I am great because I just got done doing 48 minutes of aerobic walking with weights thrown in! (Leslie Sansone 3 Mile DVD)

I am great today because I have new running shoes to try out on the treadmill tonight!

I'm great today because the sun is finally out after the torrential rain and gusting winds!

I'm great today because we're on Day 3 of sunshine after 5 days of rain... The rain starts again tomorrow, so I'm enjoying the sunshine even more today!

Today, I am GREAT for two reasons...

#1 After spending an AWFUL weekend in Tahoe (yes, it's possible to have an awful time in Tahoe - when you're congested and feel like poo the entire time), I am GREAT because I am finally home and got a good night's sleep in my own cozy bed.

#2 I am also still wallowing in GREATNESS from last week's discovery... That I finally fit back into my size 27 jeans! (Check my blog for the full story!)

Mom is actually coming home today instead of yesterday... Her doc has been insistent that she go from the hospital to a skilled nursing facility for 2 weeks and we've all been insistent that she won't! She and her doc compromised by staying one extra day in the hospital in exchange for no SNF. Well worth it, and she texted me and said she feels great today! Woo hooooo!

I'm great today because I am happy for Lynn.

I'm great because the guy that cleans our gutters actually showed up to work this time!

OK, I have to weigh in, so to speak... Last year I reconnected with my high school sweetheart after 20+ years of no contact... He was my first love... :-) He lives in NC and I live in So Cal and we've still managed to get together a few times... So much fun....

It is indeed a small world, Palominogirl3! My friend and I talked and laughed for three hours after not seeing or hearing from each other for 20 years. It brought back such sweet memories of the college days and whispering back and forth through the phone box that was between each room.

Wow, in the face of a major disruption, I am impressed. I would have melted down on the spot or waited until I was in the bathroom at work and then the storm would have broken. What a great spirit!



I am great that despite my moodiness this beautiful day, I am going to reach out to a friend who is struggling and attempt to lift her spirits.

Thanks, MRS_TOAD! I am definitely on the mend. And I have to comment on you reconnecting with an old friend... 3 years ago, after completely losing touch with my high school best friend, we found each other again and talking to her that first time (after not seeing her for 13 years!) was as if not a day had passed! Of course, we had SO much to catch up on but we still knew each other so well! Crazy, huh? Anyway, she is still, to this day, one of my best friends and we've agreed to never let each other go again. OK, that's my sentimental story for the day... hehe

Today, I am GREAT because I went out to the barn this morning to find ALL THREE stalls completely flooded. (That's not the great part.) The GREAT part is that I didn't lose my cool - Believe me, normally, I would see this as a major catastrophe and have to fix it right away, but today I just shrugged it off, said "I'll deal with this AFTER work" and I let the horse out into the pasture where he will become one huge muddy mess by the time I get home. But that's ok. He loves the rain and rolling in the mud anyway.

I believe I am learning "PATIENCE", people, and THIS is a ginormous development for me!!!

I am so glad you are feeling better and are able to look forward to your time in Tahoe. Half the fun of going away is the anticipation and planning!

I am great today because I went food shopping last night and then found the phone ringing when I got home. It was a dear friend from my undergrad years that I recently found on a social network. We may be a bit older (or more LOL) but we haven't changed a whole lot!

I am GREAT today because I think I am finally seeing the light at the end of this "sick" tunnel, thanks to Sudafed (the kind you have to buy from the pharmacist!). Now, instead of dreading this weekend's trip to Tahoe, I am starting to look forward to it... Snowboarding (so I'll get lots of cardio in!) and lots of rest and relaxation!

I'm great after getting 3 of 4 trivia questions correct and that put me back at 90% for the month.

Also great because I got a couple cabinets cleaned out so that everything didn't keep falling on the floor- sometimes anyway!

I am great today because I am back on the SP site and active on here again!! It has been a lllllllllllong time since I was last logged in and sharing my greatness with everyone!!

Today, I'm GREAT because I answered 3 out of 3 Spark Trivia questions correctly! Gotta get that average up!

AND I woke up this morning to three of my favorite things... the sound of roosters, cows and rain!

MRS_TOAD - Isn't it so much fun (and can be very interesting) reconnecting with long lost friends? What did we ever do without social networking sites?

Today, I'm GREAT because I've got 2 loads of laundry (out of 5!) folded and put away, dinner on the stove and house cleaned... all before noon! I never have days this productive.

Haircut at 3... Still haven't decided what to do with these unruly locks. Hmmm...

I'm great because I have reconnected with college friends on a social networking site! We haven't changed all that much except weight issues.

OK, so somehow my reply posted twice and I can't seem to find a way to delete this dang thing, so I guess I'll just do another "I'm great" post... tee hee.

NOW, I'm great because the ol' boss is sending me home for some much needed rest. Baby's in daycare, hubby's at work so I get some ME time. Yay! Toasty warm bed and Theraflu, here I come!

I'm GREAT today because I have been on a roll this week with squeezin' my cardio in and even though I woke up this morning feeling like POO (must have caught my daughter's bug), I still feel strong and motivated!

Today, I'm GREAT because after being up all night with a sick baby (no fun!), I still managed to get myself ready for work early so I'd have time to make my hubby a breakfast sandwich. He loves them and I figured at least ONE of us should have a good day. We'll have to catch up on zzz's tonight!

I am great today because I got up on time and did my 30 mins of cardio, entered my measurements and feeling very motivate. I hate my arms so I decided that I am going to cut them off - JUST KIDDING!!! I am going to kick up my weight training to get my buff chick arms back!

I'm great today because I had 8 servings of freggies yesterday! Go me!

I'm great because I have gotten some odds and ends put away from Christmas

I'm GREAT today because after a weekend filled with way too much food (crab feed AND cookie challenge party!), I have packed my healthy lunch for work and am BACK ON TRACK!

And I still need to get that book!

I'm great because I haven't caught the flu yet despite the household being sick!

I'm GREAT today because I feel great and it's good to be back on track again and striving to be healthy and get this weight off once and for all.

I'm great today because I made it through the Thanksgiving potluck at work in under 600 calories... AND avoided pumpkin pie! Woo-Hoo!

You know I was learning to crochet. That is a good idea. I also have billions of pictures that need to go into albums (scrapbooking them) that would keep me busy for the entire year. HA! Thanks for the helpful tips. I appreciate it!!

Tara- Welcome back! As for boredom ideas-- have you tried any crafts like needlework or knitting/crocheting. I find them very useful as they keep my hands busy so I am not eating. Know the several of my afghans I ended up giving to the dogs, but at least I wasn't eating. You CAN and WILL succeed!

Okay everyone----I've been gone for a while and wasted a year but I'm back and I need support and I WILL SUCCEED this time. I have the tools, I just need accountability and support. I'm GREAT because I feel like I may have finally figured out why I eat.

I eat because of STRESS & BOREDOM. I need something to do at night to keep myself busy when my husband and daughter go to bed. I also need some fun workouts that I can do at home (until we can unfreeze our gym account). Any and ALL suggestions welcome. Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

I'm GREAT today because we've been working to get custody of my 16 year old cousin and we've made HUGE progress today! She lives in Mississippi, but we live in So Cal, so it's been difficult, at best, but we're getting there! Woo hooooo!!!

So, I came on this morning to post that I was great because my Miami Dolphins won in a big way yesterday, but then something better happened...

I went on to SparkPeople today to log my food for the first time in who knows when (go me!), and I saw that SparkPeople has a new book that will be out in January called "The Spark"... So, I checked it out, and saw that if I preorder the book now it's only $15 instead of $25 (through Barnes & Noble), and I also get a $20 SP gift certificate etc., which I thought was really cool. So, I ordered 2!

But, wait there's more.... I went back to check out the book info and on the tab "What People Are Saying" are pictures and quotes from 5 SP members who are in the book....and lo and behold, our own Donna (thinmom5) is in the book! Woo hoooo!! So excited!!
