emoticon MELONSCALE and VICKIJOCOLE! So glad you are on the team. It feels a little lonely around here right now but I love the idea of this team! It is a big deal to finally reach ONEDERLAND!! Taking it slow and learning to treat ourselves kindly will be key! This is a journey that requires simply one step at a time! emoticon emoticon

Hello. I've been trying to get out of the 200's for over 4 years. I just turned 28 in October, and have decided to make my 28th year, my year to commit to health. I am currently 231.8lbs and am giving myself a year to lose the weight. I'm taking things slow and steady and am taking the time to think more about what I'm putting into my body, and am working on getting more daily exercise. I'm glad I found this page, because this is definitely the place for me! Good luck to one and all...we can do it!!

I am back....This morning the scales said......206.8.......I was down to 186 a year ago and after my mom died I changed my eating habits and guess what....I gained weight. My weight has been a YoYo for the past 12 months. gain 2 lose 1, gain 3 lose 1...you get the pattern.....Today I am starting to track everything, watch my calorie intake and exercise more regularly.
I am hoping to be under 200 very soon and keep losing and get to my final goal weight of 155. I am not all sad or defeated. I went from 275 down to 186. I just have to watch more closely.

Hi Team, my name is Susan and my first short term goal I have set for myself is to reach ONDERLAND!!!! I have set realistic mini goals in order to achieve this goal by January 1st! That means a loss of 16 pounds for me to reach 199. I haven't seen that number in a long time!!

Hi Everyone!

I'm Kat and I'm new to this group, but I've been lurking around Sparkpeople for a few years now. I just moved out on my own recently and I don't have a scale, so I don't even know my numbers right now, which is really scary to me! But in August I know I was around 230 or so, and that's definitely NOT where I should be. I'd be happy to get back to where I was in high school, but my ultimate goal is 145-150 pounds, maybe more if it's good muscle mass instead of fat :P

I look forward to connecting with you all. Best of luck on your way to Onederland!

Hi, I'm Carolyn! The last time I was 200 pounds, I was just about to graduate college 5 years ago. I'm super excited as I've already starting fitting back into my college clothes.

Hi Everyone I am Michelle~

I am not new to this weightloss game or Sparkpeople, but I have a renewed sense of where I want to go. I have not been under 200 pounds since 1996 when I was pregnan for my first child, and I will get back there again! I need help and motivation to get there, because I know I can't do it alone.

THANKS!

Hi I'm Actionherofox. You can call me whatever you want. I'm 24 and weigh 271 and am 5'10". The doctor says a healthy weight for me is 160, so that's what I am striving for. I admit to a food addiction that was derived from a place of guilt. I always felt I was being rude if I didn't eat what was put in front of me. When I was a kid we didn't have a lot of food so I ate what we had. Now that I'm older I'm trying to correct my bad habits and also trying to re-frame my ideas about food.

Hello there, I am Jessica. I thought I would go ahead and introduce myself. I joined spark before but took a 1.5 year hiatus. In that time I got married and had a son. I have since lost the baby weight, and my next goal is to reach onederland. I have about 20 lbs to lose to make that happen, but am determined to get there. I find that I am much more motivated when I break my goals down into shorter ones that I can reach more quickly. 20 lbs seems so much more attainable to me than 90 (what I am looking for overall.) I hope to be able to offer support as well as receive some, since I know I can get off track when I feel I am the only person in the world trying to do this.

Hi all. I'm Sarah in Edinburg, TX. I joined up with SP last year but let myself get way off track. I'd lost 16 lbs on Nutrisystem but have gained it all back. I lost track of the fact this is a lifestyle change and not a diet. My goal is to starting reading the SP book again, track food and exercise and to review my goals. I'm doing the No Excuses Workouts challenge 14 with Jonathan Roche. Like SP he focuses on setting goals and giving yourself points when you do them. I haven't weighed myself for a few weeks but at my last diabetes/thyroid appointment the scale read 237 lbs. My blood work came back good but my cholesterol had gone up a bit again. So like others I need to get my mental state back on track. I liked the message today that said we need to feel self worth and self respect to succeed. Good luck to all of us on this journal to health.

Hello, everyone. I'm Carrie from Oswego, IL (about an hour SW of Chicago). I've been on SP since July 2011, and started at 310 lbs. I'm close enough now to Onederland that I've started really focusing on it. I changed my ticker to the just "Overweight" BMI for my height (5'8"), because I haven't decided what my final goal will be. SP has really changed my life, and now I'm starting to prepare mentally to be at a healthy weight for really the first time in my life. I did get down to 187 13 years ago using a "Physician's Weight Loss" program, but a pound of that was the gall bladder I lost when I started to incorporate food again after only using the supplements. I'm really motivated to get to Onederland!

Hi this is Sylvia from Manitoba Canada ( just north of North Dakota) - I joined sparkpeople beginning of this month. I'm 4"11" and weighing in at 205. I"m down from 220 since January of this year. Moving slowly toward my goal of 140 pounds. I'm tracking my food, keeping a journal and I go walking and do Biggest Loser and Bob Harper DVD's to burn calories. My goal is to get under 200 by May 1.
Your messages and blogs help keep me motivated. I'm always looking for new ways to use this site so send tips!
Biggest challenge is staying active daily. Coming up with too many excuses to do something else so I'm looking for motivation to stay on track - small goals at a time to get to the big goal.

Onwards and UPwards!

Hi everyone!

I've been a lurker for quite a while but I thought it was finally time to introduce myself. My name is Sandy and I'm from Arizona and 29 years old. I joined this team because I really need motivation to get below 200. I've been over 200 lbs since I was about 18 and I'm really looking forward to getting down below it. I'm glad I'll get to get to know all of you through this team!

Hello everyone. I just joined Spark in December but I haven't been able to be that active due to my internet going down. Just wanted to say hi and I will check in when I can. My internet will be up on Feb 17 so I will be more active and motivating then. Best of luck everyone. I said goodbye to the 240's this month. On my way back below 200 for the first time in 10 years.

Hi Guys!

I've just joined this team because I need that extra bit of motivation to get below 200 pounds. Several times in the past, I've made it all the way down to 202, just to screw up and start gaining again. My other teams have slowed down some these days, and I'm too close to give up now!

Last August, I weighed in the high 230s. Then I walked and calorie-counted down to about 225 by Nov. Then, I "yo-yo-ed" back up to 232 by Christmas. Since Dec. 26, I've been calorie-counting, walking, and working out when I can...and getting sick (first a stomach virus, and I'm still getting over a case of bronchitis).

Despite the down-time due to illnesses, I'm very pleased to weigh 215.5 as of today, but worry that I've lost this weight so quickly that I'm going to have to endure a long plateau before the scale goes down again.

Plateaus come and go, so if it's to be, fine. But I'm not great with patience, so having this team's help to see it through to get below the 200 pound barrier is exactly what I need to stay focused on getting it done!

Looking forward to "meeting" You All. Wishing You Success on Your own Pursuits!

Hello my name is Jenn, i have been a member for a year but havent really begun to utilize it til this year. I weight 210 pounds now and would like to get down 30 lbs by March, and 50 pounds by next year. I have been fluctuating in weight badly since i got out of college in 2001, and this will be the 3rd time i have gone over 200, but not my heaviest....I tried the weight loss pills and Vitamin B injections, worked GREAT on weight loss, but gained anxiety, high blood pressure and hair loss....so now I need to go the more traditional route, diet and exercise. I hope to be motivated by everyone here so i can in turn lose weight and motivate others! :)

Hi, my name is Meghan. A couple years ago, I used sparkpeople and lost 40 lbs (half of my overall goal). I started struggling and completely fell off the wagon. I nearly cried this morning when I realized that I had gained all but 3 of those pounds back. I'm now at 227 lbs. I'm nervous about doing this again. I know how hard it is and how slow it can be at times.

I don't have any great wisdom with respect to eating with health issues, but I might be able to give you a partial answer on the physical job. Exercise / working out specifically focuses on getting your heart rate up to the good range and keeping it there through the time of the workout. Generally, with a physical job, we aren't pushing to get our heart up and keep it up - we're just more active in general.

If you go looking for what your calorie range is, on many sites you have to pick an activity level. They start at sedentary and move up through light activity, heavier activity, and on up to athletic levels. Your job may mean you're in the lighter or heavier activity range, which can give a small increase to your maintenance level of calories, but it doesn't necessarily focus on and help you develop lean body mass.

And sometimes knowing that we're more active, knowing we're allowed to eat more because of that, we eat too much more. Tracking can definitely help you there.

Hi I'm Cindy.
I have been struggling with my weight for 20 years now and enough is enough! I weighted in today at 253 and that makes me sick since I had gotten down to 237 not so long ago. My goal is to get down to about 170. That will give me a healthy BMI and should take care of some of the joint issues I have from being heavy for so long.

I have several health issues that seem to interfere with my progress and I don't know exactly how to get a handle on them. I have several severe food allergies so my diet is a little strange. I can't eat grains. So I eat a lot of fruits veggies and meats without much starches. You would think that I would drop pounds like crazy (and I did for a while) but my body "panicked" and I've begun to put some back on (more like a lot).

I work as a house cleaner and CNA while I put myself through school towards my degree as an Osteopathic Doctor. I haven't learned enough at school yet to apply to myself yet so I hope that Spark People will help me. You would think that with a physical job like mine that I would get enough of a work out to burn through calories that I take in, but it doesn't seem to be the case.

I was faithfully using Spark when I first joined and have slacked off. I need to start watching my foods and calories more closely and maybe that will help as well.

If you have any words of wisdom that might help me get back on track or just keep me going I welcome them. I look forward to getting to know the people in this group as I work my way back down under 200.

Hi I'm Ramona. Today I weighed 218. I cannot wait to get down to 199! That will be the first time since between 1976-1979 that I have weighed less than 200! 18 more to 200! This is the 3rd time I have been on SP. I've lost 60 pounds since my initial sign up in 2008. Working towards a healthy BMI.

Start with small steps and momentum will build. Celebrate moving in the direction of increased happiness now! With a plan and persistence moving towards your goals all things are possible! Adopt an attitude of gratitude. Be thankful for everything you have. It may not be what you want be show you're thankful for it anyway.
Live, laugh, love and find joy in life, Ramona

Hi My name is Melissa this is my first time doing this, I'm hoping joining this team helps me find more support and helps me keep on track with my diet and life changing goals. I'm open to any help and tips anyone can give...I have been doing this new diet/life change for about 3 weeks or so and have onlost a total of 5.4 pounds, its a little discouraging but I have not given up. I have a lot more to go, about 53lbs to reach "onederland" but alot more to be in a healthy weight range for my size...
