good luck!!!sorry no advice here,i did it last year and got to week 7 and got sick and had to stop
started again yesterday thought it would be a breeze to start again ha! boy was i wrong :)

Are you only running or do you do strength training as well? Strength training will build muscle and help strenghten your joints, tendons, etc. If you're stretching and warming up I'm not sure why your legs would be 'locking up.' Also, if you're running on concrete, that is definitely not good on your legs, so make sure you have a really supportive shoe. You might also think about your stride and what part of your foot hits the ground first. I usually try to aim for the whole foot hitting at the same time instead of landing on my heal. It's helped my knees a lot and my legs can go further for longer. Hope this helps!

Maybe slow it down a little and focus on breathing to get your mind off the legs. emoticon

Not sure about the legs freezing up, but you can get the weight tickers when you go you edit your page. Good luck and welcome!

I am so glad to have found this group. I have been studying the couch to 5k program for about a month now and decided to start today. I got half way through. My breathing was fine but my legs were not cooperating. It felt as if they were freezing up on me;Like locking up... Other than that , and sucking down a few bugs, :-) I did pretty good.

Any advice or suggestions on how to keep my legs loose? I warm up and stretch so I am not sure what is going on.
How do I get one of those cool ticker thingys?
