They just upped me from 75mg to 88 and I'm still wiped but not as much. But I still feel like it needs to be higher

I have been on levothyroxine since 2009 and it does take time to get used to the medication and to make sure the level you are on is correct. I was still feeling fatigued (and honestly still am but still can get things done) I was then diagnosed with sleep apenea about a couple years. Which honestly isn't helping one bit either. Since my late husband had a thyroid condition as well I finally got a referral to see an endocrinologist to see if there was anything deeper that way. He did explain the level of medication I was on was working since when I looked at my chart on line it seemed way off to me, so I understood it a little better at least. Just work with your doctor and let your system get used to it because sometimes that's all it might take but if it isn't working then talk to your doctor about it.

I've been on this medication for only three days but I feel even more exhausted. And I am having hot flashes. I'd this normal?

Thanks for the info. My doctor doesn't know much about nutrition. You have a lot of discipline!

Hi! I was diagnosed with hypo late December 2012 and was put on levy immediately. It didn't really help and I had some of your same symptoms. Not the liver issues, but the others. No matter the dosage I never felt much better. My thyroid improved, but I didn't feel like I was improving (if that makes sense). I finally made the personal decision to go off my meds and regulate my thyroid with diet, excercise, and a regulated sleep schedule. I have to tell you after almost 4 months of doing this I feel amazing! I'm slowing but surely losing weight and I don't feel sleepy at all, except on the nights I don't sleep well. I'm not perfect at this, but I'm getting better everyday. My diet is almost 100% gluten, soy, dairy, and sugar free. Like I said, I'm not perfect, but I'm getting better.

All that say, have you talked to your Dr. about your diet? I just did lots of research and went a more holistic route w/ my diet because, no Dr. I talked w/ really seemed to know much. From what I understand unless you go to a specialist they don't know too much about the thyroid diet. I find a lot of helpful information here... http://www.healthfulelements.com/about/jil
l.
She has our condition and I've really learned a lot from the way she lives.

I hope this helps in any way. I'm not in any way suggesting you go off your meds, I'm just sharing what has personally worked for me.

Hi. I've been taking levothyroxin for about 10 years.
My energy level is fine.
I take magnesium supplements every day, because I noticed,
from my food tracker, that I was often short on magnesium.
Shortly thereafter, Dr. Oz covered this issue on his Dr.Oz Show.
He mentioned that a good many people in America do not have
the " get up and go " energy, because they have a deficiency
in Magnesium.
I believe that he recommended 500 mg/day of Magnesium.

Hi, my energy level is 0. I am on levothyroxine but still feel tired and get easily out of breath with very much exertion!

Is anyone on T3 meds plus the Levothyroxine. Do you have fatigue being on just the Levothyroxine???

A good web-site for info is Stop the thyroid madness.com

Hi there! I actually had some of the most disconcerting tingling sensations when I started my synthroid medication. I described as the feeling of bugs crawling over my skin, and for about three months I panicked that we had a bed bug infestation (which, thankfully, is not the case, and hopefully will never be the case!). It began to go away as my doctor and I worked our my proper dosage. From my experience, I would say it's not an unheard of reaction, and that if you give it some time, it should settle down. :)

I remember my hands tingling as my body was adjusting to having thyroid hormone again.
IMHO having undiagnosed hypothyroidism causes injury to your body at the cellular level and it will take some time for your body to heal. You'll notice all sorts of different changes, I had been in menopause but started having periods again and my kids and I are amazed at how warm my hands are now. It took about 18 months before I felt "normal" again. This will take some time and you may feel worse before you feel better, but believe me the journey to good health is well worth it! :)

I have not had a liver issue but I have chronic Lyme Diesease.

Have you ever been tested for lyme by a lyme literate doctor. ??? Regular doctos will not test or diagnose correctly.

Diagnosis of lyme is a clinical diagnossis or supposed to be. Igenix lab where you can send a blood sample does the best testing for lyme.

Let me know if you want more info.

Take care
Nancy

I was just diagnosed with hypothyroidism in November. My Tsh was at 33. Doc put me on generic levothyroxine 88 . Went in 4 weeks later and my Tah dropped to 7.9 but my liver enzymes went up high. Changed me to Synthroid and upped my dosage to 125. I go in this week. Has anyone ever had this liver issue? I am also now having issues with hands swelling and tingling .
