It is actually good to change it up between the two. You don't want your body getting too use to the same routine day in and day out. Keep it thinking!

Love yourself, first and foremost! Take care of you for you! Don't be afraid to ask for help... there is no shame in it!

Don't fear the set backs when they come. Embrace them, learn from them, and grow into a healthier person!!!

Glad I could help out...personally, I have a heart rate monitor and use that to judge how intensely I'm working out. I can also set it to beep at me when my heart rate is too high or too low for whatever I'm trying to accomplish.

Check out this link to one of the FAQs on Spark. The "fat burning zone" is deceiving. Hope this link helps you out!

What I understand about the two is that one overall thing to keep in mind - the more calories you burn, the more fat you burn. Period. Higher heart rate burns more calories. So although there are two different ranges, to burn the most fat, you want the higher heart rate. The cardio range also has the added benefit of training your heart and lungs to perform more efficiently.

all that being said, working out even in the fat burning range is better than sitting on the couch.

Let me start out by saying that this is what I was told, am only about 95% sure that it is right.

The cardio setting on a workout machine is intended for a higher heart rate, burning more readily available calories.

The fat burning setting is for a lower heart rate at which your body uses your body fat as energy.

both are good for you but I also generate to a fat burn setting.

I hope this is explained the right way to be understood.

that's a good question, I'd be interested in the answer too. I always thought that a calorie burned was a calorie burned.
What's the difference?

If you will do what you CAN.... God will do what you CAN'T.

At the gym the machines I use have a cardio setting or a fat burning setting. Which is better for you? Right now, my main thing is burning fat I guess. I just want to get the most out of my workout.
