You are not cheating. You are following a plan. Life happens, plan gets thwarted. No big deal.

Plans are just that. It is a framework to move you forward, but it is not etched in stone. No one is keeping score (except maybe you - and we are always harder on ourselves than others, so this is an easy trap to fall into).

Adjust the plan, or pick it back up where you left off. As the previous said, listening to your body trumps following any plan. You are just fine.

Injuries tend to happen when our bodies are stressed, like work stress, not enough sleep or 90 degree heat. Your body may just be looking for a break. I wouldn't worry about it right now. Just don't let it become a daily thing. emoticon

Cheating is not what I would call it. I would call it making sure you got your time in no matter what.

Are you concerned about missing 8 minutes? Really? In the big scheme of things?

If you ran 10 minutes this morning anyway then wouldn't that make up for it?

If you cop out each time, just ask yourself, who would you be cheating? Those you write your accountability to or yourself, your health and your program? If you're too tired to do it, maybe you are pushing yourself too hard in the first place. If you feel you "cop out" because you don't really want to do it in the first place, maybe a different exercise that you enjoy more would be better for you.

If I'm tired, sometimes I don't work out at all. I listen to my body. I don't call it cheating, I call it respecting what my body needs.

OK, I don't think I cheated, but maybe kinda I do. This morning half way through my training run, my phone died for no reason. My training app is on my phone. So, when I got it started again, I tried to restart the app, but it wanted me to start from the beginning...no way that was happening, I was already tired from running and only getting 6 hours sleep.

So, anyway, tonight when I got done with work, I did my training. I accidentally found out today that I can end the training early by skipping intervals, etc. I went for about 20 minutes, and then ended my run (it was supposed to be 28).

So, I am trying to convince myself that I didn't cheat...I did run about 10 minutes this morning, I only got 6 hours sleep, I worked all day, and it was 90 degrees when I went for my night run. So, am I just making excuses...or is it OK. I guess I am concerned that now that I know that is an option on the app, I will cop out every time.
