new insights and new and old SP friends.

Motivate and define your goals for best success! Lists are a great way for me to succeed.

So typical...making good choices with food, tracking my food, and exercising more, I step on the scale and I'm up 1/2 lb. No worries...my shorts are loser, and the rest will follow...but it still irks me. emoticon

Hi! Just signed up for the challenge. I'm not sure what to expect (or what I was thinking, tbh) but here I am. I'm excited, and nervous, but mostly excited!

I've been on SP before, but let myself conveniently "forget" about it for a while so life could run me over a bit. I've been back since April, and have lost 10lbs. I think this BLC will hold me far more accountable and kick my butt into a higher gear.

I had an attack of my Multiple Sclerosis about 4 days ago. Will call my neurologist Monday morning. Kinda fearful they'll put me on steroids because that causes me to gain weight, but it always stops the attack very quickly. I pray everyone had a great day.

I kind of fell off the edge of the earth sparkpeople-wise at the end of the semester, and wasn't sure I was going to be able to do anything with the BLC, but as I ended up having to drop the first class of the summer and have a little time to focus, I've decided to get "back on the horse" so to speak. I've been a Magnificent Midnight Mustang the past several rounds I've participated, but I'm thinking I need to shake things up a bit so am looking to be placed elsewhere for the summer, we'll see how it goes!

Missed the Wednesday pot but I am already down by 2.4 points. I was 159.6 on Wednesday and on Friday I dropped down. Plan to keep losing at least 1-2 pounds every week if possible and be down another 2-3 pounds by BLC-34.

Elona, the WEC was not mandatory. It's just a way to pass the time as we wait for the doors to open to BL34 and also it's to give an example of what to expect.

You will find out your assigned team once we send out the invites to BLC34. We are still in the process of registering and placing members on teams.

The plan is to close registration on May 27th. Invitations to BLC34 will be sparkmailed on May 29th. When you get your sparkmail, there will be a link to the team. The first thing you should do is click on Join this team. After that, scroll down the page to the TEAM CHAT THREADS Forum and you will see the topic TEAM PLACEMENT BY INDIVIDUAL. Click on that and there will be an alphabetical list of team members and team assignments.

For the Weekend Challenge bonus points, if you track your meals in a different tracker (My Fitness Pal, Weight Watchers, personal notebook, etc.) you still qualify for the Bonus Points.

So I maxed out the points for the WEC yesterday, and have started good this morning, did 30 minutes on the elliptical and 30 minutes strength training, Excited to be getting back on track. My weight had increased a bit over the last few weeks, but glad to report it is now moving in the right direction!

Hi, my name is Cindy. I had lost a lot of weight in the last 2 years, this year kind of got off track and gained a little bit back. Glad to say, that I am back on track, journaling in myfitnesspal and exercising. Weight is trending back down. I will be making a big move from Nebraska to California in the summer, I leave on June 12 and start a new job on June 19. I will be living with my parents as they need help and my husband will stay in Nebraska for this year while we save money to move our things and my daughter graduates from college next year. So will be a challenge, but also time to spend on me.

emoticon 40 min. walk indoor track at Rec. center (18 min./mile) and 30 min. cardio drumming class...total calorie burn 476 cal! Now time for a shower...Happy Thursday!!!

I wasn't able to get on my computer yesterday but I am going to jump in on this challenge. My weight has been creeping up on me ( I lost 34 lbs. this past winter due to illness) and this will hopefully give me a head start on BLC.

Happy Wednesday – In the BLC, Wednesday is better known as:



Every team member must weigh in and post their weight according to their team’s guidelines. Some teams use a tracking thread on the BLC team page. Each member of those teams would create a post to log their weight and would edit the post each week putting in their current weight. It might look something like this:

Your team captain will let you know where, when and how to post your weight each week.

One important rule to remember: Weigh-ins MUST be posted in your team tracker by midnight in your time zone every Wednesday. Late weigh-ins will not be accepted.

Since the end of BLC33, I've been slacking off a bit and my weight is starting to creep up. It's time for me to get myself back on track. Starting right now, I am determined to stick with my exercise and nutrition plan.

I do a lot of walking on my Wednesday.......start off early in morning with hubby with our 23 min walk.......then do some gardening in the yard.......later off to my thrift store and walking the store (even if slower) I'm there for at least 3 hrs!!! So I would say I did over the 60+
