Good Morning,

Todays objective is to keep my sanity, we had a new baby might be here happening yesterday a full month before my daughters due date. It's going to be a wet fall day here on the Island , we might be shut in and my granddaughter who is in the two year old range, it should be a challenge.

I great workout yesterday that included ST. and a very long jog/run almost 100 minutes for the run. I am feeling it today. I do belong to a Masters Runners ( over 40 ) site some of the accomplishments by these folks are mind boggling . I haven't stepped on the scale all week tomorrows weigh in should be interesting.

Way to go Jazz on your long run/walk, you should stop looking at those weights and start picking them up. Keep up the great work, you are one of my favorites,

Between raking leaves, Boot Camp gym workouts, intervals on elliptical and running. I'm keeping active. As MobyCarp says, "Weight is drifting down" only I'm still 6 lbs. from goal. It will happen. I'm tracking meals, sometimes a little low in calories, sometimes a bit high in fat. Am working on getting all that right.

Goal: Still below initial goal weight, with the weight drifting down.

Movement: Ran on my lunch hour, 25 minutes each Tuesday and Wednesday. Tuesday was a near-perfect sunny and 50 degrees, ran 3.49 miles in shorts and a tee shirt. Wednesday was 49 with drizzle, ran a slower 3.37 miles in slightly warmer attire.

I was on lower end of calorie count yesterday. did not get in a lot of movement. Yard work seems to keep me busy. Plan to take dogs for a walk today. Will be good for all three of us.
Watching what I am eating today. Have a great day everyone.

Good Morning All,
Yesterday was a good day here. I ate within range in spite of a mini candy bar from the Halloween stash. Hope Halloween comes soon and that I have lots of trick or treaters! I also went to the gym and ran on the treadmill. My stamina is coming back slowly but surely.

I have house guests coming for a quick visit, so I will need to go right home from work today and tomorrow. No time to go to the gym the next two days. I look forward to seeing my friends, but it will be a challenge because we will have more food around and also some wine. No exercise and extra food do not add up well. It is going to be difficult not to go backwards! emoticon

did a fast paced 11 mile walk yesterday............................. it goes faster than you think it would. I kept being amazed at how far along I was. Its much better when you have a specific destination to go to and back from...................... lets you know how far along you are.

My eating is ok ---- just ok - Im still eyeing up those weights and the dvd's. time to start real soon................ maybe my Nov challenge.

Good Morning,

It's Wednesday, a feel good day for me. I've got a lot cooking today, my first order of business is to get in a 90+ minute workout to include some strength.

Yesterday my plan went well, the night workouts really stink, I'm wired when I get home , and eat everything insight. I had some wakeup!!!! inner thigh cramps the past two days, it has to be the night stuff.

Kudos to you folks who get the workouts in after work or then go to work, you are an inspiration.

Finish Strong,

Good Afternoon All,
Yesterday was a good day here. I was at the low end of my calorie range for the first time in a long time. I actually woke up hungry in the middle of the night. Had a glass of water and went back to bed. I needed that after this past weekend. Also, I went to the gym after work and did a step class and some strength training.

Today is going to be good as well. What was that saying about discipline? I am going to make the decision to make the right choices? I have planned out my meals (low end again) and I am going to stick to it. Tonight after work I will go to the gym and run on the treadmill. I am still working on regaining some of the stamina I lost.

Enjoy the day everyone!

Going for a 10 mile walk today................... longest I think Ive ever done. I run a little = walk a little = run a little - walk a little................... not sure what my time will be. Not really worried about time today................... just want to make it.

Still procreastinating with getting started on strength training................ not sure why. I know I need it. I have dvd's and weights and everything I need. just a kick in the pants to get started is all thats missing I get.

the weather is getting cooler.................... hate to see the warm weather go.

Goal: Still in maintenance, a little below the downward revised goal weight.

Movement: Today was a day off from running. Went to the gym to lift weights after work. The improvement in my cardiovascular conditioning from running spills over and means I don't sweat as much lifting weights. Who would have guessed?

Good Afternoon,

What a great weekend, what a great day. It was a tough workout yesterday, I did manage to get to the gym and complete what I had to do. I did have a after party food hangover, it should take about two days to get it out of my system, it was worth it. ( how do you turn down birthday cake?)

I just got off the phone with a friend who had quadruple bypass surgery last Thursday, boy what these Drs can do is miraculous. A heavy drinker/smoker and an I don't give a damn eater it caught up to him. I'll bet you a dollar to a dime his habits change after this scare.

I plan on a night run tonight in the gym, it's to dangerous around here with the traffic, my objective is to stay healthy and not get hit by a car while doing so.

Stay Focused

Managed to get my exercise dvd and salad in yesterday.
I must work harder this week to make my goal to lose 2 lbs! Maybe 2 dvd's and 2 salads? I also have to "remember what I want"!
So sorry you missed your golf match, Wisegirl, you MUST have been hurting!

Happy Monday Everyone
Busy day here. After this weekend, I really need to stay at the low end of my calorie range for a couple days.

I plan on going to the gym after work today to do a step class. Saturday morning I did a boot camp class that hurt me so bad I cancelled a golf game on Sunday. I think my body needed a day of rest.
Enjoy the day everyone!

p.s. love the "remember what you want" thought

Kevin - I love the line in your post about Dicipline is remembering what you want. I think we should add to that by saying its remembering what you really want when you want something else at the moment.............................. I like it.

Ate out twice today and stayed completely in calorie range...........amazing.

Goal: The scale showed 4 pounds below goal this morning. I responded by revising goal downward by 2 pounds, and adding back some calories to the nutrition plan.

Movement: Ran 4.8 miles. I'd planned a bit longer, but toward the end my feet were telling me they'd had enough, so I chopped off a loop late in the route. I had perfect running weather this afternoon, sunny and 55 fahrenheit. I have a plan for what to wear out running in temps down to the mid 30s, but didn't have to test that plan today.

it was a cool and breezy day today............... the perfect day for my 15.5 mile bike ride. It was great. I had 3 visits to make during the day and I did them all with a long bike ride. I have to say my legs ache a little but not much.. emoticon something to shoot for at least one day of the weekend.

Calories are in range today................. not quite the right breakdown of carbs protein and fats but I am in range.............. I';ll take that. emoticon

Im working myself up -= or psyching myself up to weight train. I have to do it. I know I have to do it . So why cant I get started and stay with it? emoticon

without a doubt I am my own worse enemy. emoticon

But my general mood is good - my determination is getting there and those smaller jeans are calling to me again...............

Goal: Still below initial goal weight. I'm becoming more comfortable with the idea of my initial goal, 175, being the top of a maintenance range. I'm not sure whether the bottom should be 170, 165, or something in between.

Movement: I ran four days this week, including 5.31 miles in 40 minutes this morning. Missed my second weight lifting session in a Life Happening episode, but I'm OK with that.

Hello everyone,
Weigh in yesterday was good for me. I lost two of the pounds that I have previously lost. I was just a little over in calories yesterday and this morning those two pounds were back emoticon I don't usually drink during the week, but I do enjoy a glass of wine or two on the weekends. I wonder if the wine make you retain water and that contributes to the weight gain??? SunnyMary, I know what you mean about weekends. They derail me too!

Went to the gym this morning to a Boot Camp class. It is amazing how much this instructor can make you sweat and hurt using a light weight. Hopefully, this pain did me some good.

Dinner tonight is with daughter and her hubby at an Indian restaurant that they like to go to. I have planned my day so that I can enjoy some curry and a glass of wine. I liked your saying, Yanks. Not sure if the spark person is going to dinner or not.

Have a good weekend eveyone.

My weight remains the same for my Friday weigh-in but I did lose another inch and I am happy about that.
Weekends derail me! I did get my salad in yesterday but not my exercise DVD :(.
My son is in from out of state and my routine is different. We are going to get exercise today on the golf course!

Goal: Still maintaining, with little movement in my weight this week. :)

Movement: Wednesday I ran 3.3 miles at lunch. Thursday and Friday have been light days, with just walking between 12K and 13K steps. Nothing vigorous, just a relaxed day baseline.

Tomorrow I need to do a longer run.

Good morning,

I'm still feeling a bit tight , when I sit and get up yikes!!! I'm going to give it a try today, a long warm up session before I start anything .

Jazz maybe your stomach is shrinking, however you should you should try to eat a little something if you miss to many meals it can play havoc with your metabolism, and you will will get into that starve mode.( I'm preaching to the wrong person)

Friday weigh in went well , now if I can get my body to cooperate my mind will fall into a stress free zone.

Good Luck To All Today.

two very low calorie days............... for some unknown reason I dont have much of an appetite. I dont feel sick - just not picking and snacking. Ive been so busy during the day that I skipped lunch both yesterday and today. Not really deliberate - but I could have eaten lunch before I went out and didnt. Didnt compensate by pigging out for dinner. Tomorrow Im going back to 3 regular meals.

Am planning to run about 3.5 miles this evening.. but need to let my food digest for the evening.

Hoping everyone is doing well............. Im going to weigh in tomorrow morning and Im hoping to see a number like 135..................... emoticon

Good Afternoon,

I've been on the shelf for the past two days with lower back issues. I have never had any back problems in the past this is quite new to me. I popped a couple of advil this morning, very little relief.

My short term objective is to rid myself of this discomfort, I'm just going to take it easy for the rest of today and see what happens in the AM.When your body is used to 90 plus minutes a day of some type of vigorous cardio and you come to a complete halt it plays havoc with your head.

Friday is weigh in day good luck to all. mmmmmHalloween candy.

Morning All,
Not a bad day yesterday. I did not have time for exercise, but I did manage to stay within calorie range. Small victory for me.

Today should be easier. I am in the office all day and plan on going to the gym to go to a strength training class after work. I seem to work harder when I am in a class.

I made the mistake of buying some Halloween candy last trip to Costco. Wonder why I bought the kind that I like? emoticon Hubby and I have gotten into the habit of having a "trick or treat" after dinner. Not a good habit.

Enjoy your day everyone!

Ahh Wisegirl, the rain has caught up to me today! Had my bowling league this morning so we didn't have to worry about the weather for that. But it is dreary for sure. I will enjoy the nice weather any chance I get because the winter will set in before we know it!

Had a big salad for lunch and will do a 22 min DVD and 20 min on the treadmill.
Have a great day all! emoticon

Morning Everyone,

My challenge today is going to be to stay in calorie range. I am meeting my parents for dinner tonight at their club for "Pasta night". I think I have it figured out so that I can have pasta for dinner and still be in range.

The down side to today is that there will not be time to go to the gym today. It is cold, raw and rainy here, so a lunch time walk is out of the question. I went to the gym last night after work and ran. This is only the second run after a hiatus of about 1 month. I was amazed at how much stamina I'd lost. I really struggled toward the end, but got through it.

Have a good one everyone.

p.s. SunnyMary, you are so lucky to have nice weather today.

Goal: Held below 175, which was my initial goal. I'm beginning to think of maintenance as being roughly the 170-175 range. If I end up dropping below that, I won't be immediately worried; but the weight shouldn't be moving quickly now.

Movement: Ran 2.98 mile in somewhere between 20 and 21 minutes on my lunch hour. The imprecision is because I forgot to look at my watch right when I started, oops. But at least I'm holding to the goal of adding running to my regular exercise.

my eating has been very good = Ive been cycling a little doing very low calories one day and then staying in range the next day.
Headed out now to do a kettlebell one hour workout. I think thats the perfect strength training class for me to try to make.................

the scale dropped 2 pounds and this morning read 135 again. I stepped on it 3 times because I didnt believe it. Each time I stepped on it - it read the same number so I guess I really did lose 2 pounds.

Morning Everyone,
Good day for me yesterday. My challenge is going to be to reverse the trend of gaining back the weight that I have already lost. Yesterday was a step in the right direction. Stayed within calorie range and drank lots of water.

Move - I went to the gym after work did a step class and then 30 minutes of strength training.

I plan on having a good day today too. I planned my meals this morning. It always works better when I figure out what I can eat earlier in the day. Now I just need to stick to it. I am making a conscious effort to increase my calcium intake. I know that there is lots of calcium in dark green vegetables, but there is even more in milk. It was a little tricky working 24 oz. of milk into my calories, but I did it. I do take a calcium supplement, but I think it is probably better to just eat more calcium.

Tonight after work I will go back to the gym and run. I lost the most weight when I was running. I need to make time to do that more often....

It seems like I am always running......errands, work, etc. It is just not the right kind!
Enjoy your day everyone! emoticon

Hope you can get some rest and feel better soon, brightlight emoticon
Yesterday I did a Rockin Body DVD and had a small salad at lunch and dinner.
Still working on losing 2 lbs this month.
Thanks for the water reminder, I do seem to consume less when it is not hot.
Have a great day everyone!

Did okay today. Managed 20 minutes on the exercise bike. Kept within all my eating limits (a mini miracle). Drank, drank, drank water. And generally had a good day.

Goal: Held below goal weight with a mere 0.8 pound gain after yesterday's cheat day.

Movement: Today, a walk at lunch (2.77 miles) on a non-running day, and I got to the gym to lift weights this evening.

Good Afternoon,

It looks like we are all putting on a bit of winter weight, I do think that is a fact.
A great day yesterday, ran for a good cause , there was a pretty good turnout, no rain, very hilly and very windy.
The old man made the podium, I finished third in my age group and 75th overall. You had to see some of the kids that were there, it wrenches at every part of your body and mind.
We were on team Kaylee, a beautiful little girl who we all ran and walked with in our hearts.

Todays goal is to keep reminding myself how blessed I am, even when I think things are in the toilet I have to find a bright side, someone has a worse situation.

Stay Healthy, emoticon
