Welcome! I'm a novice swimmer, just started learning this year. I'm just trying to figure out the breast stroke and butterfly stroke, so I might take you up on your offer if I can't figure out how to coordinate all the moving parts.

Tried going sweets free and only got to four days. Not ready yet.
Trying again.

Welcome Molly! We are always excited to have experienced people like you on the team so we can learn and ask questions. Check out the drills forum and also the challenges forum to see if anyone is asking questions on technique. We also often get technique questions on our daily chat thread. Knowledgeable answers are always welcome!!!

Hi and welcome to the team! I'm not new to Spark People but still fairly new to swimming and may very well take you up on your offer to answer questions since I'm just getting far enough to use my swimming for effective cardio.
Hope you'll have a lot of fun getting back into the sport. I guess it's like anything you have done for a long time, your muscle memory is still all there. emoticon

Hi! I am Molly and I am new to the team. However, my swimming career goes back to 1979! I was a swimmer as a child, and a lifeguard/instructor throughout high school and college. I also have about 15 years coaching with a national-level YMCA team. After some time off from the sport, I returned to coaching and teaching this past summer. Along with working at the pool (awesome.....), I got myself back into the pool, for a couple miles a week!

My goal is to continue to swim throughout the winter, since I have my 7 year old on a winter swim team now. Hoping I can have pool time as well!

Anyway, although I don't want to step on anyone's toes, if anyone has stroke technique questions, or workout questions related to swimming, I would be happy to help out!

The Joy is in the Journey!
