I am doing really well this week despite a lot of business travel and meals out for business. I am super pleased, but nervous suddenly I'll "fall off." So I've been blogging a LOT to stay focused on my successes. Hopefully reinforcing that with myself will keep me going as I have been.

Today was a challenge in the afternoon. I wanted ice cream in the worst way. (There are freezers of free ice cream at my office.) I chewed sugar free peppermint gum to offset that craving. FINALLY the end of the day came and I left the office. PHEW I MADE IT!!

Delighted to have found this forum. For me it is exactly that..1 pound at a time. It's hard to be happy with that when so many seem to lose so quickly. I've yet to lose my first pound but I am trying.

Yay!! The Wisconsin snow is finally melting. Wish I could get my fat to melt that easily..

Last night I cheated on my low-carbing and ate a brownie. My 14-yr old son baked them himself from scratch and offered me one. What else could I do?? On the upside, I only ate one. There was a time when I would have cleaned out half the pan!

I am not sure what happen this week I think my gain is water as yesterday I was at 222.0 and I really watched my food but I do know my sodium was a little higher. oh well here's to a new week!

So glad I have found this thread again! I used Spark a few years ago and was well on my way to reaching my goals when life really took a turn. My husband was suddenly and severely disabled. For two years I had no time or energy to do anything but care for him. Last year he went to be with Jesus. Now I am facing life as a single mom and I know I need to be strong and healthy for my family.

So Iím starting fresh. I reset my ticker, dusted off the old Walk Away the Pounds dvdís and bought a fitbit. It is harder this time without my best friend here to encourage me, but I can do this One-Pound-At-a-Time..

06/feb 162.5 kg starting weightloss challenge today.
aim to lose 8.1 kg
target weight 154.4 kg

Week 1 13/2 -160.5 loss 2 kg.....ps yesterday I was 163.5kg!
Week 2 20/2 163.5kg overall gain of 1kg since start
Week 3 27/2 158.5 kg loss of 5 kg this week but only 4 kg since start weight.
Week 4 05/03 158.8 up 300g since last week, had an unsettling 1.9 kg spike yeasterday
Week 5 12/03 158.3 down 500g from last week 4.2kg since start.

Roslyn....I have an Omeron Go smart pocket pedometer that I use to count steps. It does some other things also. It has a 7 day memory. I really like it because unlike some pedometers I can just put it in my pocket. It doesn't have to be fastened at the waist. As far as I can tell it is quite accurate. It cost me around $30 at Walgreen's. I've had it for a couple of years now and it's still working good. No problems with it other than battery change which is easy to do.

Looks like we are going to have a very nice day so I am line drying my laundry and will be walking around the property checking on spring growth.

been on a 1200 calorie a day diet
just had 1 day of "regular" food consumption and my weight rocketed up 1.9 kg, 1 day before weighin is due.

Wow came on and was reading my last post when I noticed I had lost 220 pounds lol I left off a number when I was saving my weight lol So I went back in and corrected it. Wow what a difference one little number can make! lol lol That would be one "crash" diet lol emoticon

Hi everyone. Sorry I have been MIA. Family business with the granddaughter and funerals. I have one each week in March. One down and three more to go. Other than that, all is well.

I am looking to invest in some type of device for keeping track of my daily activity. The weather is going to get better and I am looking forward to walking. Is there one that does not require an Iphone, Ipad or anything like that because I do not have that type of phone. Does anyone have the Spark tracker? If so, do you like it.

I will make the effort to come to SP more often. Everyone be blessed and keep sparking. One moment at a time.

ANTEKAY It seems like when I have a stand still or small up's and down's is when my body is changing. I will loose and then stop and all of a sudden I can see a change in my waist or bust ,arms, legs.....Just stick with it and don't give up and soon your weight will start going down again.

Yes! One pound at a time, and when I'm lucky to lose 1.5 lbs in a week, that makes me smile!! I just love seeing all your little tickers with how much weight is lost. Making strides!
I have about 50 pounds to go, and I find I get a little impatient, anxious for the end of the losing mode, can't wait for maintenance. But hate wishing my time away.

I am targeting my weight loss in 5 pound goal increments. (more frequent success) I have lost 9 # since the beginning of Jan which feels great! I know I won't continue to lose at that rate necessarily, but it is happening! I am making it happen. Yesterday I had a BIG chocolate eat out. A 3 Musketeers & Pnut MMs! The first time in almost 2 months and no cravings today!

Each moment can be a new beginning!

Richard.. great job you are back on track and the weight is going down. Keep up the good work and before you know it another pound will disappear before your eyes.
JLTOLLEY711... Don't get down you just keep working on taking a step at a time and those pounds will leave. I understand stress eating and I that is the step I am working on right now. The other day I was so stressed that I knew if I went home I would start eating so my daughter and I went to Costco and walked the whole store. It really did help Find something you can do to releave your stress instead of eating.
We can do this despite the stress!

I thought I was OK yesterday but did the nutrition report and I was over. Today is a new day and a new opportunity and still have 3 days to weigh in time.

I am really working on changing my habit of eating when I am upset or stressed! There has been a lot of stress at work and when I walk in the house I start looking for food just a bite or two,or three,or...... So today when stress popped up I talked my way through it then when I got home I decided to go to Costco and get a few things so I walked the whole store! I did decide to try a frozen yogurt took about 5 bites and tol my daughter I was full! So got a lid and it is in my freezer and I don't even want it! So I got in extra walking and did not mess up my day at all! Another small victory now if I can just keep it up.

I am getting back on track! I lost my one pound for this week! Now onward to the next victory of a pound at a time! I hope that each of you will see victory on this pathway to better health. Remember the victory may be seen in how our clothes fit, how that double chin is not so double, that you notice you can walk farther now then you could when you started,maybe you notice you are not eating as many sweets as you were before or that you are drinking more water and less sweet drinks......what ever it is they all go together in making you a healthier person.
Here's to a new week and remember today is the first day of the rest of our lives...let's make it a good day!
