I'm always hearing about cats and Christmas trees. My cat Pussass couldn't be more disinterested with the Christmas tree, he is such a chilled out cat and he takes everything in his stride

I have an artificial tree. A couple of years ago, I bought one that wasn't as wide, because I had to set it up in a room I could close off from the cats when I wasn't around. The one I had before was way too wide--it would block the doorway. Now, the cats don't fool with the tree, but I still put it in the same spot. It has the lights already on it. It takes about 10 minutes to set up--20 if I'm careful about getting the branches 'just right'.

We normally have a live tree but this year used our fake fiber optic tree. It was nice but just not the same! Next year...real ball tree!

I live in a condo and have a small 3 ft fibre optic tree, which I decorate. I also have an artificial 6 ft white flocked Christmas tree in my storage. I have been trying to decrease the stuff in my storage and that big tree will be going to Value Village in the new year!

I have to say that while I love the smell of a pine or spruce, it's just not practical in our house. We have a small house and I don't want space taken up with a tree that the dogs and cats would probably worry about. I have a small fibre optic tree that I can add some small decorations to that sits on a small table in the corner of the room. It;s pretty to look at and it has a wonderful light display.

I have an artificial woodland tree and I keep it up all year...
In the house for the holidays and in our enclosed pavilion the rest of the time.
I love going in there to read by the fire and have the lights from the tree on.

I would love to have a real tree BUT...

1. I'm saving a tree
2. there are only 2 of us here and we go to visit the Grands over the holidays.
3. Easy set up and removal and NO messy needles
4. It's a Bitch (oops) getting old !

PS...There's nothing like the smell of a fresh cut pine tree ! That I Really Miss !

Have an artificial one, but not happy with it. It keeps DH from hurting himself. I can put it up--and usually do--by myself. He cut part of a finger off one year, over ten years ago, trimming a tree and it is rare to have a real tree since them.

We went back and forth this year on what to do. The both have pros and cons. But in the end, a nice tree place opened up about a bock from the house, so we went with live tree this year for Christmas.
What about you?
