I had rejoined the gym at the hospital 2 weeks before the shut-down in Ohio. At that time, they were still allowing cardio-rehab patients only to come in for their rehab. It was closed to non-patients, even if we paid. I still have 2 weeks left. With the spike in cases, I'll be surprised if they don't reopen it to non-patients yet. I haven't checked. I've just been walking and riding my recumbent bike. Unfortunately, I haven't felt well for at least a week. I don't think it's Covid-19 either. It seems to be my allergies and my IBS both acting up at the same time. The pollen count has been very high here. Walking outside seems to aggravate the allergies.

I need to finish my cardio rehab class—only need 1 day to do that, and even though Wellness Center is now open again, I don’t think they are allowing cardio rehab to start back up yet. Getting together with friends that are also staying home is really helping me. We don’t get together much, maybe once/twice a week, but that does help.

Been busy researching my family tree. I try to read some, too. However, that seems to tempt me to eat! Someone else said she's having trouble with that (not here on SP), so I know I'm not the only one. She's always been thin, ever since I've known her, and she's starting to gain weight. I guess it's somewhat part of the times. However, the gyms are going to open back up soon. Since I was going to the gym at the hospital before things shut down, and they owe me two weeks, I will probably go back there. I can only go two days (when they don't have rehab classes). Even before this pandemic happened, they were meticulous about cleaning. I'm sure when they allow non-rehab clients back in, there will be some changes. Still, it will be good to go back. This is not fun! emoticon

We did not walk this weekend but will be at. It early tomorrow if the weather is good. Today I had to make masks for David’s friend at work and deliver them to the assisted living home. I did not go in but David and Brittany came out and I got to visit with them a few minutes. Donna came by and got my grocery list (mainly fresh fruit and salads) and delivered them back to me.

Good for you, LKWQUILTER! I walked 46 minutes on Friday and 38 yesterday. I enjoyed it, too. Today, it will be the recumbent bike since it's rainy and damp today. When I ride the bike, I listen to Gospel music on YouTube with my headphones in my cell phone. Sometimes, I think I'll just ride 15-20 minutes. Then, when I look at the time on the bike, I find I've ridden over 20 minutes. Listening to the music, especially peppy Gospel music, the time goes by so quickly!

As for coping with the stay-at-home order, I guess I've taken it too literally. Unfortunately, a friend of mine lost her mother to Covid-19 today. That reinforces the need to be careful, even as we phase back into society.

Most days I have been walking with a friend who is 87. I go by her home and we walk at her speed and however far she wants to walk then I finish walking as long and far and I want to. I am determined to get her outside some so that she is not totally isolated. It helps both of us and we take up the whole road. LOL. She is on one side and I am in the middle.

LKWQUILTER, I've been working on my family tree. I've been so busy, I haven't been on SP much lately, except for my phone app (tracking food and exercise). I need to spend more time here.

Glad to hear you're not having breathing issues now. I went to the local Dollar General; I sanitized like crazy, along with wearing a mask and gloves. I then went to the local gas station/convenience store and bought a bottle of syrup I use for drinks (Vitamin B complex). That will keep me from going in quite so much, and it will save some $.

Thank you for making the masks!

I'm coping with trying to buy groceries via pickup instead of going in the stores quite so much. The three Kroger's that have it (within driving distance) don't have any pickup days/times until Monday! emoticon emoticon Walmart doesn't have anything until maybe Saturday but said to check back because new times open up. It's hard to find things right now,but at least they note if something is out of stock. Kroger's doesn't tell you that, but you can indicate allowable substitutions. However, if they don't have something pretty close, you just don't get that item. Then, you have to find it somewhere else. There are pluses and minuses to both places. We're hoping to use Sam's Club that way and maybe get non-perishables shipped to the house. We've done that before all this virus happened. I'm definitely trying to cope by being flexible with what we plan to eat.

Today has been another stay at home day. I am learning how to make masks, one for me and some for my granddaughter who works at a senior home. It has been fun trying to figure out how to do them. So far I finished 2 and now trying to do some more with a little more tweaking. I did walk outside down to the end of the street. I haven’t done anything like that since before I got my stents. Since I changed blood thinners I am not getting out of breath like I was.

I went to the cardiologist's office today for my 1-year heart ultrasound. I went for a walk this evening, and that was good. I walked a little over 2 miles, and was barely winded. The 5K I was supposed to walk/jog late next month has been postponed until late August. So, I'm still conditioning for that. Our church has pretty much suspended our services at least until Easter. emoticon

I am staying home too. I did eat lunch with Shirly and Frank (good friend‘s) as church was canceled yesterday and since I had bought everything for veggie pizza, I made it and shared with them. It wasn’t something I could freeze and there was no way I could eat it all. LOL

Saturday and today I have not left my home, just talked with friends by phone.

Pretty much the same thing here, except I'm not much of a gardener. I did change my garden flag and door decoration from St. Patrick's Day theme to patriotic per our governor's wife's suggestion. emoticon to emoticon

I am staying more at home, not visiting anyone, just calling friends on the phone. Still going to the shops for daily necessities but have enough meat in the freezer and staples for a couple of weeks or so. All our restaurants, cafes, pubs, casinos, cinemas, gyms etc have been closed since noon Monday for probably the next 6 months. We can still order food from restaurants. This morning have spent 2 hours in my front garden deadheading my roses emoticon
Tomorrow it's back garden's turn.

I am talking on the phone and just limiting my outings to visit friends that are staying close to home too. I do get outside with Rascal and Molly on the weekend and just Rascal during the week.

The new shopping strategy worked pretty well. We didn't get everything we wanted, but that wasn't their fault. The shortages in the store (hoarders) were the problem. I will definitely shop that way again. In a way, I like the challenge of using my creativity and ingenuity. I watched my mother use hers during the Blizzard of '78.

I'm a substitute teacher and laid off. This is the first week off, and I'm going stir-crazy! I tried something new, and we'll find out how it works tomorrow. One of my friends who uses it won't shop any other way now.

I decided not to watch the news quite as much. It was just getting to me. Still, I'm not going out much (except to get my groceries and do a carry-out from a restaurant).

I'm losing my mind! Kids home from school, gym's closed. Trying to help the kids with their schoolwork that was sent home. Doing grocery shopping as usual... what we can get anyway, the stores are all wiped out. I'm not super stocked up but there's only so much room in the house. Basically, minus the kids being home it's life as usual. Hubby still has work as he works on government contracts building military ammunition. There's only 2 cases of COIVD-19 in our county so far. I'm sure it's coming though.

Hello everyone! Please share what you're doing to cope with the changes in our lives due to the pandemic. How has it affected you and your family? Are you self quarantined/sheltered in place, or perhaps still working?

I'm off work at least 2 more weeks. I am doing a myriad of things. Reading, family tree research, watching tv, playing games. Most of all, I'm focusing on my faith. I think I'm going to watch less tv in the next few days. In an effort to stay away from people, I used Kroger's Click List for the first time. I may decide I like that enough to continue shopping that way even after this ordeal is over.
