Hi! I am doing my first 50k ultra in September in Lethbridge, Alberta - The Lost Soul. My husband has done this race twice and I volunteered last year...it is such a great environment and I love running in the coulees, though I am not very good at it yet!

Hi I'm new! I'm doing my first half marathon on May 1, and am training with my mom for an 8 hour Ultra in August. Basically it's a 3.2ish mile loop that you complete as many times as you can in 8 hours, so you get to set your own distance goal.

I am hoping to so the Stone Cat 50-miler, however, I already have a marathon scheduled for the week before! Definitely doing the Pisgah 50K though! It is beautiful! What a great run :-)

If you can't run fast, run long!

Well I haven't been here for many months. Too many things going on. Very happy to see this thread is active. Maryram, I have several freinds that run across the years. Did you meet/visit with either Alene Nitzky or Dale Perry?

Well I've run the Bighorn 100 a number of times well guess I can't get over it. Signed up again.

best to all of you, happy training!

Just completed my first 100 miles also.. had to enter a 48 hour race to do it, but Across the Years was the right place to do it... a 500 meter packed dirt track that has nearly the best race support I have seen to date.
the next one: FANS 24 hour in Minneapolis Minnasota. Will attepmt to make the Centurion list (walk 100 miles or more in 24 hours or less at a judged event)

It was the Mother Road 100.3, which was from the Kansas state line to Tulsa on what they could fine of the original Route 66. It was really fun. I met one person who was originally from South Africa running it, although I can't remember her name. It was three weeks ago and those tendons in the back of my knees were really bothering me when I tried to run. I think I will try again this weekend.

Too bad there aren't many people on this team.

100 miles - well done!
Which one did you do? And how long has it taken you to recover?

Hot, sunny running sounds great just now. Recovering from my first 100 miler now, but will start running this weekend. So far for this year:

Psycho Wyco 50k in February
Flat Rock 50k in September

When I start running again I'll think up more to do.

Hey folks!
Post your intended ultra marathons for 2011.

My wake-up call:
After a long break after Comrades I've eventually started training again - got a tough first quarter coming up in 2011!

My intended ultras:
March: Om-die-Dam 50K
April: Two Oceans 56K
May: Comrades 89K

And possibly 1 more in the second half of the year.

Hot sunny summer greetings from South Africa!

Sam
