I just came inside from doing my "garden walk." Can't grow vegetables, except in containers on my mid-level deck, because the critters get them. Grow lots of herbs, and because we live semi-rural, mostly natives and perennial flowers. Right now we have redbud and dogwood trees in bloom, and I LOVE this time of year. We also have a native orchid growing in our woods, a wonderful discovery. People used to "wildcraft" here before it was built up, for ginseng and other wild herbs. Last year we found a morel mushroom growing practically right outside our front door. This year I know what to look for and will try to find some more.

I've had so much fun planning and planting here; the people who owned this before us already had a really good back ground planted.

A gal at our local farmer's market purchased one heirloom tomato at the grocery store, sliced it, removed the seeds to a paper plate, let them dry, put them in the freezer, planted them. Sells them (all coming from that one heirloom tomato) at Farmer's Market.

I don't look after my tomatoes, just water them and sometimes stake and tie them up. They look better but not sure weather they fruit better. Birds and snails can be a problem. I have bought yellow tomatoes they are usually more expensive sold in punnets so very happy to have these.

Been hot and winy so a lot my pot plants have died. I bought some big pots and am moving plants into these. Its good to consolidate. Less pots look better. I was given a pot for Christmas with a succulent and moved my chain of hearts to put there, both seem happy. Some self sown small yellow tomato are doing well and taste great.

This year I had to do container gardening. Not as good as in the ground but it's still be productive.

Next year I will grow Sweet 100's Tomatoes and more cucumbers!

When I bought a place it came with a great garden that I didn't keep up but there was lots of basil and tomatoes growing I just loved the smell. I did plant mint which found its way into the lawn and smelt great when mowed.
