Today I weighed myself in. I only have 6 more pounds to go before I reach my goal weight!! YAY, healthy eating!

Biggest accomplishment yet, though? JOINING A GYM. I go to Zumba classes now and abs classes and work out more than I ever did when I just went to my gym here at school. :)

I gained about 10 pounds in the last few months and I decided I was going to get back on Spark People yesterday because it really helped me stay motivated about a year ago. Yesterday was my first day back on here and I'm feeling great already! I'm back to working out and eating better. No soda and ridicilous amounts of bad food.

This is my first day on Sparkpeople and I'm excited to start diving in and meeting my goals! I have a big problem with snacking snacking snacking all day but never making a good adequate meal because I am busy and find it hard to just cook for one person. Any insights on how I can break this horrible habit? Thank you I cant wait to begin!!!

Hello! I started this whole "spark adventure" about 2 weeks ago. I've lost about 3lbs and have been managing to keep 1200 calories or less about 80% of the time.


I've reached my plateau/wall!!! I always lose 3lbs in the beginning, then lose motivation and gain all and more back.

I have two more months to reach my goals to fit into a bridesmaid dress YIKES!

any tips are appreciated!

I went to a turbo kick class and a zumba class this week! I also have barely eaten any snacks or chocolate :)

-Congratulations SMILING! Wow,25lbs lost? You HAVE to be so proud of yourself :)

-Last night I was able to eat Taco Bell, and for once I did not over do it ((yay!)) I just ate a chicken crunchwrap.
-Day 12 of mindful eating...

My mother recommended that I join Spark People; very glad I did! I already feel more motivated, normally I go all in for a day or 2 then start slacking (excuses why I cant work out). I really want to look nice for summer and not have to keep buying larger sizes every month. Keep up all the hard work everyone! emoticon

I lost 3 pounds this month and i am only getting started! I am so excited to finally be healing from my surgery in October. I am not up to running yet, but I am speed walking along with strength training :) And it feels good! I didn't realize how much I loved to exercise and missed it until my knee injury and surgery had me unable to do anything since July. But I hope everyone else is making progress as well!

I ran the Hot Chocolate 15K in Chicago in 1 hour and 16 minutes! That's a pace of 8:11. I beat my last time by 9 minutes! Woooo!!!

Great job guys! Keep going!

Here's my accomplishment: I STARTED! :) I've been stuck on that step for years...
I've been keeping at it for a month now, and tomorrow's cardio will complete my first five-day-a-week exercise week.

After I had my last baby on August 13, i was 185 lbs. I am now down to 138.8!
thats a loss of 46.2!

woohoo! I want to get down to about 130 then tone up a lot :)

OMG! well done everyone....my accomplishment so far is sticking out day 1 haha ...i feel so hungry because i am a big binge eater but i suppose it gets easier as your stomach shrinks a bit. But at the same time i feel good and i dont feel over bloated for once which is awsome! ....also how do you get those picture trackers???

Since joining SparkPeople I'm down 7 pounds! Plus, I am graduating from the University of Washington in two days! Lastly, I have gotten my cardio up to 45 minutes a day, 6 times a week. Feeling great!

I'm no runner, but today I forced myself to run a mile uphill! Woo, did I feel the burn! I ran/jogged/walked a total of 3 miles and then did the "Stretching for Runners" video from this site. Beautiful day today! So glad I signed up for SparkPeople because it's giving me the motivation I need to get out there and run. Thanks everyone!

Saturday I pushed myself to run 4 miles. It wasn't in succession but it still felt great once I was done! I totalled (with walking) 4.7 miles in just under 50 minutes!! It isn't always easy to get started but once it is over, I always realize it wasn't that bad.

What a great thread! I'm going to come back here when my motivation's low for the extra kick in the pants to stick with it.
Mine: I exercised yesterday, despite the surprise arrival of old-friends knocking my schedule way-off. And I still want to do more today! (Exercise is not usually something I want to do, ever.)

Also: (not really an accomplishment yet) I'm really liking how the tracker is making me think about making healthier choices - for example eating more protein-rich food (something I am bad at!) rather than simply looking at food on a calorie basis.

Yesterday I tacked an unplanned half kilometre onto my run (was only planning to run 5 and did 5.5!) and today when I weighed in I am down 3 pounds this week! As long as it was an accurate weigh, then I only have 5 pounds left until my goal!

BTW...I know the recommended amount of weight loss is 1-2 pounds, and that's all I was going for! But I'm just starting back up again after a couple months of slacking so my metabolism must be really jacked up right now! :)

I've been in Tulsa for 3 weeks at an internship. I've been living with my aunt. I just recently broke up with my boyfriend and I've been down quite a bit and not willing to put the effort and energy into my normal workouts. My aunt eats very healthy. Like REALLY healthy and I eat dinner with her most nights of the week. I also decided that I needed to do something as a work out so I go on bike rides after work. I've only been doing this for about a week though and not every day of the week, just when I have time. What I'm getting at is in those three weeks of eating really healthy and just working out by doing something I enjoy that isn't that difficult I've lost 5 pounds! I didn't even try! I came home this weekend for the 4th and decided to weigh myself. I was a little scared since I hadn't been busting my butt doing my Insanity workouts but I was pleasantly surprised when I saw the number. I weigh 122 now. I've been trying to break past 127 for 2 years now. I guess eating healthy really is more important to weight loss than intense exercise. I hope this helps motivate others to eat healthy too!

Have you tired listening to music or a podcast. I use to find run/ jogging boring but now I listen to something and do more interval running/ jogging. I really enjoy it now.

Yesterday I ran (which I also normally hate to do) almost 2 miles in 20 minutes. I have never before run more than a mile, and I've only been able to run for 10 minutes, max. I also sneaked in a yoga video yesterday afternoon, instead of grabbing a sweet snack to help me finish out my day. Turns out, the yoga actually gave me more energy than the treat!

I'm starting to get some nice definition in my abs! Body fat percentage is at 21% - goal = 17% I've been working extremely hard, I can't wait to reach my goal and be completely happy with my body on the beach this summer :)

Thanks to help from my personal trainer, I can now do 3 sets of UNMODIFIED pushups!! I haven't been able to do that since high school! I have also taken up running, which I used to absolutely HATE, but I'm learning to try to love it.

I didn't binge eat tonight! I've had a major problem with mindless eating at night and realized today I put on 4 inches from all my recent binge episodes (such a set back!). But, I stayed positive and went to the gym. It's a new day and I'm ready for change!

This week was the first week that it finally clicked that my body wants me to put whole, healthy foods in it (amazing revelation I know) - before this i was just stuffing empty calories in it, just trying to stay below my numbers and not really thinking about how it affected me and I could not understand why i was hungry all the time and bingeing! This week I have changed my outlook and have filled up on REAL food, not packaged crap and guess what - I feel better and more satisfied!

I hope it shows on the scale when I weigh in next week, but either way my body feels better already and that seems like an accomplishment. :)

I have started running and although its a huge challenge to me and I normally HATE it, I started because a huge group of my friends started. I have only ever run one mile without stopping before this attempt to run and I have now run my second mile and then finished 5K on an interval. I made good time which may mean I'm going too fast.

I found that if I drink water and chew gum in the afternoon, I can resist snacking much better. Its a little bit of a mental game but I think it helps.

I cooked healthy, well-balanced meals for the whole week on Sunday and had my first 6 AM personal training session this morning!

...now if I can only calm my afternoon salty/sweet craving! HELP!

I've been thinking about joining this team for a while, but I was in-between the 10 lbs to lose and 25 lbs to lose groups. After a few months of exercising and recovering from binge eating disorder, now I only need to lose about 12 lbs to get back to my previous healthy weight. :)

After being frustrated due to lack of quick results that i wanted ... i lost 2 pounds this past week which totally made me even more motivated to keep up with my workouts and healthy eating. good job everyone and keep up the good work!!!!

Saturday I went to browse for a dress to wear to my brother's wedding this June - tried some jeans on just because I was curious and I am now a size 9 for the first time (and achieved in a healthy way) in YEARS! A size 10 in dresses as well and discovered there are numerous options for me in that department :) Yay!

i was on vacation all weekend so wasn't able to keep up with sparkpeople but still kept to my good habits! i was definitely worried going into it cause i had been doing so well but im so proud of myself for sticking to the plan! i wasnt tracking but in my head tried to keep a mental checklist and feel awesome! hope everyone else is doing well motivated for another successful week!!
