You go girl! The exercise "high" rocks. I am aiming for 3x this week - so far I'm at one, but I'm planning to swim tomorrow, ski on the weekend, and I have Monday off - not sure what I am doing with that quite yet.

I'm working on thinking up other breakfasts, maybe go back to my old standby of oatmeal w/almonds, rice/almond milk, maple syrup... yummmmm.

I'm doing all right. I need to step up my game. I tell you, I LOVE exercising. When I do it I'm happy and feel so good. It's just the starting up that's the problem. I have to get past it or else I'm screwed!

I love the water idea. I used to be good at it but it's gotten hard again. I'm up for all 8 glasses this week!

No word on the challenge, but I propose we try to get in ALL 8 cups of water every day for this week. I have a really hard time doing this, so bottom's up! emoticon

How is everyone doing so far? I'm working on a hypoallergenic diet for the next four weeks and have been having more energy then a long time! Just having trouble getting in enough protein at breakfast.

oooh! this challenge will be fun. I love to bake, but I hate breaking those traditions. I love my real butter and real sugar! haha, I guess this will be my chance to branch out and find some other stuff that still tastes yummy!!

I think it might be less confusing if we created private sparkteams for each of the holiday challenge teams. I know that's what they're doing for the 8 week challenge, and it'll be easier to navigate the discussions between team members. Just a thought...

Okay everyone here is the first challenge:

Since the teams are small it will allow us to do some interesting things. The first challenge is a recipe challenge. For me and I think most of us the hardest part of the holidays is the desserts!! So this challenge is all about desserts. I want everyone to submit a recipe to be posted under their team discussion forum. Then each team will vote to decide which recipe they find the best for the requirements. You will cast your vote to your team captain and then the team captain will tell me which recipe you guys picked. Then I and the challenge co-captain will pick a winning team.

So here are the requirements for the Dessert Recipe:

We are looking for recipes that are low calorie and low fat but also taste good. Something that the whole family will enjoy and maybe not even know that it is low calorie/fat.

You have until Saturday Nov. 14 at noon for the team captain to submit a winning recipe to me via sparkmail. The winning team will be announced on Monday Nov. 16th.

If these people do not want to be captain or co-captain then please let me know so that I can select another name. All discussions between individuals in a team should be posted under the discussion for that team. Chrissy,

For now just send me a you are interested sparkmail so that I have a complete list of people to make the teams from. It is easier to save all the messages in a sparkmail folder than to try and get all the names off of the message board because sometimes people write in multiple times. Once I pick teams everyone will get a message about it telling them what to do next.

This is a second eight week challenge for those that missed the first one. We all felt left out and she has blocked anyone else from entering so I have started a second one. This one is labeled with the different start and end dates than the one spiritbear is doing.

Okay everyone this is for all of you who missed the sign ups for the first 8 week challenge. Here's how it is going to work. Everyone who is interested please submit a sparkmail to me by Nov. 7th so that I can set up teams on the 8th to be ready for the start date of the ninth. If we have late entries I will add them to a team and try to keep the numbers even on teams, this way no one is left out. Every Monday everyone will be required to submit a sparkmail to me with their current weight and team name. This way the message board is not to jammed up with just weights. The team who loses the most pounds per week will be announced along with the individual that loses the most, these will be announced on Tuesday by noon. The team and individual that lose the most each week will be required to submit one "secret" to their success within two days of the weekly announcement. This will help give others tips and ideas to help them along the way. There will also be one weekly challenge each team must participate in. The weekly challenges will be announced on Monday by noon of each week and teams have until Saturday at 12 noon to participate in the challenges. Each team will have a captain and co captain and I will also be looking for a co-captain to help me keep track of everything and pick the winners of the challenges each week if anyone is interested in helping me please send me a sparkmail and I will randomly pick a name from those interested. I am also taking sparkmails for ideas for challenges, please don't post these in the discussion thread I don't want to ruin the surprise for others for the ones I use. I will create a disscussion thread for each team and then in this main discussion thread I am starting with this message is were I will post the weekly weigh-in winners and the weekly challenge winners, it is also were the winners will post their "secrets" every week. If anyone has any questions or ideas please feel free to contact me. Oh yes and to answer the question I know someone will ask.... the time zone that the 12 noon deadlines are in is eastern because I live on the east coast. Thanks to all and I hope we have fun!! Also I will take everyones name and randomly pick the teams, then I will randomly pick a captain and co-captainfor that team. If those people do not want to be captain or co-captain they can decline and I will pick another name.
