Bonnie,

Good decision not to drive when you are so tired. I hope you sleep tonight.

Helen, who lives down the hall went to the ER a little while ago. She tripped over her walker in her kitchen while trying to do two things at the same time. Her meals on wheels came and they were sitting on her walker in front of her little freezer plus she was cooking ground beef and macaroni on her stove. Our kitchens are very tiny. Helen is 90 and doesn't move around very steady at times. She was complaining about her leg and hip. Ruth followed the ambulance to the ER to explain things to Helen. Faith was at Helen's when she fell so she called 911. They had just finished doing a picture board of a former tenant who passed away this month. The picture board is for the family. Anyway, I put away all the food and washed her dishes and then Faith locked Helen's door when we left.

It has been raining most of the day but it isn't cold out. I haven't paid any attention that tomorrow is the first day of Spring. Cool!!

Always something going on here.

I can so identify with forgetting an appointment. I must write everything down on my calendar and check it each morning. Even then sometimes I get confused! LOL

I am ok. I decided that I am too tired to drive to my pedicure appointment. It is not really close to my house, and I have read so many statistics about driving while tired being worse than driving while drunk, that I try hard not to do that

I will sleep tonight!

Bonnie, I hope you feel better as the day goes by.

Dale

When I had a tenant, she was the tenant from hell. Its very hard to find people you can trust so I really hope that you do find a good person.

Today was supposed to be a quiet day as it's a Feast Day here, the Feast of St. Joseph. So there I am messing around in my little yard and just put a small leg of pork in the oven, when the doorbell rang and it was Louise my student. I had totally forgotten she was coming. Her usual lesson is on Saturday so that was when I was expecting her. So I had to give up on my yard and tuck into a lesson. Actually, we had a good laugh and it finished with her not wanting to go home, which was great.

I used to have long hair but the heat was too much and so I cut it short. I colour it because going gray here is a challenge, there are very few ladies with gray hair. Maltese women are very much aware of their appearance no matter the age. When I went gray, it looked great really quite elegant until a so called friend told me that her mother had let herself go when she was 70, so I ran for the bottle (hair dye of course). Since then I've tried it twice but each time I looked in the mirror, I got depressed lol. My husband would love it if I went gray just to keep up with him.

Oh, BRENDA

I forgot to tell you that there is a newer Stephen King paperback novel that you might like. It is a departure for him and I really liked it. It is called "Joyland".

Just sayin'

MACI

Happy Birthday. Hope you have another good day today.

BRENDA

My heart really goes out to you and the whole city from that terrible helicopter accident. What a sad event.

Did not sleep very well last night, not too much energy today. Have an appointment for a pedicure at 5:15pm. About all I will do today. It is rainy and dreary also.

DALE

Sorry the tenant did not work out. Glad you are so wise as to not count on her, or allow her to live with you with such a sketchy resume and attitude.

Prayers for someone who will be good for you.

Not really thinking much right now, so just going to say have a good day, and rest a bit before my appointment.

I have a very hard time taking naps, have to wear my Cpap, so I usually don't, too much trouble, but today I really wish I could have.

Dale, I also think Blake is very dangerous and he needs serious help Right Now! before he does harm to his sister. Ignoring him is not the way to go. Basically he assaulted his sister and CPS or the police should have been called. I would have.

Maci,

Dick and Jane books are the ones I learned to read at school. " Oh Oh, see Spot, see spot run, see Spot jump, see Spot run and jump." I think I have a couple of them in my book shelf. My birthday is coming up April 2nd, will be 72 this year. My middle son just had his 50th birthday March 10th. That's three of my children in their 50's now. My, they are getting old!

I'm now in charge of putting the Welcome and Birthday signs on doors here when we get a new resident and when people have birthdays. Jill gave me a new supply yesterday. I asked her if I have to put my own Happy Birthday sign on my door. She said she will do it. LoL. When I left the office yesterday she was coloring my sign. Residents really like the signs, it makes them feel special. Carlene is in charge of putting out the birthday cards on the table in the Community room for residents to sign. It is her birthday as well as mine this month. We are the only two.

Have a good day everyone. I plan to.

Wed March 19th: 145 (3rd day) ... emoticon :-(

...so I just boiled 3 eggs. I must pull my act together!

Michelle,
No, it does not look so good for that tenant. She wants the lease to go to someone who will help her pay but I asked for the info on who that person is and didn't get it back. Hesitatingly yesterday morning, I put the ad back up. April 1st is right around the corner so if she was on the up and up she would have pressed me to exchange our paper work and included her reference contact. I need to know who is backing her lease so something is fishy. I'll let you know if it all clears up today.

Sammi, MaryAnn, Bonnie
- and who else is healing an injured body part? Becoming humble and being patient but never giving up on ourselves is a heady mix. Three parts our responsibility, and the rest is out of our hands (so to speak - wink). You are each doing your part. Good jobs!

Bonnie,
I wore my hair short for years and could return there but for now have it long, past my shoulders, for a change of pace. Like you, I finally stopped coloring it but I do feel that my natural grey and white combo does lower my youthful appearance down some notches. If I could afford it I might keep coloring and cutting, but this stage of hairstyle (or lack thereof!) is what my budget can support. So many bills above my monthly intake is quite the strain.

Maci,
Your grandson and granddaughter need long term intervention and if not now, definitely in years to come. He is dangerous now, which is something that cannot be pushed aside by your daughter. Yet she does so. I wish your daughter would attend domestic abuse counseling classes. It all pivots around what she accepts, doesn't it? Making babies is such an easy thing to assume. The rest of their lives and all those who they share their lives with will forever be imprinted. How does your husband handle his son in law or grandson's abuses? Does he still just stay away from him?

Cathy,
The last snow pleased me because I saw it just as a beautiful scene to send us off into spring from. Today will possibly rain and the rest of the cold weather will linger into April for sure. But one day at a time. Bad weather is an inconvenience but no longer bad in my mind, unless it is treacherous weather, in which case harm comes.

Brenda,
The accident sounds very, very upsetting. I'm so sorry.
We will have a memorial service next week for one of the young shop workers who were killed by a random gunman. The guy who killed them and himself lived 40 minutes away so it's a shame he came to our town mall to go bezerk. (spell bezerk for me please - bizzerk?)

ELIZA,
Glad you are happy.

I love you all,
Dale the p tiger

Yes, Sammi I am right sideup again! The only ramifications of that sleepless night are that My bottom lip broke out in canker sores, I slept through my walking yesterday, and My tennis day the day after I did w/o any sleep. That wasn't my best day on the courts. All temporary, but yesterday was so successful, it was as successful as the day before wasn't! Good and bad days in extreme.

Today up to take the kids to school. Kacie told me she was gonna pick them up last night, they always spend the night on Tues nights, she was flexing her muscles, luckily she either forgot or moved on and decided to let it go. I just said "Ok, I will have them ready for you"
After Brianna and I walked Addie (11) to church youth group, I ended up taking brianna to meet a new little girl at our park, they had so much fun, she is developing lots of friends here, and it's feels so safe letting them all ride bikes etc. We are on the last street so the only people who drive here, live here. Yesterday was such a success!

Today after tennis, my friend Annie is taking me for a bday lunch than I get to watch my new gbaby Madilyn for her mom's first day back to work, She is so cute, a little butterball bundle. My 2nd DD is such a loving caring mom it's gonna be torture for her to leave her, she made sure all those of us who watched her are gonna love her up. My times are M,W.F after tennis and lunch till she gets home. 12-3:30. My friend Yvonne has her until then. (she;s more excited than me) The other 2 gmas each have a full day. T & Th.

Then taking Brianna to scouts and visiting my mom while she is there, my mom is thrilled. That is my new plan for scouts everyother wk. It's across town by my mom, so I thought I would just make it Mom time, it seems it always hard for us to meet up, with my tennis and lunches, her water arobics, yoga and exercise classes. we are both busy till noon,. Then we both hybernate in our homes. I am gonna take my swimsuit and we love to hang in the jacuzzi. She says we are water frogs.

As I am typing brianna is reading to me, she is reading from the book "Dick and Jane" it was a school book in the 40's. Do any of you know it? See Spot run! etc. She loves reading it, it makes her feel so confident. Yesterday I bought her a tracing book at the 99 cent store, she did that earlier. She is an early riser. Me too! Off to rest my eyes abit than start the fixing of bkfst and lunches, luckily hubs always does the school driving while I get in my tennis clothes on, we are both playing this morning, he is a great player. Even better than me (some days!) teehee. Have a wonderful sparkling day ladies!

Good morning Sparklers --- it's still dark outside --- drinking my one cup of coffee and waiting to go walking.

Maci, sounds like you are right side up again.

Sunny, keep getting better and smile from the inside out. One of the things that makes me happy when I'm a little down is to walk through a greenhouse or nursery full of lovely flowers and plants. It's supposed to be a little like meditating. I always leave with a smile.

Michele, glad you can see some signs of Spring.

Brenda, I did see a brief story on the news about the crash --- so sad.

Bonnie, you sound good.

Cathy, no more snow.

I'm going to finish my coffee and go walking. Have a wonderful day. Think Spring, Sammi

I read everyones posts, so good to hear you all. I didn't take notes as usual, to much to do ,and not enough time to do it, hubs just ran back the redbox and I am racing the clock to spark before he gets back. He spent all day doing errands w/gson blake and I did the same w/brianna, hubs needs some me time!

The thing that made me chuckle first was that sunny felt like she had dulltime. What is that? My life is always on FF! I started cracking up. I guess that shows how tired i am! teehee.

Then the dirt clod story, no kidding! These new parents have their heads and minds in their phones, the teens too! I think it's great Marie that you can get past the cell phone stare! They must be off limits!

You will all be happy to know I left Blake alone that night, oh but I wanted to storm in and ring him a new one, instead I write over an hr long msg to a sparkfriend. (you know who you are!) that was a lifesaver for Blake! teehee. Thank you all for letting me tell my story here.

so sad about the helicopter. well hubs just walked in, gotta go! Good night sparksista's! Off to finish my night up w/hubs.

Oh life is good. we are all gonna do this thing called life the best we can. Sad to say the feelings that I experienced the other night threw me into a candy tailspin, today getting it all out of here, so the next time I will have to put on my tennis shoes and walk for my fixes! Learning to do better, one day at a time!

It's been a very sad day since 7:40 this morning when the KOMO 4 news helicopter crashed and burned near the base of the Space Needle in Seattle, killing the pilot and photographer. It was taking off from the top of the news building and something happened and it just fell to the ground landing on one car and narrowly missing many on the street. The man in the car got out and he was on fire but the security guard grabbed him and rolled him on the ground. Firemen were there in less than five minutes and the man was whisked off to Harborview Hospital Burn Center and he is in critical condition with burns on 25% of his body, mostly on his back. Newscasters were having a hard time keeping their emotions in check and a few just broke down. Tears were streaming down my face all morning, it is so sad. Many people didn't make it to work downtown this morning because traffic was a nightmare. One man was sitting at the light when he saw the helicopter falling toward him, gunned his engine and sped across the intersection just in time or he would have no doubt been killed.

I know what you mean about needing new shoes. Before my back and knees were so bad that they needed surgery, I used to know by the extra pain in all of that, when I needed new shoes too.

Hope the new shoes help you regain your balance with everything. You can do this. One day at a time. We are all with you.

MARIE

What a wonderful job to be able to help and be a friend to young people. I can certainly understand you feeling a bit melancholy when your time with them is coming to an end.

I know that taking care of my great nieces, and my great grandnephew for the last 10 years has certainly been the most rewarding work I have ever done.

I will have these children in my life for the rest of my life, so for me it is a bit easier because they are also my family.

Know that you have made an impact on them for sure.

SUNNY

You are right, it is a long struggle, but I keep telling myself that I am going in the right direction. I know you are going through the same thing with your rehab. Glad you are able to post a bit.

Hope hubs is feeling better today. Hope you are better as well.

"Spring is coming this week" From your mouth to God's ears!

MICHELE

My niece is a very good hair stylist. She has done my hair for about 16 or 17 years. Before my first knee surgery, I had a different stylist cut all of my hair off so I would not have to deal with it after surgery. Chris did not have an opening because my surgery was scheduled quickly, and she is very busy.

Between surgeries, she cut it very short again. I have always had my hair colored, but between surgeries, we could see that the color in the front of my hair had gone to a decent looking white, instead of the old steel gray. So, we decided to stop coloring it.

Now, I don't have to go to the salon any more, she just cuts it on the day that she cuts my mom and dad's.

I find that I really do like my hair really short. One time, my niece in Texas told me that she had always liked my hair best when it was really short, and I have come to agree with her.

So, I am happy with my hair cut! I call it my "wash and go" hair!

Picked Gracee up from school today, and this was our day to have time alone together. Brielle was home with her dad, and Max and Ellee were bowling. Gracee really loves the days we have along together. She is my little love.

She is going to be in a little play at school, so she got her stuffed animal "cowie", and her blanket, and sat on my lap with them, and read and sang to me the whole play. It was pretty cute.

Then she said she was going to do the Can Can in the show. Well, not to be outdone, I got up and did a bit with her.

My knee was already kind of stiff, but now it is really stiff! That's ok, I have to use it.

I must tell you about my experience while I was waiting for her outside the school door after school.

There was a young boy, and a man, who I am hoping was NOT his father, but probably was waiting for one other child to come out the door.

The boy was moving big clods of dirt with his shoe onto the sidewalk, breaking them up and moving the dirt all over the sidewalk. The man stood there looking at his phone, and told the boy to stop, but did not see to it that he did. Finally, I could stand it no longer. I told the boy "that is quite a mess you are making on the sidewalk". The boy began to move the clods of dirt back into the yard, trying to clean up the mess.

The man, still looking at his phone, said, "someone will clean it up, it is not my job, the janitor can do it". I so wanted to tell him that his job WAS to teach the boy how to behave and get along in society, and to pay attention to him and put his damn phone in his pocket and turn it off.

I never spoke to him at all. But, when the boy was trying to clean up his mess, I told him "Thank you". I am still incensed over the behavior of the grown man. The child had the sense to listen and understand that he was making a mess for the rest of us to walk in.

There are so many people that need to learn to raise children. I did not have children myself consciously because I felt it was too difficult of a job for me to do well. And, doing that job well is very important.

I know this has always gone on, people just not being parents, but it drive me crazy.

I will stop now, because I could go on and on. The dirt on the sidewalk was just not that big a deal, but the man's behavior was absolutely terrible.

OK, that's off my mind.

Have a good evening my friends and God Bless.

Bonnie

Cathy more snow?? Spring is coming this week, I hope someone has told the snow maker to turn off the machine.

Maci it is hard watching those you love struggle.

Michele the DH is really pretty good when he is sick. The real problem is that he some chronic issues that flare up. He tries to ignore them until he is sick. He went to DR yesterday for meds and is feeling better.

Bonnie glad you are doing well. It is a long struggle and getting to feeling good is just wonderful.

Having a quiet day after a PT session. It has been eight weeks and my hand is better but it is still months away from getting full function back. It complains when I post for too long.

Feeling a little dull these days. Have not had a lot of energy to do much and I still cannot drive very far. So when the DH is ill we just stay home. I need to get out to the Library to pick up a few books. Have not felt like reading for a while, just not able to concentrate for very long.

Pretty sunny day so I am going to go sit outside for a while.

Well I missed our Top O the morning yesterday Spark Sisters!! I am getting back into the swing but I have so much to do before going back to work tomorrow...UGH emoticon
I have errands to run today that I could not do since we received another 5 -6 inches of snow!! And it was extremely heavy this time due to the ground being warmer it was all slush underneath. I just cleaned off the car and the part of the driveway that I needed clean since it is to be in the mid 50's by tomorrow. When I got up this morning a lot of it has melted down to nothing where I shoveled and road have melted completely. Hopefully that is the last of this nonsense for the year!!

Sunny, I hope your husband feels better soon. This stomach bug is everywhere right now. I hope I can avoid it.

Bonnie, sounds like you had a busy day. It does feel good with the sun shining on you!!! How is the haircut? I did have a great time with my friends. The weather cut it short but she will be back here next month!!!

Maci, you are very lucky to have someone that can speak with them especially for free. It is important that they get their feelings out. I took Devon to see someone when she could not understand why I took her father to court to pay his support. Now as an adult she has not seen him in almost 10 years, his loss. I doubt he even knows that she had Max. But having someone that is not close to the situation is good for them, they know that they are listening to their needs, fears, and thoughts. Having read your posts I would have my protective shield up for that precious little girl too. I can not imagine how scared she was. You can only be there for the kids, give guidance to Blake as he will accept it, and offer suggestions to your daughter. But that is a fine line as you said, if you go too far you will not have the kids there. And they would be the ones to suffer. Your Spark Sisters are here for you always. The lioness came out in you, protecting your own. Never apologize for that, to anyone. It is what a real Mother does, it is in our soul.

Dale, thanks for the kinds words. I need that right now to gain my balance again. But I am committed to do just that regain and move on!!! I tell myself we are not perfect. I will reward my regaining my balance with new walking/running shoes today. I think this is why my knee/ legs hurt so much it is time for new shoes!!

Sammi, how is yoga these days??

Michele, just company, cleaning, chores....the usual. Stumbled a bit with my company here, but I am refocusing. It was just a stumble not a full fall emoticon !! How are things with you? Keep moving in the right direction you have been gaining some momentum lately. Great job!!!

Marie, how is the weather there? And I hope your husband is feeling better.

Time to get moving and I need to do that in more ways than one!!! Have an awesome day!

There are so many people that we come to know in our lives, some stay and some go and some just hang around, but we are blessed with these people as they have so much to give. I love the teenagers I teach. They are full of life and ideas and open to sharing what they believe in or not. I shall really miss them with when the lessons finish at the end of April.

I can only hope that I have helped them as much as I can. They all know they have a friend if they need one. Some of this children came to me for lessons when they were 9 years old and now they 15/16. Some even come back in their 20's. Its such a joy.

I am so glad you have a friend who will see the kids for free. The example of his father, the treatment he receives from his father, and the anger that he is living with have to so very hard on him. Thus, it is terrible for his sister.

You are doing everything that you can, and my prayers are with all of you. It is a very tough situation. God Bless all of you.

Went to mom and dad's this morning and Christy came and cut all of our hair. Had a nice visit with all three of them. Mom and I played a couple of games of Pinocle.

Had an appointment with my surgeon, so stopped in to see my physical therapists, they are right next door to the doctor's office, and all of them and the doctor think I am doing very well. Will be going back again on October.

Stopped and had a sandwich at a local restaurant that has a little sunroom you can sit in. Sat in the sun and read my Nook for quite awhile. It was very cold but the sun felt great.

All is well. Have a great week my friends.

Thanks Marie, i have a tennis friend who is a child psychologist and she has agreed to see them both this wk. I have taken Blake to her in the past when he wanted to understand his parents divorse issues, it was amazing how great she was. She even sees them for free. I am very lucky.

Thank your for the kind words, I don't feel so strong sometimes.

Maci, I am glad you didn't delete it. We all have crisis sometime in our lives and when iits someone close it hits hard. I can only imagine the hell of it at the moment, but it will pass. As long as you are there for Brianna, that's what counts. You are a very strong woman.

Breaking the chain of events... taking a nap, if possible and enjoying my day, will not make this posting on my sparkstreet about this anymore except a quick update. Was gonna erase it than thought , no i am gonna share it, maybe some of you might have some insight for me. Please feel free to tell me how to delicately handle this so my influence w/Brianna stays in tact. I love everyone involved but Brianna is the main concern for me, she is to precious, loving and special to have them taint her soul. I am on a mission to be her soul loving protective gma. Have a great sparkling day ladies, drama is part of life, mine is just a bit extreme in this area, but in others it's so very unimportant.

Life is good, go out there and live it!

Havent' slept a wink tonight, so much going on inside my head, The kids got home w/ drama at best, the worst of it was when brianna started crying that she almost died yesterday, she said Blake put a pillow on her head and sat on it, and the pillow went in her mouth and and she couldn't breathe. It seems their dad left them alone all day at the Brothers home and searched for carparts. Blake it seems didn't have the kind of bday he wanted. It's a shame, now the Brianna drama I want so bad to go into his room yank him out of bed and say "if you ever tough that precious girl again, I will beat the crap out of you" problem is that his mom won't do anything about it. It just seems like this situation just grows and grows. If I take the chance to talk to my DD (which i will) she will prob drag the kids out of my hands. She does not want anyone seeing the neglect. I wanted to call CPS myself tonight when Brianna showed me what he did.

The only worse option than my DD is their Dad. Everyone else in our family is so into them, and their wellbeing. my DD is self absorbed, into herself, her exercise and doesn't want to face anything, the only thing I told her to do about the kids being off radar today, was to make sure she talks to blake personally, so she could find out if Mike is just up to his usual shinanigans or if they are actually in trouble. She has had many drunken violent car episodes w/him in the past. this way we can know if they are safe or not, her response was for me to Chill. At 10pm she would call the cops! What cha gonna do?

Today is a new day filled w/possibilitys, I am having lunch w/my DD2, mandi, I have a fun tennis practice today and hopefully I will be able to stay awake for it all. All I can do , is all I can do, than let go. The way Blake treats Brianna has always been a concern for me, and I have Brianna everytime my DD is at work because of it, among other things. But I cannot change it, I can only warn against it. Yes, the boy needs counceling, but his mom does a session than gives up. We have all suggested it many times, looks like I am going to be suggesting it again. Most of his Dads violent episodes include him and are directed at him, usually it's when he is coming back from a visit and he yells at him as he is leaving calling him a wimp, etc for going home to Mommy. What a jacka**! No wonder Blake is so angry, I would be too, and to think his dads jeans run through him is just scary.

My mom worrys we are gonna be reading about him someday in the papers, my other DD says she won't let her daughter around him, because he has always been cruel to her DD, even at age 3, My DD1 (his mom) says Boys will be boys and that kids fight etc. and if oblivious and my DD3 thinks that there is hope he will can become the man she hopes he will be, I have hope too, but watch like a hawk. I push hubs on him all the time to train him to be a good man. Hubs says it's really hard but does his best. Lord help my gson be better, happier and well adjusted, life is to good and he has alot of people who love him. Hope he can feel it.
This morning I am going to start w/a good bkfst , vits and tennis. My life is good, I am gonna live it!

MACI,
I know it is torture having a son in law who is so dangerously unhealthy in your lives. I feel for you. If only he would go away or have a magic spell work over him or get replaced by a step father who was just the opposite... (Big sigh on my part.)

BONNIE, and folks near maintenance -
Yes, I know there are maintenance teams. But there are folks here, too. For me, because I 12 step, I think I have to be in a mix so that I never forget where I came from. I am also a presence on the team where others can find that reinforcing to strive toward. If this team doesn't shake out that way, it's okay. There are so many factors to living HEALTHY besides the scale that someone can be on maintenance in some areas and just working on another. Ya know what I mean?

MICHELE,
No tenant this month. I simply met her on Saturday and will draw up a 6 month lease to begin with for April. There's plenty for me to do before the end of this month. Her name is Carmenmarie (one name).

CATHY,
You may not post all the time but I think you are doing pretty well with your recovery program.

BRENDA,
Waving at you up in the NW corner.

SAMMI,
Waving at you in the SE corner.

MARYANN,
Waving at you in the SW corner.

awe...................shucks, USE OUR FINE TUNING CHALLENGE with me, y'all.

Okay kiddies, it's time to go out in the snow and walk the poor pooch. He's going to have a new lifestyle and he doesn't know it. I'm going to have to make his bed in the cage that's stored away so that he can't just jump off my bed and use the tenant's room. Yeah, Yuck!!!
But it's MY responsibility to see that this can't happen. Before this year it never did so enough is enough now.

I just thought about you asking for maintenance members. Have you checked to see if there is a thread specifically for maintenance? You probably thought of it already, but just in case you didn't.

Hi ladies old fears are starting to set in. The gkids were supposed to be dropped off here at 2pm, and they are not here, I have texted Blake a few times to have him ask his dad when they will get here, no reply.

It is the first time in awhile he has had them since he lost custody before summer. He is only allowed supervised visitations because of his refusal to go by the court rules w/anything, and his constant angry violent outbursts.

I am not going to live this! I am not going to live this! I am not going to live this! (there I smacked the magic shoes) My fears are running rampant. It's been along time since I have had these fears, I don't miss them. time to refocus, I cant do anything about what others are doing and worry is only self torture.

I will refocus and think for the best! I will dream that maybe Blake and his dad are having a great time celebrating his 13th bday and they just forgot to think about time. I hoped and prayed that they would hve a wonderul day togehter, maybe my prayers are coming true. I care much more about blakes bday than my worries. I can hardly breathe.

So glad you are all here, thank you for being by best friends in time of need. No worries things will all work out they always do. I said just that today to hubs, as we were coming home from church. Everyday I write to god and say a thank you for something and a please bless something, everyday it's different. This tells me that all problems are in transant and eventually work out just as they should. Life is good, trust in god and hope for the best is my plan!

You are really doing well on maintenance, just like Sammi. Ups and downs can be expected, but you have stayed very close for quite a while. WOO HOO.

Glad you have a new renter. Prayers that you get along and have a great relationship, and that it lasts if it is good.

I am tired again just listening to all you do. Hope your birthday swim party is great fun for all.

Lazy day for me, but tomorrow will be busy, and have quite a bit going on for the rest of the week.

Oh my Spark Sistas how I have missed you all!!!! It has been a very busy few days with friends in town and it got cut short today with the chance of more snow!!! My best friend had to leave this morning instead of tomorrow to get home to PA before the snow. We were both very disappointed.

I have tried to read through the posts but there are so many. I am just going to pick up here and move forward.

Welcome to all of the new arrivals and I am sure I will get up to speed with your events soon emoticon

Maci, Dale, Michele, Eliza, Bonnie, Brenda, Pat, Sunny, Laura, Marie I missed you all!!! If I missed anyone I am sorry.

Back to the straight and narrow. ( I had to use my wider road the last few days). But I did get 3 days of exercise in during these last 5 days of fun filled girl frenzy!!! 2 days I walked 5 miles and today I did the gazelle and some kettle weights.

I will post more tomorrow.

SUNDAY MARCH 16th: 141.5 emoticon

Would All Maintenance Members Please write to me? emoticon

Exhale! emoticon I finally got a new tenant who will come in April 1st. The room has been painted and looks good. So Friday (painting) and Saturday (interviewing) all came together, thank you Higher Power. Although I do want a long term person I am going to start with a 6 month lease and then we can draw up another when the time comes if it is to be.

Bringing a new person in is always anxiety provoking to me because I really like to live alone energetically and have folks come but not be there every single day. We do what we must and I AM grateful I have a place to live.

Besides all that I had a FABULOUS walk with Sara (neighbor/friend) that was possible due to perfect weather conditions for us both (60s, sunny and windy). GREAT..

The first quarter of our Team's FINE TUNING CHALLENGE has only two weeks left to it before we put up a fresh thread for spring. COME NOW. YOU SET YOUR FINE TUNING GOALS.

It's been quite a winter for many of us. But it's OVER no matter WHAT the weather of the day holds for us. emoticon emoticon emoticon

And for those who love GREEN, emoticon May it come in all good forms!

I love you all,
Dale the P Tiger

Michelle, they were thank you.

It was a beautiful day today, sunny windy and and warm. My dh and I went out for lunch today and it was lovely. The portions were perfect. I was sorry that they didn't do a fruit salad, they only did single items like an orange or an apple so I had nothing and waited until I got home. So I said no to gateau and cake.

It seems there are a lot of us who enjoy reading.

SAMMI

Glad your yoga is back to normal. I know how you enjoy it.

REENAY
I am with you. I really need some warm weather. It is freezing and windy here today. Was supposed to go to my mom and dad's for dinner today, but I am not braving this stinking wind. They live on the other side of the river, so I have to go over a bridge to get there, and that is not fun in the wind. I would still go if it were not so very cold.

Have to go to their house in the morning, my niece is coming over to cut all of our hair.
Mom is fixing me a dinner to go. I will spend some time with them in the morning.

Have an appointment with my surgeon at 1:00pm. Will be glad to get his take on how my knees are doing. I am sure they are doing well, but the surgeon's opinion will be good to hear.

Guess that is about all I know since last night, as I have not left the house!

Wishing you all a wonderful day, and great new week.

It's a lovely day today, a bit breezy, but pleasant. Tomorrow will be thunderstorms most of the day, some may come with high winds. Didn't know til I moved here that this is the lightening capital of the world. So, if you hear thunder, even off in the distance, go inside.

I'm not much of a meat eater, but I do like Turkey Rubens -- they are so good.

Currently reading The Healing Code --- very interesting book. I like to read once in a while, and usually choose different flavor books --- a mystery, a bio, health related and just silly and entertaining. I read a book many years ago called the after dinner gardening book. It was funny and fun.

Michele, Yoga is good again. Our teacher is back a few days a week. You do feel it when you're done. Love, love, love yoga.

Brenda, laughed out loud, too funny.

Have a wonderful day my Sparkling Friends, Sammi emoticon Clap your hands!

Have a joyful Heart

You had me laughing out loud for sure. I was tickled to hear of your 96 year old friend being able to manage the stairs on her walker, and to be singing a great happy song. But the idea of the prizes she gives just cracked me up.

Thanks for the great laugh.

Actually, I am not even sure that I finished reading the last Clan book. But the others were really interesting and kept me interested all the way through.

SUNNY

Glad you are able to get out a bit now. As you can see I totally understand that process, and how difficult it is.

Hoping that if you wrap your fingers it will give you more relief. You will heal. I promise! Thoughts and prayers coming your way.

Just hoping that the PT is helping.

LAURA

Glad you had a great day and treated yourself.

I have enjoyed the Dean Koontz "Odd Thomas" series. Have missed I think the last one or two, but will catch up.

I actually think I have missed a couple of Stephen King's latest books. I like to have the hardbound copies, and right now, they are just too expensive. The nook book for Dr Sleep only cost me, about $12 or $13. I figure that one day I will run into the hard copy for $1 at a garage sale, or a thrift shop.

I have an entire small 3 shelf bookcase in my bed/sitting room with many of my Stephen King hardbound copies.

I have another bookcase about the same size with my Dean Koontz hardbound books in the dining room.

I really love having books. I have a brand new set of the Harry Potter series that I bought at a flea market quite a few years ago. They look as though they have never been read. I had already read them all, but just fun to have them. I am really bad about books. I only paid $25 for the entire set.

The kind of funny thing about my buying the Potter series is that the person I was buying them from caught me smelling them. I was checking to make sure that they were in English, and that they appeared to not be bad copies in some way. But, I was smelling them because I am very sensitive about smoke, and am careful to never bring things into my house that have smoke smell.

I saw the guys looking at me, and started to laugh. I explained to them why I was smelling them, and they laughed too. Told me they had been in a tote storage container, no smoke.

Having to be more economical these days, thus missing some of the hardbound copies of my favorites.

If anyone is really interested in reading the books by my friend Nina Wright, they are all on Amazon, or at least they were, think they still are. They are printed in paperback, so not terribly expensive.

I really like the Whiskey books, but to tell the truth I really enjoyed the paranormal teen novels even better. they did not sell as well, so she has not written any more of them.

Actually, once she began writing and having books published, I learned a lot about how these small publishing houses work. They don't do any real publicity for the books, so it is very difficult for people to find them.

She does have a following in the Afghan Hound community, because one of the main characters is an Afghan Hound. There are several other animals introduced throughout the series, and there is a pretty cool kid named Chester.

I really enjoy her characters, they are actually mostly character driven stories with mysteries.

Have had a pretty good day. Hope you all have too.

God Bless and have a good Sunday my friends.

We lost our lights for a couple hours this afternoon. Liz heard on the radio that it was caused by someone's mylar baloon. It got caught in the wires. We heard a lot of sirens all over town. It was the fire trucks and police cars heading downtown. Our hall emergency lights only stayed on about an hour. They are battery operated and I thought all the batteries had been recently changed. Our halls are really dark. Many of us went down the stairs to the lobby and sat and talked. We all had our flashlights and lanterns. Jim had just come home with some groceries so I helped him take them up to his apartment. He had a rough time navigating the stairs. He has cancer. Then Wilma comes trundling down the hall (she's about 96) with her walker, wearing her straw hat singing "If you're happy and you know it clap your hands, if your happy and you know it clap your hands, if your happy and you know and you really want to show it, clap your hands, clap your hands, clap your hands" She was laughing and having a great time. Then she proceeded to ask us riddles. Sometimes she has a bag of prizes, just stuff she has around her apartment. I won the first question and then she said, "I don't have any prizes". She is so funny. One time I won a used deodorant stick and another time it was a very dirty Q-stick holder.
