Mary-Ellen, enjoy your pedometer. Now you can count those stairs you climb as steps.

Jo, you're just technologically disconnected, we'll get you into the 21st century someday. And you know me I always have some weird thought floating through my head and sometimes I have to say it.

We got onto the Pedometer thing because Kat mentioned that she was hoping to get a new one...we digressed from there! Toilets, porto-jons, and whether a pedometer floats, thanks to kids or the lack of being securely fastened....LOL emoticon

Mine came in the mail yesterday...WooHoo! emoticon
Yes, throwing your arms in the air counts as excercise!
Got this one from drugstore.com and it's very easy to use. I used this model at work when we had our world wide office challenges, plus it has a lanyard to strap it so it won't fall! Plus, the price was right at 25. emoticon

Be sure to attach your pedometer securely - I lost one down a port-o-pottie - didn't really care to see if it could "walk on water" (Janet - you are bad) or if it was strong enough to withstand the smell - now I am just estimating my steps - still struggling with the newest one I bought - I am technically challenged - does throwing your hands up in the air count as exercise? Oh, maybe if I bend down and do a toe touch after! Have a great day!

Janet,

You crack me up! emoticon

emoticon I figured that since I have to walk everywhere, I'd be able to track it. I find that if I have that little thing attached to my belt, I find more excuses to move throughout the day! Whatever works!

I just ordered it and look forward to logging the miles again.

I had a pedometer before I left for Iraq...one of the kiddos decided to see if it would float in the toilet...eeeewwwwww. It never worked right after! emoticon

Kat - when I entered my miles it showed up a second time under cardio, but it used the sparks calories burned so I ended up deleting the second entry in cardio. I guess it's a small bug. I'd be curious if it does the same thing when tracking steps.

Thanks, Janet! I JUST saw this added button on my fitness tracker page tonight when I entered my exercises from today. I asked for a better quality pedometer for my birthday later this month, so I can't wait to add that to my fitness! :) I appreciated the link to the blog, too.

Somehow I missed this last month and figured if I did maybe others did as well. Changes to the Fitness Tracker include tracking steps and tracking miles (one that I'll be using). Here is the link to the blog that goes over it all. www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_jo
