I so hear you on that! I had every intention of losing the extra weight right after my daughter was born (she's turning 9 in Feb) and here I sit. Ugh! I never wanted to be the "fat mom" but I am. I'm going to change it in 2011 and now the kids will just have to see the work it takes if you make the wrong choices with food and exercise.

I am 47 and my DH is 52 and we are in the process of adopting our 5th child. If you adopt transracially, there are no age restrictions.

I am very disappointed with my weight and the fact that I let it get so out of control. It bothers me a lot that I will look back on these newborn pictures some day and always see how heavy I was. All I can do, is take it one day at a time and work on getting healthier.

As I read your comment, I am soooo sorry that you are so down. I remember being where you are and I KNOW for a fact that God is the author of our lives if we let Him. He knows you and loves you and created you and your desires. If you want to know more about the ONE who knows all let me know and I will pray that you and your precious sweetie and hubbie can bond and begin making life changing moments. I think you are possible going through the hormonal swings of being a woman in your 40's....9 is a GREAT age and opportunity that only rings once to seize and bond with your lil girl that will turn to be lil lady soon. Let me know if you want to chat...will pray

Hugs to you!!! I could say the same about my weight. It just isn't moving down and I know it's my commitment level. I am more determined than ever to make this the last time I say "Starting over." I want to be done with this and be near or at maintenance!

And more hugs to you about your emotions concerning wanting more than one child. My dd is almost 9 and she was our miracle 'bio' that we were told we'd never have. I suffered way too many miscarriages and then we chose to go the route of domestic adoption. Our son is now 6 but that road was full of emotions as well.

Definitely get involved with the team challenges and even the chat. You'll find great support, encouragement and a place to vent when needed! We're here for you!!!

Hi, I've been a member for a while now, but I'm just so discouraged that I cannot stick to losing weight. I don't even know myself when I look in a mirror or at pictures. I'm a late in life mommy - I have a 9 year old - I'm 49. I really wanted more children but I was told I could not have any. I should be happy with one healthy girl, but I cannot get over having just one. My daughter keeps wishing she had a brother or sister. I'm just eating myself away in sorrow. Sorry, I just had to say this to someone even if no one is listening. emoticon
