quadcmom, good luck with your 5k, fyi spark has a program that will prepare you for various runs I do believe it's called the 5k your way. Be sure to rest up the day before your run you do not want to leave any steps on the treadmill that you could use in the run. Enjoy yourself.

Saturday, okay with all 3 meals , some what dirty but all in all good for my body.

Mileage---ran for 60 minutes, biked for 30, I'm closing in on my goal for the month, I'm almost 2/3rds there.

Feel Good About Yourself, there is only one you.

We rode all day yesterday so no mileage to report.

I have a 5K next Saturday so my goal for this week is to do two 5Ks on my treadmill in preparation.

Hey, MobyCarp, I would drop back and rest that muscle up. You're within 5 lbs of goal; you don't need a serious injury.

Well, yesterday I ran for 30 minutes straight--for 2.5 miles, then walked a mile. My goal is to work up to running the 3 miles in 30 min., but I'm taking my time.

I finished off the rest of that microwave popcorn, so that ruined the day's clean eating, but I'm forgiving myself 'cause that's the first really bad gaffe in 6 weeks. I'm human already emoticon .

I had my son and his family over for breakfast, so there went the clean breakfast, well, maybe it was kind of clean, just very fattening, biscuits gravy, fried potatoes, scrambled eggs, and fresh tomatoes, chicken breast later in the day with more tomatoes, and baked beans, not too clean, I am sure, but it was all good My exercise was a total of 70 minutes jogging and walking 20/50.

Because of this challenge, most days I'm not using salt on my oatmeal. That makes breakfast clean--skim milk, oatmeal, raisins. Spices added to the oatmeal vary. I've used cinnamon quite a bit. One morning I used cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger and got a bit of pumpkin pie flavored oatmeal. This morning I used unsweetened cocoa powder, but probably not enough of it. I actually had a clean breakfast today because breakfast at McD with daughter was rescheduled to be lunch at Taco Bell. Taco Bell isn't clean, but it's easier to work around than McD is.

Total miles for the week came in at 25.79, compared to a goal of 20. I would have got more in, but I strained my right calf (primarily the soleus) Thursday evening. Added less than a mile of walking Friday, and 4 miles today; couldn't run either day. Maybe tomorrow, maybe not till Monday.

Day started out well with nonfat Greek Yogurt and fruit for breakfast, but then it went a bit downhill. I started snacking on some nuts and ate quite a few portions. Then Hubby had some biscuits & jam, one of which I ate. Since the biscuit, I haven't felt like having anything else. Guess the calories from the nuts kicked in.

Got in a lot of walking at the Market Fair and then my ST after getting home. But that won't cancel out the extra calories form the nuts and biscuit & jams.

Tomorrow is another day out. We're going to Hubby's Anthro meeting. Will work on staying on track.

Morning All,

Friday , not a good day for me ,out to lunch with friends, lets see, I guess having a slice of cheesecake is the pitts. At least no booze for me I have become the designated driver, In the past I was the one who needed to be driven. Out to dinner with my daughter & her family, not bad , semi clean. You guys are right It's difficult to find non processed food available.

Mileage ran a 5k & biked for 50 minutes.

I walked yesterday--on breaks and lunch time--for 30 min. but I think I fell off the wagon with the clean eating last night--I had 4 cups of microwave popcorn. Oh well--it's been so long...it was good!

Yesterday we were on the road most of the day. I didn't get any exercise to speak of. I did very well on my eating but clean? Not yesterday. I did have a salad for dinner but with dressing. I at least got my veggies in. Also had banana pudding so there is my fruit. LOL

Seriously, if you guys only knew how BIG this is for me. We went to a cafe that had an all you can eat buffet, fried catfish, breads, a dessert buffet, etc and I CHOSE the soup and salad only? I'm feeling successful right now.

Hi All,

To me, cleaning eating is healthy eating. I stick to one ingredient eating as much as possible. If you look at the label of something and it has a long list of stuff, some of which isn't "natural", then it probably isn't very healthy. A lot of processed products are also very heavy in the salt and fat department. Because of Hubby's high Blood Pressure, I read all labels and reject items that list an extremely large amount of salt.

Today it was salmon and salad for lunch and chicken for dinner, along with some fruit and Greek yogurt for a snack. Got my ST done in the morning and Hubby and I went for an afternoon and evening walk.

Me neither, MerryMary! When you think about it...everything except fresh fruits & vegs are processed. I guess. haha. But, it's a great exercise to think about it & try to eat cleaner. My breakfast was good oatmeal & fruit. Lunch was not clean....boca burger with cheese. Dinner was chicken breast, corn & broccoli.

Rode 8 miles on the bike. 30 mins. ST.

Wendy, I have no idea what clean eating is, I thought if it was processed and not fresh but I sure do not know, I guess I should read up on it, but I do not think I did too good for my dinner, breakfast was ok, oatmeal, raisins, a banana and of course milk,
I got lots of exercise today, 200 minutes total, Friday is a gym day, and I take advantage of being there.

Yesterday I did 30 min ST, walked 30 min and logged 2.3 miles on the pedometer.
I had oatmeal/blueberries/walnuts and a banana for breakfast, homemade veg soup with 3 crackers and cheese for lunch, a pear and yogurt for snack and by 5pm I was SO famished I ate a whole turkey breast sandwich on protein bread with olives and CHIPS! That was counted as my dinner and I didn't eat or drink anything after that. I gained 2 lbs in one week, that is a lot and I don't quite understand it because I tried eating lots of soup and salad this week. I don't have a lot of energy to exercise either. I guess I am in a funk! We are traveling this weekend and will spend lots of time in a car, that's not g.

Good Morning, Yesterday was class # 2 with my granddaughter, it's a grandma/pa group that I got involved with. A lot of fun and a tremendous interaction for and with the toddlers.

Thursday---Okay clean meals for breakfast---lunch---Chinese for dinner---as dirty as you can get. I can feel the extra sodium levels in my body this morning.

Mileage included 60 minutes on the elliptical and lots of walking.

Ate clean all day, am finding I can eat more with the running.

Ran a full 30 minutes yesterday (my graduation day for the jog/walk training)! under 3 miles -- Yeah, that's still slow, but I'm pleased!

Have a great class reunion Jazz, I had my 50th last year, and it was wonderful.

I ate quite clean all day, I did have some sun vista pinto beans (canned) I know that is a no no, I also had a hamburger patty, and lots of vegetables, onion, tomato, corn on the cob, avocado and breakfast was good, not perfect, but good, and I am trying

goal 33 miles weekly

week 1 - 31.2
week 2 - 31.9 and this is week end for me, so I missed 33 again, but I will try next week,

My exercise consisted of walking/jogging for 70 minutes air boxing while I jogged, and a lot of moving boxes in and out, I am still trying to get rid of stuff emoticon

I had a good plan today and it seemed to work. I have been keeping dinners on the low carb side. Lots of veges - a piece of cheese and a rice cake or cracker for crunch.

Havent gotten much exercise in. Doing lots of running around for my 40th year high school reunion which is tomorrow evening.

hoping to have a fun evening seeing lots of old friends I have not seen in many years.

Morning All,
I started out the day with a good plan. It just didn't work out. I woke up this morning and thought that I would get in a run before things got so busy. I thought the hotel that we are styaing out had a fitness center or at least a treadmill. No luck. No problem, I thought I will just take it outside. It is raining! Bummer! I don't want to run that badly.

I guess the lesson here is to make lemonade out of lemons. Not quite sure how to do that yet, but we will see how the day goes.

Enjoy your day everyone!

my clean meal was dinner, whiting fish, baked, corn on the cob, fresh tomatoes, brown rice, and a few pita chips, baked, I guess I blew it there huh, actually the whole day, I ate quite clean, but I had ham this morning, and it is processed, oh well,
I walked for 60 minutes this evening and so my total mileage

goal 33 miles weekly

week 1 - 31.2
week 2 - 22.5 so far, 2 more days, I do not think I can make 33, but it is a goal,

Clean meal, breakfast: Oatmeal with raisins, cinnamon, and skim milk. If I add the cinnamon, I don't need to add salt.

Miles: A lousy 1.1 mile walk today. Tomorrow might be a little better. Week to date, 12.25 miles. Should hit my goal of 20 miles this week, but 30 looks unlikely.

Had a restaurant challenge yesterday. but I rocked it. Had mussels and bread. No wine--just water & lemon slice.

Was at work all day so I ran up four flights of stairs (48 steps each) 12 times during the course of the day (are my legs sore today!) No idea how many miles that was --probably only 1.

You guys rock............

My healthy cleaner meal today was breakfast - 3 rice cakes and a l-ittle natural peanut butter.
Coffee with skim milk..........................

I have eased up on dinner..................making my larger meal lunch and an almost no carbs or very low carb dinner. I hve tried to make each meal a little cleaner..................

its harder than I thought it would be.

Bought fresh almonds to snack on.............. and I still rely on dry cheerios when I need to snack.

My clean meal for today was breakfast again. My usual oatmeal, flax & blackberries. yummy! I still miss the extra sweetness from the Equal but I'm getting used to the honey.

Past 7 days have logged 500 fitness minutes. I guess my goal will be 550.

Hi Everyone,
No time for the gym tonight. Have to pack for a business then pleasure trip. I will be eating as clean as I can, but will still enjoy myself as we travel.

Dinner tonight for me will be fairly clean. Acorn squash is back in season and it is probably one of my favorites. Chicken breast is always good too.

Take care, everyone!

Everyone is doing so great!! Yesterday I had a wonderful workout at the pool. The resort we are at offers water aerobics in the morning. I will be going back today. I'm getting lots of exercise but have not calculated it into miles yet.

Clean eating? For lunch yesterday I had 1/2 sweet potato, black beans and grated cheese. This isn't very clean since the beans are canned but it's still a wonderful lunch.

Good Morning ,

No processed foods yesterday, sorry I did use bottled salad dressing with lunch. I'm eating like there is no tomorrow and staying within my weight goal range. My thought process is getting hazy, and lacking discipline. The late night snacks are in my head, I will not eat after 9pm for the rest of the week. WiseGirl, great job on keeping your head while on a business trip.

Mileage included a 5k run, 10 miles on a bike, and some moderate walking.
