"The great challenge of adulthood is holding on to your idealism after you lose your innocence."
– Bruce Springsteen

Good morning. Mutt made another hole in the fence, so I have already walked him since he can't go in the back yard. Duke won't leave the back yard even when if you leave the gate open.

I went to personal yesterday, by law part time is under 32 hours a week anything over 33 hours a week is full time. Wal-mart wants all part time. They have me working 33 hours a week 5 weeks and 28 hours the 6th week. They have been doing this for 2 1/2 years. Well they messed up and I have worked over 32 hours a week for over 12 weeks, so they had to make me full time. Wal-Mart has pretty good benefits for part time workers so I already have insurance, I'll get my new benefit package next week, but I don't expect any big changes. The big change in benefits seems to be adding your dependents. DH is on medicare and i don't have any children living with me. The only difference it will make to my hours is they will no longer have to keep track of my hours. I expect I'll still average 33 hours a week.

I have had both. I did not know about the cyst till I was having something else done. Anyway remember the bigger the object the bigger the hole the longer the recovery...
Same goes for Gallbadder. I waited too long and had to make bigger hole, larger scar...
Cyst was scary they thought it might be cancerous because of size, growth, etc. Wasn't worried because they run in family. FYI don't cut the recovery time short. It takes a while even if its just 3 little holes to get the cyst out. Gaul bladder much easier, I still took a week off because I could and after pushing the other surgery I was going to make sure I was ok this time around. I am overweight so that made recovery more difficult too. If your in better physical shape you may do much, much better! Your gallbladder wont let you forget its not feeling well. Neither will that cyst depending on type. Take good care of yourself emoticon

Good morning, when I was off, I was at Wa-mart getting my hair trimmed,I heard then call for Miss Mary to come to personal. I figured it was another Miss Mary since I was off. One of the managers saw me and said I just told personal you were off. So yesterday I clocked in a few min early and went to personal. They told me to come back today because management needs to talk to me. If it where bad management would have called me to the ad office so I'm not worried, but curious.

Alice Thinks Sometimes Maybe Perhaps

Good morning. Another yucky day, It looks like rain. The weather man says no rain, just nasty.

I went to the Dr. yesterday. The Dr that did my colenospeny (sp) wanted to go over some things. He had reviewed the records my general DR had sent him. He said I had a gall stone and once a gall blather starts making stones it keeps making stones, so it has to come out. My general Dr says it only needs watched unless it bothers me. He said I has a cyst on my overie and it needed to come out. Again my general Dr says It just needs to be watched. I called my DD that is a nurse. She said to talk to my general Dr and if she thinks I need to see a surgeon, go to the one she recommends. She said she thinks the one Dr likes the knife and will send me to surgeons that likes the knife. The other Dr is more realistic and will send me to Drs that are willing to look into alternatives.

Mutt has always eaten his food from one of those toys he rolls around, Duke likes his food in water. I don't know it it because he is still a puppy or because he likes water, but that is what he likes. The other day Mutt tried to try Dukes food, so last night I put his food in a bowl and put water on it. He looked at the food, looked at me, looked at his kong and whined.

If I were to choose among all gifts and qualities that which, on the whole, makes life pleasantest, I should select the love of children. No circumstance can render this world wholly a solitude to one who has this possession.

Good morning, Well yesterday i did it again. I thought I worked 6:30 till 11 and planed my day accordingly. At noon my husband looked at my schedule and told me he thought I was off. I checked and I was. I'm off again today, already checked, but I had planed on being off today.

I got my hair trimmed this morning. I planed on striping it tonight, but it might get done earlier. The chemical smell is driving me nuts.

Freyja is scratching again and the soars on her neck are back. At least now I know what the problem is. The vets says it is allergies and to just watch to make sure they don't get invected. She said right now, giving her allergy meds would cause her trauma and have more side effects then letting her scratch.

Good morning, I'm up and trying to move. All I can say is I don't have a headache. The night manager has fallen off her rocker. She is complaining about everyone. She went to upper management and complained. Upper management told day shift we had to try and make her happy so she would leave them alone. One of the day managers asked me to stay late and try to make sure she had nothing to complain about. I told her i would, but it wouldn't do any good because the night manager was only happy if she was complaining. The day manager and I stayed 30 mins over and did the first hours of night work. It is hard to get night managers. I can't stay late tonight. I can't have anything to eat or drink after after midnight. If I don't get home till midnight I won't get anything to eat but a small snack between 6P and 10A.

Addie was only 6 pounds her whole life. Heaven only knows what she was when she died. Now I guess Buddy is average. We guess he is around 10lbs give or take. Cracked my head on the Blazer at work today. Goose Egg bump and all. Hurt so bad I couldn't even cuss. That was a good thing. Managed to get in my 30 minutes Fri, Sat & Sun. Didn't feel so great on Fri.

Saturday went out and about and Sunday did a little of this and that and trimmed some bushes on the yard.

Buddy is so cool. A water hose pouring water doesn't even bother him. Of course he's never been sprayed by one on purpose. He also stayed right under us while we were cutting the bushes. Never worried we'd drop a limb in him. He did stay outside last night form 9pm - 4am.
Somewhere along the way he got the memo that Cats only move around about 4 hours a day.
I assume he spends most of his time outside holed up under a bush snoozing. He doesn't like children he spotted one yesterday a couple of yards over and started growling. That's how we know someone is walking down the street too. He growls just like a dog.

Good afternoon, Sorry I was awol again yesterday. Working 2P-11P one night and 11A-8P the next day doesn't work very good and Wal-Mart decided I should do it X2. I didn't get up in time to post before work and so beat when I got home. Oh well I don't go in till 6:30 this evening. 2 short days then 2 days off. I do have a Drs appointment for some blood work. They want to make sure the meds they gave me are working and I'm not wasting my time. This Dr gives free samples to see if they work before giving you a prescription.

emoticon I always had big cats. After the last one went over the rainbow bridge I got a kitten born under a neighbors house to a feral mom. When i took her to the vet that had taken care of my other cats, she looked at me and told me I had a little kitten. She might reach 9 pounds full grown, She never did. I have a 6 pound cat.

Good morning, I wasn't on yesterday because I worked what they call mid day, 11 to 8. I did my exercise before I went in because I knew I would be beat when I got home. I was right, After dinner I was off to bed.

My friend, Anna, isn't doing good. Her heart isn't strong enough to for cancer treatment. She had some test yesterday where they looked at her heart. Her heart is stronger then thought, but the Dr told her that he had sent a 1 year leave of absence form into Wal-Mart.

Beautiful day here. I should be able to get outside at lunch. Got in my 30 last night. Worked with some weights and stretch bands.

Buddy came back and he took a nap on me for about 30 minutes. I am glad animals live in the moment.

We survived and the vet looked okay too. It is so undignified for a cat to have a shaved butt.
Buddy was abit off all night and wanted OUTSIDE. We kept him in till this morning and when I allowed him to go he was off at a good clip. He had missed his rounds of the neighborhood for 2 days. I exercised about 30 minutes yesterday.

Daniel Webster,

Good morning, Th co-worker I drive home from work several times a week isn't doing good at all. Her cancer has been in remission for 5 years. Last Tuesday she was in so much pain she had to stop 3 times walking to the front of the store and asked me if I could bring the car around to pick her up. She hasn't been back to work since. She texted me Thursday that the Dr was looking for a way to get her cancer back into remission. Yesterday she texted my that she spent yesterday at the cancer hospital er. It is bone cancer, the cancer that I have been told by many is the most painful and the dr said it has spread more then he thought.

Good morning, It is raining and will be all day so it is indoor exercises today. I got a bonus at work and used a little of it to get some DVD's you can play while walking on a tread mill or riding a stationary bike. Good morning. Yesterday I was a cashier half the time then in customer service, where it was very busy, so I only got a couple thousand steps and no exercise at work. Well it is exercise lifting and turning at the register, but my tracker doesn't track it. t don't know what was going on. I went in at noon yesterday and it was a Friday.

Generosity is the flower of justice.
Nathaniel Hawthorne

Good morning. Yesterday I went to the a follow up appointment to see if I was having any side effects with the meds they put me on. I told the DR I felt like I had a ton of bricks just under my rib cage after breakfast. Now this is an older Dr. He asked me how long the feeling lasted. I told him till I did my ab exercises. He looked up from where he was taking notes and said WHAT. I told him again. He said it was the first time anyone had ever told him they used ab exercises to relieve ab discomfort. He told me to continue with the ab exercises, but gave some meds for when I couldn't do them.

We were laughing at work. I'm giving customer service a new meaning. It appears there is a % of older Hispanic woman that think rubbing long naturally white hair is good luck. The other day one lady asked me about my hair and once she was sure it wasn't die job or a wig asked to rub it. I thought this was strange but said yes. That started it Someone told me that they thought it was good luck, but since Americans don't they are normally afraid to ask. A couple co workers said if touching my hair was good luck, they weren't taking any chances and touch my hair every chance they get.

Did you ever try chair exercises? SP has some good ones.

My excuse for not exercising is the arch supports have cracked. It happens every time I start walking. My shoes are fairly new. It drives me nuts. I have started looking for a podiatrist and will get a pair of orthopedic made for me shoes and see if that helps. I can't function without my support on my feet. Buddy has started the spring shedding, joy. As always he has found a spot to dig at till he has scratched it bare. The fuzz wad is always in some sort of mischief. He decided that today would be a good day to stay outside and listen to the birds sing. Wish I could have stayed home and outside too.

Good afternoon, I went to get some more meds and pick up some things at the store. DH wanted a bathmat. What kind? One so I don't slip when I get out of the shower. What color? I don't care if it has Snow White on it I just want a bathmat. He likes royal blue, so I got him a nice plush royal blue bathmat. We don't worry about matching. We worry about function and what we like.

Too windy here to walk outdoors as well. I took a cat nap in the sun at lunch. I haven't slept well in two nights. Last night I know it was caffeine I drank at 7pm. I usually don't drink any after 3pm. Buddy has been loving the spring weather. I just hope he stays out of mischief till his Dr. visit. I was looking at him this morning and I swear he has a cataract. I catch glimpses of something every now and then and I don't think its the normal weird cat eye thing. Too bad cooking doesn't count as exercise I have to go home and prepare for the office potluck tonight.

“Two little words that can make the difference: START NOW.”

- Mary C. Crowley

Good morning. The temp is in the high 50's but it is very windy. I've already walked Mutt once today.

I did walk the mall with Tony and Alex, but only got 17,000 steps, so did take it easy. I have been looking for my exercises DVD's since we moved things from one room to another. I had about decided I needed to start my collection again when I discovered I could get most of them on you tube, yes it is smaller and not as crisps as a DVD, but it sure beats buying new ones.

I was watching the boys so there mother could go to the gym. She called and said when I got tiered of walking in circles, she would take me to lunch. I got to the gym and she walk walking on a treadmill. I might have been walking in circles, but I had a 4 year old pointing to everything, watching people pointing at Alex and laughing at an 18 month old, sound asleep, hands still on the steering wheel, trying to hold his head up and not doing a good job of it. She was walking in place, staring at the empty rowing machines. I'll walk in circles any day.

Yesterday I took a Hike at lunch. Started to turn back as teh trail was hurting my knees but I went on. I did the mile trail in 27 minutes. That was pushing it a little too hard it stirred up my asmtha When not having to watch where I put my feet I did see some early butterflies. There are no flowers in bloom around here so I felt sorry for them. I like walking on the pavement better, I can look around and watch the world around me. I'm not walking at lunch today. There are so few of us at work right now I want to stick close incase I am needed.

Way to go with so many steps! I know my feet would be hurting! I'm thinking about getting a bicycle. Been playing with the idea for about 2 years now. I'm going to start looking next time I get out of the sticks and get near a Target store. I've seen some there online that might work.

“Only one thing has to change for us to know happiness in our lives: where we focus our attention.”

- Greg Anderson

Good morning. I'm off today. Mutt has a vet appointment and my 16 year old grandson wants to go out to eat, so his mom says she will bring him and we can eat together. The 16 year old is so busy with teenage things I don't see him that often.

To tell you how yesterday went I got my 10,000 steps and 120 min exercise before work. I do that because sometimes I'm a cashier and don't get any steps. When I got home at midnight I had 29,500 steps and 191 min of exercise. My feet hurt. Can we say chair and floor exercises.

"Once we believe in ourselves, we can risk curiosity, wonder, spontaneous delight, or any experience that reveals the human spirit."

Good morning, I'm doing better, tummy wise. Feet wise, well I only had a 4.5 hour day yesterday. Being Sat night I expected a busy day, and I thought it was. I didn't think I got that much exercise at work. I left for work with 13,000 steps and 120 min exercise. I checked my tracker when I got home and I had 27,000 steps and 207 min exercise. For those that don't know, anytime you move for 10 min without a brake of more then a min.

Glad I got the mowing done, I woke up to rain. The dogs didn't even want to go out to do there thing.

I have 8 cats. 5 of them sleep with me. The other 3 sleep in my room but not on the bed. I have a king size bed but I get to sleep in a very small area and they don't like it when I have to turn over. BUT I wouldn't change it for anything. The best sleep come when you can hear and feel purring all around you. AND they keep you warm in the winter! emoticon

Freyja don't sleep with me, She sleeps on the floor in the doorway to my room. I told DH I felt like I'm being guarded by a little kitty cat.

My baby seems to hate going to bed. She has always gone to bed when I do, we say night-nights, I give her kisses, she lays there and waits for me to go to sleep and then she does her nocturnal, kitty thing, and in the morning she is laying there in bed waiting for me or sometimes asleep. Now, she lays in the bed during the day, will take naps with me, etc., but when nighttime comes she turns into a creep. She won’t come to bed and she won’t let me sleep in peace. We had a fight the other night, which ended up with both of us to upset to settle. Help!

I took a walk at lunch, pretty windy and 50* I wasn't going to walk but I'm glad I did. I'm signed up for a Blue & You Fitness challenge through work so I have incentive to start each spring with some type of exercise. The challenge lasts till the end of May. We have four people who have exercise as a lifestyle. I am not one of them, I hate to sweat.

We fear disturbance, change, fear to bring to light and talk about what is painful. Suffering often feels like failure, but it is actually the door into growth.

Good morning. I have walked Mutt but other then that don't have much energy and have an 8 hour day this afternoon. I have a Dr.s appointment next week. I'll talk to him. I really think it is the meds he put me on. He said I have acid reflux even if I have no symptoms. Well since he put me on these meds, I can't even drink water without my tummy sounding like a volcano. I have to sip or nibble everything and sometimes that isn't possible. I wonder if I'm getting what I need.

Freyja likes to drink from my cup to water. I found she likes fish water better. I put some plants to root in a glass vase and added a fish to keep the water clean. She loves it.

Buddy knocked over a glass of water at some point last night.. He has a habit of sticking his head in my nite time water glass. Why? He has two bowls of water of his own and one is left under a dripping faucet so I know its clean and fresh. I did not know he did this till about a week ago. So I guess I've been drinking after him for a while. Yuck!

Good morning. I have the first load of cloths on the washer. I have 2 or 3 loss to do. I was going to spread them out since 2 loads at most fit on the line, but the weather didn't work with me. The sun is shining so I'm seeing how many I can get done. My first load is mostly work cloths and things that hang inside

So tired of winter. Either it is below 0 or it is snowing way too much. Yesterday almost didn't make it up the hill on a main street to go to work. So many cars on that hill got stuck and there were police out there trying to push them up the hill. Now today the roads are GREAT!. Easy ride to work. They say spring is on the 20th? We will probably have snow here until the middle of June! LOL. April 12 our campground opens up and we want to be able to go up there and open our camper and get ready to enjoy the spring and summer. I don't know though, we will probably be tromping through snow. It could be worse though.

Everyone have a wonderful day.

We've had more cold weather this week, but I think it's warming up. I would love to get myself motivated and get some new window screens before we get to that really short spring we have around here (the period between heat and A/C). I love to open windows and get fresh air in the house, but with 'holey' screens, the bugs and other critters can get in. My two cats love it when I open up the house, because they are strictly indoor and love to 'smell the smells' and be able to hear the birds and squirrels.

'Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming -- WOW -- what a ride!

“Our dilemma is that we hate change and love it at the same time; what we really want is for things to remain the same but get better.”

Good morning, it is still cold, but not raining or windy, so the dogs and I are off to walk. Somehow Wal-Mart goofed, I'm off to days in a row. So today is to rest my feet and tomorrow is to et things done. I know walking the dogs doesn't sound like staying off my feet, but when you are use to standing on concrete 8 hours a day 2 one hour walks is staying off my feet.

My picture is an old one but I thought you would like to see two of the fur babies I talk about. I can't take a picture of the three. Freyja won't be in the same room with Duke. so I have a picture of Mutt and Freyja taking a nap together and a picture of Mutt and Duke taking a nap together.

Before the ice came I worked in the back yard cutting the shoots off of a sickly maple tree. Proof that it is dying, not the only proof either. I then planted a Joseph's Coat climbing rose and a Pear tree (eating not ornamental) My hubby had to help dig that hole. I put fertilizer out around the Pecan tree. That night the storm and bad weather rolled in. I think the pear tree will be okay it came from a nursery in Oklahoma. The rose bush, well I covered it with a bucket and just hope it survives. I am not a rose person but I keep trying. Last year I planted a Yellow rose. It is still alive but that is all I give it.

Tuesday I went back out and work another hours pruning, hacking and sawing at a cherry stump. I thought I would be able to let one sucker grow and make a new tree but it is too weak. I cut all the suckers and growth off it. When the original tree was cut after a storm they left about a 4 foot stump. Why? Got my exercise at any rate. Next time I'm off to the front yard after the Crepe Myrtles that need trim.

Morning, I can't say good morning because last night it rained till the back yard became a pond and now we have freezing rain. Hope my Sparker friends north of Houston can stay inside out of this mess.

Good morning, yesterday I went for a walk in a tee shirt with my hair in a ponytail to get it off my neck. To day I'm wearing to shirts in the house, my hair hanging loose over my ears, to chicken to brae the wind to walk the dogs. Exercise bike here I come.

I am a mortal enemy to anything but a cheerful countenance and a merry heart, which, Solomon tells us, does good like a medicine

Good morning, I tried to stay off my feet yesterday, really I did, but work got in the way, I ended the day with 21,000 steps and got home so late I started today with 1100.

Actually I did sit-down at work yesterday something that hasn't happen in the 2 years I've been there. Loss Prevention called and they couldn't find enough managers. Some woman tried to walk out with $500 worth of stuff without going though the check out line all little stuff, 2 full baskets. They needed two people to sit with her till the police got there. Most of the time it is members of management, but they could only find 2 members of management and they were needed to run a receipt for the police, so I spent 10 min watching a woman try not to cry. I'm use to LP bring in electronics or food, but $500 of makeup, personal hygiene and the like. I think the biggest thing in her cart was floor mats for her car.

If we don't change, we don't grow. If we don't grow, we are not really living. Growth demands a temporary surrender of security."

Good morning, My tracker says my average step count is 17,000 for the week and that includes today when I haven't even gotten out of pj's. My feet say walking is out.

The guy that was fixing the fix in my kitchen will be back to finish in about an hour. It already looks better and more important I'm not afraid to walk on the floor between the kitchen and laundry room. To make matters even better when my husband asked for the price, the guy said you are on a fixed income and we need to take care of our elderly. It will be 200. I think I have every thing I need at the house but the tiles and that will be about another 60 to 80. We had been hoping to keep it under 1000.
