Gone for a month with a 5 lb weight gain. Put a screeeeching halt to it 4 days ago. Its too hard to loose. Hope for no more back peddaling.

Well, I must respond to my last response. I did fall off. It was amazingly easy. Company came and we ate out and I could not resist bread and butter. I am back on, this is day 2 and the head game is just as difficult. I am grateful for these boards where I vent my feelings. Thanks team mates.

Gaining and losing has been my entire life. I do not remember a time when I did not feel or had not been told that I need to lose weight. This is my second time on Spark with other programs in between. But, at 68 I am a diabetic, and now the healthy life changes are for me and my health. I need to keep my blood glucose number in control for many, many reason. I know I will not fall off, as this is a new normal.

Oh me too! I started sparking in 2010 and have only now come back! I was down to 180lbs and am now....well 248 when I restarted. But I can do this! emoticon

Unfortunately I have a similar story! I have gained back 30 of the 80 pounds I lost, but I am working on taking those 30 pounds off again before I put it all back!

the thing that I have learned is that tracking food is the most important thing in losing weight. I also go to WW. Weight loss is 80% what you eat and 20% exercise. It takes a decrease of 500 calories per day for a total of 3500 calories per week to lose about 1 pound per week. Write everything down that you eat.

Agree w/talking to your health care provider about it. BUT also a few things to consider. Are you doing any strength training? Muscle is what burns fat . . . it is the furnace of our bodies.

Maybe you need to take a look @ your nutrition as well.

Just some ideas, and wishing you luck.

Have you told your doctor what is happening? What medication were you on? How long did you take it and how long have you been off it? How many calories are you eating now compared to when you lost the weight?

When I was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes in April 2014, I got serious and over tome lost 100 lbs., from 273 to to 169. Then once I came off diabetes medicine, and started eating a little more "normally," the weight started coming back. I eat low carb still, and miss bread a LOT, but chose not to eat it except VERY rarely, but I've added fruit back into my diet, and an occasional dessert. Not daily, or even weekly, just occasional. And I have crept back up to 199.

I still walk every day, most weekdays twice a day, for at least 30 minutes each time. Any suggestions, team, to help me get back on track? I cannot go back to being fat. Not that I ever got to skinny, but I liked my body a lot more around the 170 mark.
