The most fun types are hiking, and ping pong. Though I do go on run/walks when needed as well. I need to start incorporating strength training as well, but have not as of yet

I go for an hour of cardio/day - any combination of walking, hiking, bike (stationary recumbent or beach cruiser), swimming. Also try for 3 strength sessions each week.

I burn by walking and or running an average of 45 miles a week and strength training

The elliptical at the gym burns more calories than walking. It's a good way to burn if you don't have the time for hiking/walking.

I burn by walking, hiking, the gym (elliptical & strength training), and my beloved aerials classes.

How do you get you burn in? What is your daily goal?


I shoot for 2-3k calories a day some days I fall short but that is whats in my head most of the time. It get difficult though because I am 450lbs and don't feel confident enough to do other exercises, so all my calories burning comes in the form of walking or hiking. The hikes tend to be a lot of fun and burn around 2k calories themselves for an hour or two. That is nice also we tend to hit the daily "step goal" every day of 10k steps pretty easily. The problem though is if I have to walk lol I have to walk for 3 or 4 hours to hit that calorie goal, and by that time I'm 6 miles in to the walk. It works because I have the time. I am thinking about getting an aerobics video though to burn some calories a little quicker if I don't feel like spending the 4 hours out on the road lol.
