Hi all- I have a question. I have been working out like nobodies business- I had a work out routine, that totally works for me and it includes strength training and cardio everday. about 20 mins weights and 20 mins cardio. My question is, the fitness tracker seems to only be counting my cardio points and not all the strength training I'm doing. And let me tell you I'm sweatin my big ole behind off when I'm doing the weights so I know there are calories being burned then! I need all the points I can get so can anyone help me with this? Maybe I'm doing somethiing wrong. Any help would be gladly appreciated :-)

Loosing weight is hard to do. It took me years to gain my weight, so I have to realize it might take years to loose it. Easier said then done though! I've lost over 40lbs and left sparkpeople for a while but I have managed to keep most of what I have lost off. Even when I fell off the wagon. I started out really small - 5 to 10 minute workouts 5 times a week. It was not much but I did it! I tracked my food, drank at least 8 cups a water a day, and made small goals & rewarded myself for following through. Every day is a challenge, heck, every meal can be a challenge. I'm going to screw up and make some bad choices but I don't limit anything (just the amount of it!). After meeting my small goals day after day, week after week I felt and seen results. It's not quick but it works and your on the right track. You can loose the weight!

I have been on SP since 2007 and while I am still close to my starting weight I am proud of some of the changes that I have kept such as drinking 64-100 oz of water a day and instead of eating when i am emotional or bored I take a walk. Not to mention doing all this time I work full time, in school full time and full time mom to my boyfriend daughter. It can be done. lately what has worked for me is squeezing in 10-15 minutes of exercise and when I am studying or doing homework every so often i take a break to strech or march in place. I love pursusing a bunch of different spark pages and reading blogs for inspiration but it I were to recommend one spark page I'd check out JensFitJourney. Like so many people on this site Jen is awesome and a huge inspiration.

It can be done - too bad it isn't easy - right?? I wish it was easier! But that just means that when it happens it is so much more worth it. Just know that if you set your mind to losing the weight you CAN do it!!! Feel free to friend me - I'll be happy to give you motivation when you need it. Trust in yourself!!!

hey guys. i've been visiting this site for a while now, literally years (my old usernmane was jonesygirl82). and in those years i have only gained weight and never really committed myself to loosing weight. i mean - i WANT to loose weight. it's no fun being going from 120 lbs to 256 lbs, but i never really put in the effort. and i realize it's because i don't really BELIEVE it could be done. i am a nursing student/part time nursing assistant/mother of two/wife of a traveling husband with no time and an elliptical in the basement. i feel like there's no way i can really make this work. i need help. no - i need motivation.

i was hoping you guys can share some of your favorite inspiration spark pages/stories. it doesn't matter if they've lost 100 lbs or 5, i just need to see something to give me hope :(
