Gritty, glad you joined the team. It is not very active right now but if you will check some of the information that MZZCHIEF put up it may help.

I have had hypothyroidism for over 30 years and Hashimoto’s for several.

Do ask questions and hopefully someone will answer them. I will try but no promises. What can be frustrating is there are so many variety's of Hypothyroidism as you probably already know.

I am a 48 year old high school special education teacher. I am married and have a teenage daughter. I have a dog and three cats. I walk every day with my dog and enjoy the early morning walks with him before work.

I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism 23 years ago and Hashimoto's about 3 years ago. When I was young I took Levoxyl and then when that was not available I took synthroid. I spent years educating myself and found a doctor that actually listened to me and now I take nature thyroid as well as many supplements.

I have tried using the AIP diet and that helped with a little with my symptoms, but I found the diet so restrictive that after 2 years I stopped. I still struggle with many of the issues I always suffered from and I am now trying intermittent fasting with a more modified AIP diet. I am focusing on eliminating dairy, gluten, and highly processed food and focusing on quality fats.

I have found out that I now have hyperparathyroidism. I had never heard of the parathyroid, but I guess the "cure" is to have them removed, which is not going to happen until the pandemic is over. The symptoms are many and can be of concern.

Anyways, I am happy to be here!
