Well I am done with mine as well. A generous donor (and honoree) wrote a check for the minimum amount. I am not stopping there either.

I've already introduced myself but I just wanted to share the good new, I've met my fundraising minimum! Of course, I'll still continue to collect donations but I'm super stoked not to have to stress over it anymore and just fully focus and concentrate on my training. I'm going for a PR this year!!!! How's everyone else doing with their fundraising?

To all our new Team in Training participants. Welcome. You are in for a treat. It is a great organization.

When your training gets tough - think of my friend Chris. He was diagnosed with Hodgkin's disease in April of 2009 - and completed his first marathon in 2010, a year and a month after his diagnosis.

Today I submitted the paperwork for the greater cleveland triathlon - at the completion I will have my third triple crown.

Hi everyone

I just recently joined TNT and am looking forward to my kickoff tomorrow! I will be running the Minneapolis Half Marathon as my first TNT event. I've been running for about a year now and kept seeing the purple shirts, eventually I just had to check it out. I'm very excited to be a part of this great organization and can't wait to really get started.

Since I probably am the one with the most events - planning the 15th this summer, I want to welcome the most recent members of the group. If you have not done team in training before - this is an awesome organization and being part of it will not only help change the life of others, but the experience you will have will change your life as well.

Hi all!
I am new to TNT but not new to running. I joined TNT in honor of my sister in law who has been battling leukemia for almost two years and is now stage 4.
My grandfather was also diagnosed last week with lymphoma and is too weak for treatment and it at home with hospice care.

Cancer needs to go!

Hi PINKCASHMERE09 welcome to the group. I have not done any of the hikes. Our chapter doesn't offer them.

I sort of had an idea today. If I sign up to the Greater Cleveland Triathlon, that would be an opportunity for my honoree's to see me cross the finish line, and get my third triple crown.

Hi! A LOT of years ago I did the Century Ride around lake Tahoe. Thought it was about time I got involved again, so I just signed up for the Grand Canyon Hike in May. We haven't even had a kickoff yet, so I don't know every detail, but I'm excited!

Has anyone done one of the hikes?

Hi everyone. I'm not new to TNT - I walked the Disney half in Orlando in 2005. I discovered TNT after losing my mom to Lymphoma in 2003. I had been away for 6 years and just recently signed up to run the half in New Jersey in May 2011.

Good for you. It will be an amazing experience and you will be blessed over and over by the entire process from training to fund raising to your actual event! I just finished the Nike Women's marathon Oct 17, 2010 and I am so pumped up. It was the most amazing thing I have ever experienced and I have made amazing new friends of all ages. I have learned that I can train, raise money and finish a marathon. Did anyone else participate on Sun?

Haven't been here a while - I hope everyone's fundraising and training is going well, and if you did an event - I hope you did well. If you are new to team in training - welcome - this is an awesome organization.

My friend Chris who was diagnosed with lymphoma in April of 2009 and ran the Cleveland marathon in May of this year (he was back playing basket ball when he had two cycles of ABVD left) called me and 'conned me into' run the Columbus marathon with him. (I guess I am an easy target), so I am heading to Columbus in October.

I just signed up for the Team In Training and will be participating in the Los Angeles Rock N' Roll 1/2 Marathon in October....buyers remorse...freaking out! The 50-60 extra pounds I'm carrying are making me very nervous about the journey but I'm hoping that combined w/SP I'll be just fine!

Hello, TNTers! I am currently training for my third event with TNT - the FAU Triathlon in Fort Lauderdale next month. I have previously run the 2002 San Diego Rock 'n Roll with a Connecticut chapter and the Disney marathon this past January with the Palm Beaches (FL) team. What a great organization!!!

My name is Meg and I'm currenly living in Stuart. Looking forward to getting back and active on SparkPeople...I stopped logging in for a while when my computer crashed, but I'm back up online and ready!

Oh, yeah! It's totally possible. You are in for a great ride. I've done 3 marathons before with TNT, Honolulu, Vancouver, and Nike SF, all as a walker. I took a couple years off, had a baby (did the Country Music Half as a "civilian" with my husband while pregnant--and wished I were doing the full...), but now I'm back and hoping to run the Country Music this spring. Excited and terrified pretty much captures it. Mostly excited though. Any other Eastern PA folks here?

Hi.
I just signed up for Team in Training on Long Island, NY. Its looking like I'm going to do a half marathon in January. I'm going to read through all of the posts on this team as soon as I get home from work! I'm pretty sure I have a lot to learn.

Is it possible to be both excited and terrified at the same time?

Hi! I'm new! I'm currently training and raising for my first TNT event which is the Virginia Beach Rock n Roll Half marathon on Sept 6th. I am part of the Northern Jersey Chapter. So far this experience has been very rewarding and I really am looking forward to reaching my goals, both running and fundraising! This virtual TnT team has got to be the most quiet team I have ever met. LOL....

How is training coming along? How is fundraising in this challenging times...

Keep swimming, riding, and running ... and raising money _ you make a difference ... so a parent can hug their kid, a spouse kiss their spouse, alllow a grandmother to see their first grandchild be born.

Hello all. I joined TNT in January. I will be doing my first full marathon in with TNT in May, the Buffalo Marathon. I have run half marathons before so the early stages of training haven't been too difficult for me.
I am excited to see what the coming months will bring! emoticon

Hello fellow TNT'ers.

Greetings from a Northern Ohio Chapter member. This June I will be doing the Tahoe bike ride for the 7th year in a row. I have done two marathon and the Chicago tri for TnT. Yep, I am a triplecrowner. I did a triple crown with a buddy of mine in 2007 in 100 days. If you are new to Team in Training a triple crown is someone who does the fundraising and complete a half/full marathon, 100 mile bike ride, and a triathlon. Most people doesn't do it in one year - but Mark and I just thought it would be fun - so we did it.

When I started doing it, it was because I wanted to do something for the community and to get in better shape - as you can see this has become a new life for me. In 2006... BAM ... my niece was diagnosed with ALL, and is doing OK.

My Tahoe ride in 2007 was special - I did it with one of my patients who has/had Mantle cell lymphoma and he was 18 months out from a bone marrow transplant.

If you are new to Team in Training - you are in for a wonderful and inspiring experience, and what ever I can do to help - I will be glad to do.

BTW Jo - I am jealous ... you are doing the death ride.

Hi everyone!

I'm Jo, and I live in the San Francisco Bay area.

I just signed on with TNT (like, yesterday!) to train for the Tour of the California Alps / Markleeville Death ride in July. It's 129 miles and 15,000 feet of climbing over five mountain passes. *gulp*

Our kick-off is January 31st and we start training the 1st weekend of February. I'm really looking forward to it!

All the best, - Jo.

Hola, Fellow TNT-ers! I'm training with TNT for my second time. I'm so happy to find SP.

In 2005, I started training to walk the 2005 Nike Women's full Marathon in SF, but I had to bail at recommitment, as I was fundraising then at a time in my life when I did not have a car or a job.

I am back with TNT this year training to walk the Flying Pig 1/2 Marathon in Cinci in May 2009. This time it means more.

Believe it or not, my older sister started chemo for Hodgkin's this week. YOU never know who might be affected by these diseases...to think I would ever have a personal connection to blood-related cancers, wow. The same sister is a Basal Cell Carcinoma Survivor.

I imagine crossing the finish line every night before I fall asleep.

I will have to tell my friend in Texas who is run-walking in WDW in Jan. (also in honor of my sister) about this loop.

Hi LETSRUNANOTHER1... I think I am running on the San Francisco Marathon in the Spring. I haven't started training or registered yet. I am waiting for my chapter to let me know when training starts... They are just getting ready for the Fall race right now.

Don't be nervous. You sound like you've really got a plan going on and your making the best use of your resources. You are going to succeed. I can see it. Congratulations on your great ideas. You'll see, you'll have so much money you'll be able to help out other teammates.

Keep up your success. Way to go! Try to remember it's only June. You still have months to make this money.

I mailed out 100 letters to family, friends, neighbors and our 'business people' (pediatrician, dentist, insurance person, etc).

We homeschool and am on a couple different local homeschooling lists and I e-mailed them all (even those I don't know).

mercury.smith and I are having a Spaghetti Dinner and a Bunco/Wine Tasting in July. Both with Silent Auctions and food donated by local restaurants.

A part of our marathon group is having a kid festival in a couple of weeks. moonwalk, sno cone, cotton candy, hot dogs, vendors (all donated).

I've sent out Sponsorship packets to several places (made human contact first and then e-mailed to appropriate person).

So far I've raised $210 of my $4100. I am NERVOUS!!

Welcome to the team. I'm so envious of all of you who are participating in the Nike event. I wanted to run it as well, but I have already fundraised twice in a year and I didn't think my family and friends would understand. Maybe next year.

May I ask what kind of fundraising have you done so far?

Hi guys,
I'm training with TnT to run the full marathon in San Francisco this fall. Looks like we might be able to get this board hopping with San Francisco bound folks! I hope so...I'd love to see an active forum filled with people working on this endeavor!

I just found this team on sparkpeople. I've joined TNT and had my first training yesterday. I will be doing the Nike 1/2 marathon in San Francisco in Oct. I will be walking. I have never done any athletic event before so am excited and nervous at the same time. So glad to have found the team here on sparkpeople. emoticon
