Some of you have asked what I am doing. Here are some things that are helping...Now, you don't have to change everything at once. Instead, do one thing for a week, than change another for another week and you will see your body change over time.

I have now lost 20lbs. What is helping me is..

1. eating about 40% of good carbs (grains, fruits, vegetables), and 40% of lean protein and less than 20% of my calories from good fat like olive oil, salmon at each meal. For ex for breakfast I have 4 egg whites cooked (protein) in 1 tsp oil(fat) and an apple (carbs). For lunch, 3-4 oz of salmon with salad with 1 tbsp olive oil and balsamic vinegar. It helps to keep me satisfied and not be hungry between meals. You may have to play with this as everyone's body is different...

2. Drinking 2 liters of water a day.

3. Eating breakfast within 30 min after I get up to get my metabolism going.

4. Preparing my food ahead so that I have it handy when its time to eat. And I eat 4 to 6 meals a day. and obviously track my calories. I eat well for 6 days and then give myself a day off! by eating whatever I want in moderation!

5. THOUGHTS THOUGHTS THOUGHTS!! This one is sooo simple, change your thoughts. I used to focus on Losing weight. Focusing on the word lose, led me to lose my battle with weight. I NOW FOCUS ON BEING HEALTHY AND FIT... Thinking positively is huge, it will change your energy and outcome!!

What an inspiration. As someone who has had several "false starts", its nice to hear about someone who is actually successful. Your goal is very close to mine, so that makes me know I can do it!

Your words of encouragement helped me stay the course. Thank you!! I have now lost 18lbs from Sept 1 through today!! I encourage you all to stay focused. It can be really simple, put yourself first because you all deserve to come first in your lives! My next goal is to lose another 15lbs by March 31, 2010. All the best!! Melina

Thanks all!! It took a lot of commitment. It was like a full time job, but soooo worth it!! Now time to work on the next 15 lbs!!

Thanks Michelle!! Sounds like you are back on track!! Try eating 4 to 6 small meals a day and combine good carbs with protein and a little good fat, it will keep your cravings under control!! Good Luck!

i've been with spark now almost a year and i'm not at goal yet. i feel like i let myself down. but now i'm back to basics, as i call my new start. congrats to you. that is awesome and gives me hope. i just have to plan, which i'm now doing, exercise, water. i know the routine it is following throug i'm having trouble with. any suggestions, i'm a boredown eater. i do fine all day, except weekends, then i'm not so good after dinner. working on this with planning and when my food is gone, sorry charlie your done. congrats to you. michelle.

Hello!!

After struggling as I have done many times, I have won a significant battle in the weight loss war!! I have lost 15lbs in about 10 weeks!! I feel amazing!! Halfway through my weight loss goal. emoticon

I want to encourage you all to keep going, it can happen and it is possible. All we need to do is believe it and plan ahead!! I'd love to hear your success stories!!
