I've been using the ellipical & treadmill but running was something I always avoided. After I read many of the blogs & threads, I was inspired to try running and realizing I am never too fat to start. I downloaded the Personal trainer 4 weeks to 1 Mile, & then plan to carry onto the Couch to 5K. I'm already eyeing a 5K marathon in Massey, ON in mid July and the Run for the Cure in October. I completed w1d1 on Monday, and will be doing w1d2 today....it's set up with a rest day in between. I will walk though for at least 60 min on my rest days...I weighed my self this am...and seen results with a 5lb drop finally...although my 'official' weigh in is not until the 8th! emoticon

Welcome to the team! I'm always excited to welcome new runners, especially ones that don't see themselves as runners. You will be amazed at how much you can do when you try. When I first started, I would cry after almost every run. Not because it hurt, but because I had just done something that I didn't even know I could do. It made me want to challenge myself in other areas of my life. The say when I woman runs there are two in the race, the woman she was and the woman she will become. I love the woman running makes me.

I started the program tonight. I have been jogging/walking on the treadmill for about 4 months now. This was a little slow to me because I'm used to doing intervals for about 45 minutes. Do you think I should just follow the program or do you think I should do something different? I don't feel I have the stamina to run for an extended period of time yet. I am really excited to have support in my exercising efforts. It makes sticking to the program so much easier.

I decided to join this group after reading about the program. I have never been comfortable running. I get worried and tense and end up physically tensing all my muscles, which makes it harder to run, so running has never been on my "to do list". But today, after reading about C25K, I decided to give running another chance.

I have been working out at the gym for about 6 weeks now, but I have only been walking on the treadmill. Today, I decided to crank up the speed and see if I could run at all. I ran for five 1 min. intervals, with walking breaks in between. I was surprised and pretty happy. I thought I was too heavy to run, so being able to run several intervals in a row gave me confidence that I will be able to do the C25K program. Count me in!
