More power to you for making the right choices. It's better to rest now and completely heal than to push yourself and do some permanent damage. Best of luck. Keep us posted on your prgress.

Hey Molly you are really learning good stuff. It's not a fun way to learn it, but you are learning just the same.

I am happy to hear you are feeling better.

Molly,

You have done an amazing job and I, too, am really going to concentrate on running for the love of running. Sometimes my competitive nature gets the best of me, but after this full-marathon training, I think it will be time to pull back just a tad. As my running coach once asked, "Do you want to be a life-long runner or a once in a life-time runner?"

Decision made...I don't have to race every week, every month or every season to be a runner.

I wish you well, my friend!

Nancy

Hey Molly, I saw your blog post. I am so sorry you are injured, but you are definitely doing the right thing. My dad has been running 6 days a week without fail for 40 years. He refuses to take time off for illness or injury and now running is a miserable habit for him that he can't give up. Better to take time off when you need it and be able to run happy and healthy for years to come!

If you've read my blogs, you see I have an injury. Well, I stopped running last week because it just wasn't getting any better. Made a doctor's appt for my "second opinion" which is today. Thing is, since I stopped running my leg has gotten exponentially better. It really validates my decision to defer my fall marathon until next year. Maybe I just needed a break. Although, I have found that I really miss running, and my running friends. I guess that's good, because I was to the point that running wasn't any fun any more, just really painful. I am actually happy to have realized that - I actually do enjoy running (I was worried that I was getting tired of it)!
