For now I'm weighing daily. I have to keep an eye on impact related inflammation and one of my first clues is sudden weight gain. When I over do it I blow up like a balloon and the ache is horrible. Which sends me into an exercise rut.

I'd like to keep that from happening this time around. So eyeballs peeled for me.

Eventually I'll go back to once a week.

I have banished the scale until the end of the month because it was driving me crazy! It's given me a totally new perspective. Check out my blogs on the scale.

Thanks for all your input! I think I'm going to stick with the weekly weigh ins for now and re evaluate depending on my progress. I'm feeling so good about myself and my progress so far, I don't want to become discouraged by slow moving numbers on the scale. I try to tell myself the #'s don't really matter..... but let's face it. They do!!! 1Deb, I have problems with fluid retention too, and will definitely avoid the scale on those days!!

I WAS weighing my self once a week, and the numbers were horrid. I found that I need to weigh myself DAILY.
I end up retaining so much fluid, that I can weigh 4#s heavier from one, and then 4#s less the next day...WHEN I was weighing once a week, I might catch my UP poundage day, and that would be SO frustrating.
Now, I know what my true weight is, and I can be more forgiving of the fluid additive.
-ALSO: I like to weigh myself after I work out and use the restroom (sorry if that's TMI)

I usually weigh in once a week just to keep myself on track. That way if I notice an increase, I can pay more attention to what I am doing or not doing! Good luck!

I do the once a week weigh in. I am on a team challenge and we weigh in on Sundays and have to have it posted by a certain time. But you need to see what works best for you. Some weigh daily, weekly, or just monthly. And using a tape measure and how your clothes fit is also great.

You can only take one step at a time, it is best that the step is forward, not back. But even a backward step is exercise! LOL

I try to weigh myself at least once a week and usually the same time every week. I pick the middle of the week because I don't always do so great a weekends following my program. And I find the middle of the week is usually the most accurate for me.

Some people weigh themselves every day but that just makes me discouraged as my weight will flucate with in 5lb range depending on how my weeks are going. This could be up or down. And I found if I let to many weeks go by then I am more likely to gain weight.

But you will have to watch and see what works best for you. I have also found if I go by my tape measure and my clothes that's usually a good indicator of my weight gain efforts. For instance the clothes I am currently wearing should be a size larger based on my weight on the scale. But I am very active in the summer my clothes are not a reflection of my actual weight. Thank GOD!

I hope this helps. Oh and Congradulations on the weightloss. Keep up the good work!

what if you woke up today with only the things you thanked God for yesterday.

Hi,
My suggestion is to weigh yourself in the same place, on the same scale (as they do vary), at the same time of day - once a week. Every day would drive even the best of us batty, and once a month would not give us the chance to head off any potential issues before they get out of control. So, once a week following the guidelines above is the best. I think so anyway.
Hope this was helpful. emoticon

I'm wondering how often everyone weighs in? Today is my 1 week mark. Got on the scale and I was down 4 lbs! emoticon
While I'm happy with that, I know myself..... I want instant gratification!!! I also know as the weeks go on it will slow to 1 - 2 lbs/week, and that's a healthy weight loss rate.
So...... my question is, should i weigh myself every other week or maybe once a month and concentrate on the other benefits of my new, healthier lifestyle??
I've been trying to focus on the increased energy and decreased stress after working out and the sense of accomplishment when I meet all my daily goals. I'm also thriving on all the positive reinforcement on this site. So far it's all working!!
Would love to hear other's thoughts on this. Thanks, and have a sparkly day!!
