You ran a marathon. How many people can say that. Good going.
I was walking a half last year and the lead marathoner came running by us. He was one of the Kenyans and he was near the end of a marathon and way ahead of the others. He looked like he was out for a Sunday jog. I was in awe of him.

Congrats on finishing. My question is, what did you learn from this experience that you could bring to your next marathon (I know you'll run one - it's addictive) that will help you go faster next time around?

What WAS your time, btw?

No matter what your time was, the fact that you crossed the finish line is a huge accomplishment. It is something very few people will ever have the dedication to do, so you should be very proud of yourself!

And yes, you will probably decide to do another one...

Great Job! Don't worry about your time if it was your first one. It's a PR. Give it a couple days, and you may find yourself thinking about doing another one...

I'm getting psyched by your example. I just might even run a marathon myself.

Fire--I was laughing at how fast the winners of these marathons run! I ran a half marathon that if you chose to run the full marathon, you ran the half twice. So as I am running, and really proud of my pace, I hear the sirens of the police behind me. "pull over, lead marathoner running by". I was getting lapped by a full marathoner!!! So funny. I don't know how anyone can run that fast. Amazing.

My next Challenge is running a half on the Great Wall of China!

You finished and that is an accomplishment. You can always work on your time. I hope to run a full Marathon soon. I couldn't get over that the winner ran it in 2:09:14 when I was so excited I ran my half Marathon in 2:08:44. 30 seconds difference yet he ran twice the distance. That's fast!!!!! Congrats on your finish.

So I ran the NYC Marathon again yesterday. I was very disappointed with my time, but was able to cross the finish line running! It was a great experience. Not sure if I will do another marathon, but I loved running it!
