In general, most of my calories are eaten during breakfast & lunch. Usually try making dinner light in calories in general for myself.

Little by little, step by step, day by day.

I tried to do a calorie breakdown of the day, making sure to eat a decent breakfast and keeping lunch and dinner light, but I ended up getting frustrated and being hungry at the end of the day. It works best for me to save most of my calories for dinnertime so I can eat dinner with my family. I'll usually have a piece of fruit for breakfast and a sandwich with some fresh fruit/veggies for lunch which adds up to around 500 calories, I might have an afternoon snack if dinner is going to be late usually around 200 cal., so for dinner I will have anywhere from 700 -1000 calories available. My range is roughly 1400-1800.

Breakfast 400 Calories

Lunch 400 Calories

Snack 200 Calories

Dinner 600 Calories

I aim for 1600 calories a day.

I tend to eat the bulk of my calories in the morning. Breakfast will be like 400-600 calories.

Lunch will be about 300-400 calories.

Dinner 300-400 depending on my other meals.

I do allow myself snacks if hungry for them, but don't plan them on a regular basis. Instead I have been trying to keep whole grain crackers, hummus, low fat cheese, and fresh fruit on hand that I can have a 100-200 calorie snack.

My eating plan is 1250-1550 calories per day.

I try not to eat extra even when I work out because that makes me think I can eat extra on days I don't work out also...

That is just me. I read somewhere that you should eat the bulk of your calories early to help keep you satisfied all day. Seems to work for me.

What is done is done. I will not dwell on it. I will move on and learn from my past. I love myself.

Here's what an average day will look like for me:

Breakfast: 200 calories
AM Snack: 90 Calories
Lunch: 200 Calories
PM Snack: 150 Calories
Dinner: The majority of my calories for the day

I do it this way
6:30 AM - about 200-300 calories
9:30 AM - about 200 calories (right after my workout )
12:30 - about 300-400 calories
2:30 PM 150-200 calories
5:30 PM 400-500 calories
7 PM - 100-200 calories

I find it gives me a dinner time that my family doesn't feel restricted on - I also load up on veggies and fruits early on and make sure that 1/2 of my plate is veggies at dinner time :)

I do around 300 each for breakfast and lunch and then 600 for dinner. I have up to another 300 calories to use in there before I reach the top of my range.

I eat all my meals with my family. I try to split mine up through out the day. or go heavy on breakfast and dinner and I light lunch.

I focus on my freggies early in the day. That way I usually get to eat more bulk and lower calorie at the start of my day. Not saying all I eat are freggies. I just focus on trying to get 5 servings and 8 glasses of water by the end of lunch. then I have some extra to play with at supper time.

I can't really say I have had success, but I have found I eat less of my calories for breakfast and lunch than I do for dinner, because, for themost part - I am in complete control of my breakfast and lunch where I usually am eating dinner with my family and want to eat most of what they are eating as well. That way would always leave me with extra room at the end of the day, if I decide to have any form of treat after dinner and if I fill my day with lots of water, I dont get too hungry eating smaller breakfast and lunch meals.

I am new at this. How does everyone split their calories across the day? Has anyone had more success with one approach over another (ie big breakfast vs equally split across the day)?
