Hi all wanted to stop by and introduce myself. My name is Michelle and I live in Canada, I have three great kids a wonderful boyfriend and love life in general :) The only thing that I don't love is my weight lol. I have been battling emotional eating and boredom eating for as long as I can remember (currently I am on the losing end of the battle) I am ready for a change ! I look forward to getting to know new people who share my struggles and know what this battle is really like :)

Hi - New to Seussville but feel like I fit right on in emoticon

I am re-starting on Spark after a successful 2013 where I lost 30 pounds, but unfortunately I gained 5 of them back. I've been batteling those five pounds for month now and it is time to get serious again and get back on track. My long term goal is to lose another 70 pounds ... and I need some help and support to do it!

I'm Margo, what a wonderful idea this theme is! McElligot's Pool has great personal meaning for me so I'll incorporate it into my work here. I am around 125 pounds "overweight" but am in my mid-60s and don't think folds of hanging skin (I could not have the operation to remove/fix them) would be an improvement :-) Right now I'm merely working on fitting clothes better/easier, not having to buy them at the fat people's store.

Hi everyone! My name is Michelle. I must have signed up for SparkPeople a while ago, but I have really only been actively using it for the past few weeks and love it! I'm back! It's been a few years since I walked these halls. This time I'm going to the finish line and beyond. I've lost 20 pounds, just a smidgen of what I need to lose, and I can tell the difference between with that extra 20 and without. emoticon

I am sorry for your loss! I totally understand as I spent the last 3 plus years taking care of my mother and just lost her the end of February! It was so easy to spend all my time taking care of HER and totally disregard MYSELF!!! I gained big time and am working to get if off now. I am having a really hard time trying to figure out who I am now. But I'm getting there! It's just been a whole lot harder than I ever thought it would! If you ever need anyone to talk to, please look me up!!

Hello, my name is Susan, I'm 56, live in southwestern PA, and I'm back to spark. I joined in 2007, had slight success, and in the process of taking care of my mom, gained back all that I had lost. I used her illness as an excuse to allow me to swallow my emotions with food and to stop taking care of myself. Well Heaven decided it needed another angel the week before thanksgiving, 2013. And I decided I need to get back to concentrating on me. I have lost 50 lbs since then, and I need support to continue. I have never seriously asked for any help from any of the groups I was in previously, but I am hoping I can help others as they can help support and encourage me.

Great achievement requires great perserverance.

Hi, I'm Jessie.

I am in my mid thirties and have been obese since my mid twenties. I have been married to my husband for almost 14 years now and together we have 4 boys ages ranging from 12 years old to 9 months.

I am new to the team but have been with spark people since 2008. Been off and on due to lack of motivation or pregnancy. Last time I was on I lost 45 pounds then I got pregnant. I have gained 10 of that back but still have over 100 pounds to get rid of. I am looking for challenges and even an accountability buddy.

This is my first week on Spark People and I have managed to lose 4.2 pounds this week. I have always had a weight problem and I think this site may be the answer to my prayers. emoticon I know I have it in me to do this but I guess I have never really had the motivation to do so.

New to this group. I have been on Spark for awhile, lost some weight slowly, about 45 pounds. I am over 50 years old with another 80-100 pounds to lose. Right now I am stuck. The past year has been challenging. I had my left knee replaced in September, the right replaced 5 weeks later, in October and my wonderful husband died suddenly 6 weeks later, the day before Thanksgiving. I am missing him a lot.

I am physically able to do more exercise than before with my new knees. I can walk for the first time in years. Today I walked more than 10,000 steps. I work out in the water to strengthen my knees and hired a trainer to build strength and endurance.

This team seems like a good place for me.

Another thing that has helped me keep steady (60 pounds lost since October, and lots and lots of strength gained) is to try to get at least 100 SparkPoints a day.

I just read a blog about bare minimum. (Thank you Serene). She set her bare minimum as Log In and Track Every Bite. She made the commitment to do that every day.

I think once you feel a small amount of success... you'll crave the feeling and want to continue. So take that first step.
