Hi, my name is Thaís and I just started in this journey again for this past week.
I am a 33-year-old Brazilian that has moved to Sweden 2.5 years ago to live with my boyfriend. We got married this last March and now want to have kids... but I think I am too fat for that and it would probably not be healthy for me or for the baby.
I started at 123.4 kg (272 pounds) and I am trying to change my "always munching" habit into something healthier.
I am also looking for supportive spark friends so that we can take this journey to a healthier life together and support each other.
Anyway, I am glad to be here!

Hi all, I'm not "new", but was on hiatus for a couple of years during stressful times. It's good to be back on Sparkpeople and checking in with the best team ever!

Hi! I'm Anne, and like many women here, I'm new to the group but not to SP. This time around, I'm hoping to make some SP buddies to help keep me accountable. I'm tired of going it alone, and I want to be able to help others get to where they want to be, too!
Happy Friday, all!

Hi :) I'm Amanda...I'm not new to SP but I'm new to this team. I became active on SP again on April 1st. It seems that most of my old friends have become inactive on the site so I'm looking for new ones to help motivate/encourage me! So this is the longest I've ever actively dieted and exercised, so far I've lost 20lbs. My first goal is to lose 100lbs which would put me at 207lbs but ultimately I'd like to get down to 150lbs. Hope all of you are doing well...feel free to add me as a friend if you want :)

Good Morning! I am new to this team, but not to Spark, I have been on here before. Started back again to lose weight and be healthier. Sick of all the quick diets and pills to try and lose weight. Now I am trying to take control and eat sensible and be healthier.

Hi all, back on the rollercoaster emoticon I feel like I keep reintroducing myself after starting over.

I'm really tired of starting over, 40 is looming over my head (turning 37 this year) and I want to be there to watch my daughter grow up and have kids of her own someday. I don't want to be an embarrassment to her. I want her to have a mother she can look up to.

So yes, once again, I'm DONE!

emoticon everyone! I am an old time sparker (since 2009). I've started and restarted (and restarted and restarted, etc.) this journey too many times. Even after a health scare in 2014, I still didn't pay attention to the kick in the rear that I received. Well, I guess this year's trip to the dr, all it took was that trip up to the dr's scale and found myself at a weight I literally could not believe (not ready to divulge yet, but let's just say it was more than double my college weight). I still can't believe it! Anyway, it finally put me on a path toward certainty. I lost 20 pounds the first two months, but a bout with depression and anxiety stalled me for a moment and I regained 5 lbs. Well, I'm back...with a vengeance!

My self-prescribed program was simply adding a veg or fruit (or both) to every meal and packing my snacks so that I didn't mindlessly emotionally eat. I also picked up my old habits of strength training (which kept me trim until I hit adulthood), and walking after work. I am looking forward to the warmer weather to walk outside, as right now I am confined to the mall. I am prone to major mood swings which have sidelined me in the past. I am learning to walk it off, literally. Whenever I feel the flames being fanned, I get up and take a walk. I also loaded a tabata timer onto my phone and I do 2-3 minute intervals throughout the day to keep my metabolism from stalling out. I workout best in the morning, as long as it's not at home, and I'm scrambling for an alternative, as my original location is no longer available. As far as my eating habits, I still indulge, but I no longer binge (thank YOU JESUS!). I have learned how to do what I love in moderation, enough to still stay within my daily caloric limits. Hopefully this time, I'll continue on the journey! emoticon

Hi everyone,
I started SP 10 days ago. I've been changing my eating and exercise habits since September and hadn't lost a single pound or inch. Since joining I've found that I wasn't eating enough and I wasn't getting enough nutrients. Since joining 10 days ago I've lost 3lbs!
A little about me:
I've been married to my husband since '96
I have 5 kids and a 2 year old Granddaughter.
Hiking, reading and doing puzzles are some of my hobbies.

New here! 31 (on Sunday) wife and mom of 3 boys. Started making lifestyle changes about 6 weeks ago, but am in need of more motivation and encouragement. My plan has been to do it "slow and steady" and make changes that I can continue to keep up with forever, as opposed to hitting it "balls to the wall" (hope that doesn't offend anyone). I have been walking with a friend, cutting back on eating out (which is really hard for me), and trying to make better decisions when it comes to food without depriving myself. Hoping to start some new exercises soon and to find some new recipes (which is hard as I am a picky eater).

Hello, I'm Kelly!

I recently joined SparkPeople (not for the first time!) and am so glad to be here. I am 28, a stay-at-home mom, and ready to work and finally rid myself of this weight!

I'm looking forward to getting to know you all as we work toward our goals together. I'd love to have a buddy or two (or more!), to help support each others efforts, so feel free to stop my my SparkPage and add me as a friend!

See you around the boards!

Just started on SparksPeople. I have struggled with my weight for most of my life and I have finally committed to losing it. I expect it to be a long battle since I am a Master's student who has a job so it does not leave much time for fitness. I am looking for a weight loss buddy since my family is not close to help me stay on track

Hi folks!

Again like others, I am trying Sparkpeople again. After some health issues, I really need to get it together. Like eating the elephant, I'm starting with small bites and focusing on the first ten pounds.
