Great thing about being young, is you can still lower your risk of obesity related diseases to the risk level of someone that has never been fat in their life.

Good luck with the program :). Hope it will help you make a fitter you.

I have not run a 5k, ever, and I signed up for my first one this April. I am just on week 2 of the C25k. I went 2.7 miles today (jog/walking) in 45 minutes so I am feeling ok.
Maybe try to decide whether or not you think it is a realistic goal for you. I know that it is great encouragement to have a goal coming up...

One more very important question.....I am looking at a 5k that is 5/8/10, this is about 9 weeks and a few days away. Should I register for this one or is it too close given that the program is 9 weeks? Should I give myself a few more weeks in there in case I need to repeat a week! Thanks!

Hi everyone! I'm Becky, I'm 25 yrs old and have an almost 2 yr old little boy. I love looking at the posts for this team, so inspirational! I used to run cross country in high school, but always close to last place! But now I'm sure I can't even run a full mile! I want to do the Couch to 5K to get back in my running shoes! Thanks so much, I love all the posts! And hopefully fat girls can run! Because I'm definitely in that category!

Hi! My name is Kimberly. I'm 23 years old and I have a one year old daughter. I used to be on a track team (way back in middle school) but I haven't done much running since then. I'd love to be able to complete a 5k someday, but I have a long way to go.
