By September 19th I would love to be at or below 261. I am technically there right now but I think it's all water weight so I want to make sure that stays there!

bedroom clean so we can move in bedrrom furniture (done, BTW). We no longer sleep on a mattress on the floor... it's like we're almost grown-ups or soemthing. LOL.

1) Get my bedroom cleaned up by 8/17 so I have no excuse NOT to exercise! I have some Leslie videos and some new stuff from Netflix. (8/11 - starting to see floor now!) -- I still have not finished. I have no time for it with all the exercising I have been doing!
2) Take advantage of more opportunities to exercise to the point where I am doing at least something every day, and cardio at least 3x/wk -- Have been going to the gym 3 days a wk w/my friend and walking the neighborhood or doing dvd's most other days! Even started strength training! So not every single day, but close to it.
3) Get to 235! - Get out of the 240's by 8/17 (pushing it but I am dying to do it!) and lose another 5 after that. -- My lowest has been 238, so I would be happy seeing 237 on the 31st.
4) Be a better girlfriend, daughter, and friend -- I have improved in this!
5) Lower my calorie intake to what is recommended by sparkpeople -- I did do it a while ago, but I decided 1200-1500 for someone my size is way too low. I started losing weight faster once I raised it to 1600-1800.
6) Take 'before' pics and start measuring -- started measuring but I am dragging my feet on the pics lol

I am no longer planning my goals in terms of pounds. I have an idea of where I want to be, and that will be the end result of several smaller goals to achieve before then.

My August goal was to start working on my action plan created by me and the dietician.

I'd say I've achieved about 50% of it. Here's the plan:

1. Optimize pattern of eating
2. Eat food prepared by myself most of the time
3. Balanced diet
4. Increase physical activity

I've optimized my pattern of eating. I can't get those times out of my head. Eat breakfast within an hour and a half of waking up. Eat every 3-4 hours. Meals spread out 4-6 hours. This was not very difficult to get into the habit of doing.

I also prepare most of my meals. I've been reading nutrition labels again and started being very selective again.

Balanced diet... in progress. I'm definitely eating MORE fruits and vegggies, and drinking more milk, but I do believe that my diet is very starch heavy still and have to work on that.

Physical activity - none. This will be my biggest hurdle. Maybe that will be my goal next month...

I just want to say my goal is to weigh 187 by September 1st (I set an 8lb/month weight loss goal and I have met it the last 4 months) but this time is special because if I can manage to get down to 185, or even 183 it'll be my halfway mark - 50lbs lost!! My goal is to stop the binge and work out more then a handfull of times each month. So far this month I have incorporated Zumba twice a week and started yoga.

Cloths Goal - Right now I am in a lose 32 and tight (scared to sit down tight) 30. I would like to be in at best my 28 jeans & at least comfortable in my 30's.

Fitness Goal - I want to log at least 40 miles this month (I am only at 4.5 not including todays gym trip) & I want to be able to Zumba without looking like a FOOL lol. Its fun but I know I look stupid lol.

I am a bit late on this one, but I have a few goals!

1) Work out 4 days a week.
2) Stop caring if a piece of gym equipment squeaks.
3) No more gorging on inappropriate foods. I will grocery shop and eat whole foods that make me feel healthy and strong.
4) I will eat at least 1 bite and no more than 1 serving of an absolutely delicious food every single day.

I have started already by taking a brisk walk w/my boyfriend yesterday, doing tricep dips and 'laps' in my aunt's pool, and soon will be going to a gym (for free!) w/my best bud (8/12 - doing my third cardio this week after work)
3) Get to 235! - Get out of the 240's by 8/17 (pushing it but I am dying to do it!) and lose another 5 after that. I want to at least get close to that! (8/12 - a new low today! 241.2!)
4) Be a better girlfriend, daughter, and friend

My goals this month:
Continue walking-speed walk in morning, more casual walk in the evening.
Continue following nutrition guidelines-eat within my range everyday.
Blog regularly-not everyday, but as I need to to keep motivated
Start strength training-follow spark people workouts 3x/week
DRINK-focus on drinking 8 cups of water by end of evening walk (so I don't have to pee all night ;) )

While I always hope to lose 1.5-2 lb/week I am not going to set a hard goal. The weight WILL come off if I stick to my healthy habits

hello it's Donna B:) hello August how are you!!! i hope you cool off a bit..we were up to 110 today in memphis! yikes!!!

My goal for the month of august is to tone these arms..i know that willnot happen in the month..but this is my main focus!!! but mainly to lose weight..i hope to drop 15 lbs this month!

Ashley here, and I am still rockin' it down 15.4 lbs :) Yay! My goals for this month are...

1.Get up to a 5 mph jog by the end of the month, even if it's for 5 minutes :)

2. It would be fantastic to hit my 20 lb mark this month and start working my way towards 30

3. Cook a lot of the recipes I have cut out or printed

4. Make sure I get my water intake!

This is my first post. I finally hit my 25 pounds lost goal... so my goal this month is to hit at least 30 pounds lost and to start measuring to keep up with inches lost. It's very frustrating to have a low weight loss week knowing how hard I've worked with what seems like nothing to show for it. I'm hoping that keeping up with inches too will renew my spirt a little. emoticon

My August Goals..

1. start the C25K program and don't give up when it's hard.
2. No fast food
3. Stock house with healthy go to snack options and make trail mix to keep on the road to avoid those fast food urges.
4. Go to bed before 2am!
5. set alarms and wake up before the kids and get moving (well to start at least mon-fri)

Hey all!! Checking in.

August goals:
-get to 270lbs again.
-track 60 miles this month (walking, treadmill, elliptical, bike, etc.)
-keep on track with food intake
-go to bed before 10:30pm
-make the addition of an extra bottle of water daily at work... so from 4 bottles to 5 bottles of water every workday.

Hi! I'm new here - just joined SP last night, and super excited about such an wesome website! I am just beginning my plan, so my August goals are:

1. Lose 8-10 pounds this month
2. Drink 4 16 oz. glasses of water/day
3. Eat at least one vegetable or fruit/day (I really struggle with this one)
4. Get on a regular eight-hour sleeping schedule
5. Do some physical activity every day, even if it's just up and down the stairs a few times
6. Actually cook a real meal at least once a week (I'm home alone, so it's hard to convince myself it's worth the effort most nights - tonight I have chicken and left over rice from the chinese food place... I'm thinking chicken-fried rice. Yum!)

Wow, that's kind of alot. But if you don't set goals, then there's nothing to aim for, right? Good luck to everyone!

1. I will lose 8lbs before my birthday, August 28th, because 8 is my lucky number (I think it is because of my birthdate 08/28/85)
2. Make my diet a little stricter
3. Aim for 2 hours of exercise a day for 6 days a week.

Goals are simple since I'm just getting back on the wagon (hopefully last time is the last fall...) Anyway, on to the August goals...

1. Drink at least 60 oz water a day
2. Get back in the Curves Habit... the circuit at least 3x's a week.
3. Loose inches somewhere ;)

Wow! You guys have some great goals. Well seeing as this is all still very new to me, I don;t want to set goals that I cannot keep so here goes:
1. Get out and walk at least 3 days a week
2. record my food and excercise
3. End the month with a lower number on the scale than I started the month with!!

Goals for August
1.) Eat no chips and junk food including pops what so ever which include fatty fat fast foods lol.
2.) Drink 8 cups of water.
3.) Work out for 40 minutes on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday for the cardiovascular portion.
4.) Finally, after reaching all this, I hope to lose 12 lbs. Right now I'm 303, and proud of it because I came along way. I've lost 42 lbs already so I really do not need to worry about it much but, just be about my goal of reaching 250 lbs by December 25th (if I can remember correctly. emoticon

I'm just getting started on a lifestyle change, so my goals are very simple.

1) End the month at a lower weight than I started.

goals this month include
1: losing the rest of my first 16 pound goal (6 lbs to go)and starting on my next goal which is 12 lbs.

2: hit the gym everyday this month with the exception of days i hike. i want to weight train 6 days a week and do cardio 7 days a week.

I'm still pushing after a week of setbacks-

AUGUST GOALS-

1- Get out of the 300's (only 9 lbs to go)
2- Drop my BMI below 40.0 (need to weigh less than 295)
3- Work out at least 22 days in the month

Goals for August:

1) Get to the 20-25 pound weight loss mark!
2) Continue tracking my food and fitness!

My goals for this month are:

1. Lose at least 8 lbs and/or 3-4 inches off my thighs, hips, and waist.

2. Not get so aggravated when the scale isn't budging even though I'm losing inches.

3. Keep logging my food and exercise. Do cardio at least 5x a week and working my arms 3x-4x a week.

One ♥ for every 10 lbs. lost!!

I love the first of the month...it always seems like a new beginning. I think it's easier if I look at the big picture in pieces so this month I will be:

1. On the look out for a reliable buddy that's similar to me.
2. Lose 8-10lbs this month.
3. Focus on the day and not on how long the journey will take to my goal weight.
4. And cardio for 30 mins three times a week (min)

My August goals:

1) Cardio at least 4x a week, preferably 6.

2) Get through my birthday without a binge, but without restricting myself more than I need too!

3) Get a physiotherapy referal for my pain, and for my shoulder problems, so that I can start upper body strength training!

My goal is to lose 8 pounds, and to walk 3 days a week and start strength training at least one day a week. I also want to walk farther and faster than I do now, but I don't have specific goals in mind. Just 'better than now.'

Goals:

150 minutes exercise per week.

Keeping an eye on my carbs, and making sure I eat a normal amount of them.

Lowering my risk of diabetes.
