John is out trying to clear the lane. I did clear off the car, but not very well. Still I hope that the lane clearing gets done without further trouble (he's already lost a sheer pin).

Anna, your pancake sounds so good. Unfortunately, John can't handle chickpeas in any shape or form. I agree with you about not being able to eat real food. Yet today so many people have bariatric surgery and give up food for life. Sounds like a good movie though.

Cindy sounds like you had a really great evening. You deserve a fun night out. I'm sure that you'll be right back on track today.

April, hope everything's going well on your end.

Time for me to get something constructive done. Hope everyone has a great day!

I went to see the film JUDY and loved it. It was a sad life.
The pill popping to stay thin was what the movie 'Valley of the Dolls' was about.
I can't imagine not being able to eat real food...

Saw a rainbow and that always makes me feel happy.

emoticon hi all! We braved the weather last night and went to the casino to see Jeff Foxworthy. We also had dinner and stayed to play. Was out really late, which messed me up. I had fries with my steak but my Keto stick was still purple so that's good. Didn't lose any weight, but didn't gain either. I must get back to my meal prepping and logging my food if I expect to do any better.

Shirley, that meal sounds so delicious.
I made a pancake with 40 grams of besan (chick pea flour) and soda water.
Put my favourite spices and that counts as part of my protein + 60 gram steak
and vegetables. Very filling.

So much damage from the floods. From one extreme to the other.

Yesterday I did a huge haul at the largest Asian grocery store in the city! We're having fresh lotus root with carrots and a bok choy/bean sprout dish for dinner. I took out a pork chop for John so I'll cook that up with ginger and fresh garlic shoots.

Cindy, thanks for Swifter info.

Anna, so glad to hear about the rain.I hope that everywhere gets a good dousing without flooding, although I guess that's a lot to ask.

Phyllis, our snow has already started. I hope that it's over by tomorrow morning.

Time for me to get some dusting done. Hope that everyone has a great day!

emoticon hi everyone! It depends on what Swiffer you have how to make reusable cloths. The basic one is easy, just use the disposable one as a pattern and cut up old towels, old fleeces, probably anything with texture to grab the dust and hair. I use towels for wet. The wet jet has Velcro, and you would have to find a way to secure it. The basic one is light and easier to maneuver so I threw out my wet jet and use the basic one.

Shirley, absolutely just do your best! My thing is more the money than the environment. I guess I should be concerned about that too!

Anna glad you got some rain!

April that's too funny!

Little wind I don't know how to knit either. I learned as a kid but remember nothing!

Despite the snow I want to head off to the gym soon to go for a swim. Should be interesting. John and Sam have talked me into going to the movie they saw last night tonight while they see the second movie. I foresee popcorn

I liked the Swiffer info as well. My sister has just given me a steam mop
and I hope it is easy to use. You just put water in it, but I will put some
floor cleaner and do what you do Cindy, just use a spray bottle to spray
the floor.

I have a friend of mine coming from Vancouver in mid February. I can't
wait. She has a sister who is in a play and she is coming to surprise her.

Shirley, it's a good idea to have a few days rest before your guests arrive.
Do you have much snow now? Vancouver sure does at the moment.

Some of the outback got rain and although it won't be enough to break
the drought, it is certainly very welcome. Some storms have hit the southern
states where the fires are still burning, so that is great. Let's hope it all ends
soon.

Thanks for the info, Cindy. I found a big container of Swiffer pads but can't find the Swiffer right now. My MIL had more cleaning equipment than Walmart so there is tons of it here from her house. Things I don't even know what they are. I usually just use a sponge mop. LOL.

Linda, I don't know how to knit. I will probably use the Swiffer until I use up the pads she had and then make a pad somehow.

Shirley, party week sounds interesting. LOL. I would die. I am so beyond partying, even on a limited scale, at this point.

Dinner was a simple pork roast, but the evening went well and we all enjoyed ourselves. John had to go into the city to pick up Sam after she finished her shift, but since our guests came early it was fine. Sam is still asleep, but we HAVE to finish the plans for her Orlando birthday this visit. She is bringing 5 friends, so 6 young people in all. John and I will have to catch up on our sleep before the young people arrive. Hubby and I will go to Florida a few days before the young ones arrive, so hopefully we'll be well rested in time for party week!!! emoticon

Cindy, if I felt better I would use my steamer which has washable clothes. I will have to do some research to find something more eco friendly, but right now I'm just concentrating on being able to walk and actually do the floors! lol Glad that the cauliflower worked so well. I need to get some more pork rinds.

Time for me to get dressed and do something productive. It looks like I'm not going to the gym today. I will have to go tomorrow! Maybe I can get hubby and daughter to go to the movies tonight and leave tomorrow free. Hope that everyone has a great day!

I have never made one, but I have seen a pattern to knit a cloth for the swiffer. It is used dry for dry sweeping the floor. and can be used over and over again, even washed as needed.

Thanks April. There are different Swiffers. One is a wet mop that is just meant for that and has a sprayer attached for a cleaning solution that is only theirs. It's not a reusable bottle. The pads are similar to a disposable diaper or maxi pad. They're expensive!

The other one is basic, it just takes a dust cloth, or a wet pad that is pre-moistened. No spray. Again, refills are expensive.

A third option is O Cedar and others make a device with a spray bottle attached, refillable, and a pad that's meant to be reused and washed. I have one, and the trigger on the sprayer does break, but I just spray the floor with a spray bottle. The advantage is you can use whatever cleaner you choose and don't have to spend anything more.

You entertain a lot, Shirley, which is nice. I used to but no one else every did and I got burned out on it.

I agree about the environment. We are going to be in deep dookie soon.

I may have to try the Swifter. So you use it wet?

Thanks for the info, Cindy on the Swifter. We have tons of old towels.

Good job on sticking with Atkins!

I had a Swiffer and got tired of paying for the refills. So I looked on Pinterest and you can cut up old fleece for the dry cloths and old towels and washcloths can be used for wet. I just use a spray bottle to spray the floor. Or there's also ones that are made to be reusable, which I also have one of. The spray broke, but again, I just use a spray bottle to spray cleaner on the floor.

Thanks for the compliments on the couch! I am loving it! The fabric is perfect for pet hair! It's nice and slippery so the hair slides off. I was going to get a cover for it, but now I might not. I did buy the warranty and the only thing it won't pay for is cat scratching. I'm not sure yet what I want to do.

I tried the breading mixture I talked about with pork rinds, parmesan cheese and almond flour. It came out really well! I made fried cauliflower with it when I had French fry craving. Doing well on Atkins... haven't cheated and am not very hungry at all.

A grey day. We've invited guests over for an early dinner. They're coming at 3, hopefully to walk around the property a bit, but the weather is gloomy so that's less likely.

Cindy, I love your new couch! Looks so comfy and such a lovely warm colour. Obviously, you are enjoying it!

Anna, I know you need a lot more rain, but surely every little bit helps? It must be terribly difficult to breathe with all the smoke in the atmosphere, and you're not one to stay home. Hope that the injections help. There are going to be so many water problems among the many others. I truly don't know if the earth will recover unless there are some serious lifestyle changes made.

April, our house is always such a mess of wet, mud, and sticks that I like to get it clean with the Swifter, rather than just smear it around.

I'd better get to work if I expect to feed these people. A gal we like that we lost touch with for years. I hurt my wrist in Costco yesterday, so things are certainly more difficult today. Hope that everyone has a good day!

Anna, bending over lately has been bothering me too. Vacuuming today was gruesome. It poured here and was a mess. I hope you get well soon.

Shirley, I have a Swiffer from my MIL but have never used it. I am interested in it though.

Cindy, I love that couch - I think we are related. The dogs seem to love the couch too.

Sky has cleared and looks like no rain. One of the towns near us has
run out of water. 5000 residents, and it costs the State Government
$825,00 a month to truck water in. some towns have contaminated water
problems due to the ash in the run off in creeks and dams. More problems
unfortunately, this is going to be a big problem which will take ages to come
back to normal.

It rained a little during the night, so a little cooler and less humidity today
so it was a lot easier to breathe.

It looks more like an Autumn day outside and I think we will get more rain. emoticon

Cindy, I love the colour. You will have lots of rest on there I can tell.

The humidity was 90% today and around 6pm I heard the rain.
It cooled off for a little, then it stopped. We need a lot more than what we got.

Went to get more blood tests today and the doctor gave me an injection
for the wheezing. Have to go back for my results and my care plan.
The pensioners 5 free specialists we can go to. I usually do the podiatrist
and a pilates physiotherapist. It helps but the gap some specialists charge
from the Medicare rebate they add is getting bigger. ie.Podiatrist used to bulk
bill meaning she would get her money direct from Medicare. Now she charges $70
and Medicare fees are 53.75, so we pay the difference.

Had more blood tests today as I am still wheezing and I had an injection as well.
As long as there are fires and ash and haze in the atmosphere, I will have to be
extra careful when I go out and with air conditioning. Sick of bein sick.

I hope you are all keeping well.

Heading off soon to the gym. There's an aqua fit class at 10:30 I want to take and I live so far I'd better head off soon.

April, thanks for the G.F. seasoning suggestions. I'll have to see if I can get them in Canada.

Cindy, it's wonderful that your client can have hospice in her home with the people she's used to. The best of a bad situation.

At the moment I don't think I'm in shape to do much around here. I'm hoping to feel better in a few days.

Anna, hope that you can use your sister's things. I have a steam mop, but mostly use Swifters now.

I'd better head off if I want to make my class.

April you really are forging full speed ahead.

It must be hard to lose people you have been looking after. My landlord's
wife has just been moved to palliative care and she was such a good friend
of mine. So sad to see her like this. Get some rest Cindy.

I went to Brisbane again with my son to pick up some things from my
sister's decluttering when she moved house. A steam mop and an upright
light vacuum cleaner. I can't use the old wring mop or my barrel vacuum
cleaner as I can't bend down for too long. Hopefully they will be good,
otherwise they will go to the Salvo's.

Today was sunny and in the upper 40s. It's our last nice weather day for a while as we are going to get a lot of rain for 3 days. I got rid of some limbs in the yard today but I have been mostly decluttering inside. I am continuing my goal of finding things to donate, sell, or throw away daily. Today I put some some old food outside for the wildlife. I got rid of some expired medicine. I threw away a pair of shoes. I rounded up some almost-new socks to give away that I purchased but didn't like.

Hodgson Mill Seasoned Coating Mix and Kentucky Kernal GF Seasoned Mix are other ones I have bought here. Plus GF Bisquick, King Arthur Flour GF Baking Mix, Baker's Corner Baking Mix, and GF panko crumbs - Ian's and Kikkomens. I add my own seasoning to them.

Cindy, I feel for you. I still remember so many of the sweet little men and women I took care of and lost. Hugs.

There are actually not that many specific coating/breading mixes here. I have only seen 4C, Kikkoman, and maybe one more? What I also do when I am eating carbs is I save all my end pieces of bread in a bag in the freezer and then when I have enough, I toast them in the oven and put them in the processor to make bread crumbs.

I had a rough time last night, processing that we are going to have another person passing away soon. She is one of the ones I have known for 23 years! Shirley, we will have her where I work, and there is a hospice team that comes to help us care for her. They have a doctor and a nursing team, massage therapy volunteers, chaplains...its an amazing group! Doesn't mean I'll cry any less...

My favorite coating mix right now is Fresh Thyme GF Seasoned Coating Mix. It doesn't have a lot of ingredients. I can't always get it so I also have Bloomfield Farms GF Seasoned Flour Mix. I have used others. Cindy will know more.

I went to the gym yesterday and didn't make it onto Sparks. It was nice to get a long swim, hot tub, and sauna. The pool is closed from 1:30 - 2:30 so I want to be there when it reopens today.

April, what brand of coating mixes do you like? Maybe I can find them here. Everything I've tried so far has been too hard, so I've been drying Udi's bread in the oven and making crumbs from that. A total pain and I'm hoping to find a replacement. Glad that you didn't hurt your foot too badly on the glass.

Cindy, I found the almond flour too sweet. I'm not a big fan of sweet. I do use the pork rinds, but just regular gluten free flour. You're a special person to work with clients who will be going to hospice rather than home. Of course it takes a lot out of you. Make sure you get the sleep you need.

Anna, rest up. It's so good that your family is so close.

I'd better head off to the gym. Hope that everyone has a great day.

I stayed overnight with my aunty and got back today.
Even though it was sad it was good to catch up with the relatives.
Tired today so early to bed.

Congratulations on getting rid of more 'stuff'.

I was tired today too and wanted to nap. I forced myself to get some things done at least. i am so sorry to hear about the patient on hospice. That is always hard. Hugs.

I didn't make my fish or anything, I snacked. Took a bath and went to bed. I was tired. I've been sleeping better, but I'm still tired lately and work is taking a lot out of me. I have more drama with the staff than anything at this point but we do have another person going on hospice. emoticon

I'll definitely keep you posted! I'm thinking about trying it this weekend on some chicken tenders. I'll definitely miss my fries, but I'll try to make a special veggie... maybe Asparagus.

I am looking forward to hearing how you like that combo breading.

We are determined to get rid of lots of junk! We started in November and are focused on getting on with this. It looks so much better already. We still have some big stuff to get rid of like vehicles and lawnmowers. Plus tons of stuff in the outbuildings. Once we get through this purge it will be easy to keep up with.

Shirley I buy the GF panko and put it in the processor so it gets a finer texture. Now I will be experimenting with a new combination... parmesan cheese, pork rinds and almond flour. I've successfully made mozzarella sticks with almond flour and parmesan cheese and I read that you can use pork rinds too but haven't tried it yet. All my GF stuff that's high carb it put up, out of sight!

You're really on a roll April!

Anna I have never made a fish soup...

Hubby and I are trying to get back into the groove. He has 22 "vacation" days a year - 15 vacation days, 3 personal days, 4 perfect attendance days and he took most of them in November and December this year. That doesn't count his 6 paid holidays and unpaid days off when the plant is closed. Many of them are in November and December too. So this is the first full week he has worked in a while and it will be an adjustment for us.

Hubby and I ran some errands on Saturday. It was warmer Sunday so Hubby and I worked outside and got 2 old toilets and a bunch of glass ready to haul off today. Glad to have that load of stuff gone. We went through one of the last piles of outdoor junk and decided what to keep and get rid of but we need to organize it now and haul it off. Later on we will go through the 5 outbuildings to look for stuff to get rid of. I stepped on a shard of glass and stabbed it into my foot but I'm okay. Not a lot of blood but my tennis shoe is toast. I need new ones anyway. Today is laundry, cleaning, and vacuuming. Then some paper work. I fixed some chicken yesterday for supper. I am doing some decluttering inside too. Threw away some clothes today. My fitbit didn't work for over 2 days but I got it going.

I like the GF panko crumbs but they are hard somewhat. I also buy some gluten free coating mixes I like too and they aren't.

I didn't make it to the gym yesterday as it was too late when John fixed the brakes. I need to go today, probably sooner rather than later. It is a grey day and really snowing, so I DON'T want to go...but I should.

April, our garlic doesn't last very long at all, so I hope the keeper helps. How do you like the gluten free panko crumbs? We've used the gluten free bread crumbs, but find them too hard.

Anna, so sorry to hear of the death of your first cousin. I'm so thankful that there are no fires where you live. The air quality is reported to be so bad anyway, it must be terrible to have asthma as well. Stay in and take care of yourself as much as possible. It's hard to stay away from sugar after the holidays because your body has got used to it again. The Australian bush fires are just so devastating.

Cindy, glad that the Atkins is working out for you. I've made a meal plan and so far we're sticking to it. I need a sustainable lifestyle that will work for both John and I. Definitely a work in progress.

Time for me to go be somewhat productive. I hope that everyone has a great day!

It's always hard to get back into it when you've had a break.

I was given some flathead fish heads and made a beautiful soup
today. Put in all sorts of vegetables. I am slowly clearing out my freezer
so that I can replenish with more fresh veg and fruit.

I am trying hard to stay away from sugar. White flour will be next.

I am praying for rain. It is amazing how the world has responded to our
ongoing fire devastation.

So sorry about the fires. It's very sad.

I got a lot of food prep done yesterday, not all. Finished the fridge. I have been doing well on Atkins and feel a lot better! If I can just remember that when I want to dive into a junk food binge!

Went back to work today. It was a decent day. I just miss my friend and my time off already! emoticon

Lucky Cassie Shirley.
There are no fires where we are in SE QLD.
I went because my elderly first cousin passed away and went to see family.
I couldn't breathe when I got back here and the asthma really wore me down.

All those animals dying is so depressing. Something needs to be done to prevent this and control it.

I have a garlic keeper but don't really know it it makes it last longer. I also get the gluten free panko crumbs.

I overdid things yesterday getting ready for our company, but it was worth it. I also destroyed the chicken Parmesan, BUT luckily all of them have given up meat so it wasn't a big deal. Only the cheese was inedible so Cassie loved that, but the chicken itself is actually still good and juicy (I guess that it was protected by the tomato sauce and cheese). We've got tons of leftovers for today. Also, yesterday I ordered some fountain pens, ink, and converters so I'm really spoiling myself. As well I ordered some gluten free panko crumbs and a garlic keeper. Do any of you use a garlic keeper? I hope that they help keep the garlic fresh longer.

Anna, we are following the Australian bush fires very closely. I can't believe what an idiot your P.M. is. The people are amazing though and really support each other. So many of the places that we visited on our 2017 trip are gone. I'm not sure how the country can recover from this. You will have to demand that your landlord fix the door. If he's busy with his wife then he needs to hire someone to fix it. It seems odd that you're going to Brisbane with all the fires, but I'm sure you'll have a great time.

April, it's great that you can keep your garbage down so much! We're working to get there, but we're not there yet.

Cindy, hope that you're having a good week at work.

I need to do some menu planning and grocery list today. Hope that everyone has a great day.

I feel guilty for the lovely weather we are enjoying here on the coast.
Half a billion animals have perished, and that is devastation on a huge
scale as some of these animals are on the endangered list.

I went for breakfast with my friend, then a drive along the seafront.
Now I am trying to fix my papers and using gloves and putting them
to dry out in the sun.

DS is coming in an hour and we are driving to Brisbane. This way I don't
have to worry about the air con on public transport.

Have a lovely weekend everyone.

I think there will be a Royal Commission to find out how the fires
go t so out of control. The Navy is taking evacuees to a safer place.
Most people were on summer holidays plus the locals who live in
these areas are going through a terrible hardship.

When the rains do come, there will be flooding as there will be no trees
left to contain the water. Catastrophe is all I can say. Not just koalas, but
we have a lot of native wildlife that has also perished.

I had a better day today and I went to the bank but came home straight after.
People are shopping, buying and I don't understand what they need all this stuff for...

Shirley - We have very little actual trash now - we don't waste much food and the wildlife eats what we don't or we put it in the compost pile. We have a trash compactor for cans and bottles that are not recyclable and only have a bag every few months. The bags we hauled off had mostly construction debris.

Anna, so glad you found the problem and will be able to get it fixed. Hugs. We see the Australia fires on T.V. The little koalas. So sad.

Everyone is starting the year with positive vibes.

Has anyone seen the devastating fires all over Australia.
Thank god we are safe here. I pray for those people who have lost
everything and pray for rain, but there is none in sight.

I think I may have found what is triggering my cough.
I decided to get busy and empty the paper work that I had stored in my closet.
I start opening the files and they are all wet and I can't understand how that
could be. Remember I keep saying that when we have heavy rain and storms
I get water in my garage. Well it must have dried but did the damage and there
is actually mold on a lot of the papers and I had some leather wallets a swell
that had to be thrown out. Mold can make you sick. I have to demand my landlord
comes to fix the damn door. Makes me so angry, but his wife is dying and...

I am starting to feel a lot better because of the Ventolin.

I'm heading for the gym after lunch, so I'd better get some chores done first. I didn't even finish unloading the dishwasher last night because my ankles were acting up. Sam has a cold, so company postponed until tomorrow.

Cindy, my fridge needs you! lol I need to at least do a quick wipe down of the door and shelves I can reach. Good for you keeping your carbs down.

April, you're doing good with the trash. We missed our garbage day again (first time we were in New Hampshire, second time we forgot). Since we only have garbage pickup every two weeks we'll have 6 whole weeks of garbage and recycle next time, so we can't forget again!! Luckily, we don't have that much garbage, usually one green bag every two weeks so not awful since it's winter and doesn't smell too much.

Time for me to start chores. Hope that everyone has a great day.

Anna, I slept better last night too though not as well as you did. Get well soon!

Cindy, I am glad to be back on schedule too. The holidays drag on too long for my taste.

Shirley, I hope you all have a great time.

The weather was nice again for one day so hubby and I spent some time outside working again. We reset some driveway pavers. He worked on the old truck a little. He loaded the truck with 3 bags of trash to haul off to work. We still have lots to haul off when we have time. I took out the recyclables, compost, and burned the trash.

I sure hope so, Shirley! I've heard this happens with menopause and I'm definitely heading there. I've been skipping periods for a year now and this latest skip is the longest so far... almost 90 days. I'll be happy when it's over!

I've been spending the day cleaning out and re organizing pantry and fridge. I washed and replaced all my door shelving, the produce drawers, and the bottom of the fridge. I prepped veggies while I was at it, and now have 3 shelves to clear and wipe down. I'm not going to take them out unless they're really awful.

Threw out a ton of expired stuff and stuff I had no idea how long it's been there!

Doing well on my 20g carb limit today.

I had a free promo offer from Uber eats. It was up to $30.
I finally figured out how to do the order and I ordered Chicken vindaloo
and vegetable samosas. I wanted something different for a change.

There was enough for 2 meals, so I don't have to worry about cooking.
This morning it looked as though we would get a storm, but it cleared
up and we had a very warm and humid. I was invited to a dinner up the
mountain but I am just staying in.

Have a great New Years's Eve if you are celebrating.

I have been so horrible I was laid out most of the day with GI issues and a headache! All by my own stupidity and eating carbage! I wish I didn't have to go to the extreme but I know that it's the thing that will kill these junk cravings and get me back some willpower! I'm actually thinking about doing the original 72 Atkins for a week as extra insurance.

Freezing rain today so my plan of going to the gym isn't going to happen. I also had a very bad night and couldn't sleep until morning so not much energy either.

Anna, the beans sound good. I am looking forward to some healthier meals.

Cindy, you are very ambitious. A great way to start off the new year with an organized kitchen. Probably not going to happen here. lol

April, missing you. Hope that you are doing well my friend.

Time to get some real food and get this show on the road.

I finally found out that I have an upper respiratory chest infection
and was given a second antibiotic today. Antibiotics make me hungry.
As you said Cindy, this madness of not eating right has to end tomorrow.

I have been invited to a dinner by our yoga teacher but I don't think I'll go
as it is an hour's drive away, then an hour back down the mountain.
I think I will just stay home and have an early night.
A lot of places have cancelled the fireworks display tomorrow night because
of the heatwave and the ongoing fires that are destroying so many houses and lives.

Let's make 2020 a great and healthy one.

Thanks, Shirley, and you are right. I have a lot of food left, and I have discovered that Thursday afternoon is meat mark down time at Walmart so I will go there if I find I need something.

Thanks Anna, she hasn't gotten here yet, they stopped along the way to visit family.

Haven't done much this weekend but sleep. I woke up early this morning so I just got up. I am actually kind of sore from laying around! So I will get up and get moving today! I want to re-organize my kitchen and probably donate a bunch of stuff. I have whole cabinets full of stuff I really never use. In a small galley kitchen, that space is precious! Since I have been so bad lately with eating, I need to get myself prepared and have my kitchen ready to start cooking again by Wed. The madness stops New Year's Eve! I am going back to full keto, at least for a time, to bust the carb cravings and hopefully give me a jumpstart. If I see results I will be more likely to continue.

You are good at going to the gym. I haven't been since I've been sick.
going to the doctor again tomorrow to see what is going on with this infection.

I made a chicken and vegetable soup which went down well. I was also given
some Madagascar beans and so I soaked them. My friend grows them in her
garden. She told me to just cook them and have them with sauteed onion and
garlic and drizzle some good olive oil and lemon juice. That will be lunch tomorrow.

Went straight to the gym this morning and then straight back. I only went swimming for an hour and then a short sauna as the hot tub was broken (again!) Monday I'll do a full workout, treadmill, bike, and swim. I think that the swim cap really did help my hair so that was great!

Anna, we had guests yesterday and I put out all hubby's baked treats which are now gone! I leave his home made chocolates as he is very disciplined with them and I know that they're his. Wow, I also joined Sparks in 2007! Time sure flies, doesn't it? So nice of your DS to surprise you with breakfast!

Cindy, I think that most people do spend more over the holidays. January might be tight, but on the other hand, you probably have everything you need from the holidays. We may never have to grocery shop again! emoticon Have fun with your friend and getting your house organized.

April, hope that you're both feeling better now.

I need to get off the computer and get something done. The Garmin has spoken, so time to move. Hope that everyone has a great day!

emoticon Hi everyone! Taking a break from my tasks to Spark some! I am off work until 1/5, my BFF is coming in for the week so I took off. I won't spend every minute with her, but am looking forward to seeing her and also catching up on things I have been letting slide around the house. Today I am completing paperwork/computer stuff and appointments I have been slacking on. Just set up my 2020 budget and logged in my receipts for December. I WAY overspent so it's going to be a tight January! Sigh. Finances seem to be a lot like overeating for me. I just get into these moods where I saw screw it and then I pay for it later. emoticon

Had the couch I ordered returned to Amazon this morning. It was sitting there for like 10 days, We had to cover it up real good with a tarp to keep the animals from destroying it! I get the one I ordered instead 1/10. They were the same price, and the replacement I was able to sit on a while in the store and confirm I like it.

Then I got an estimate on gutter cleaning. It was higher than I am used to paying but they can come next week and I don't want to call the people I normally do anymore. They come whenever they feel like it and last time we waited over a month!

Thank you. I am starting to feel better now. Since the little rain we had,
the air has cleared and it is so much better to breathe.

Just rested again today and apart from a load of washing and a little ironing
didn't do much else.

Happy anniversary, Shirley. Hubby's boss might have been upset about him not going but we don't want to expose anyone to being sick.

Happy Sparkversary, Anna!! I hope you feel better soon!!!

Merry Christmas and happy Hanukkah!

Went to my cousin's for a lovely light lunch. I gave away all my shortbread
so that I won't be tempted. Came home early as I was feeling sick.
Slept most of the day. Glad that everyone had a lovely Day yesterday.
Stay healthy everyone.

I joined Spark on Boxing Day 2007. !2 years a Sparkie and I am so grateful for
all my wonderful friends here. Seems surreal that 12 years have passed already.
Here's to another 12 happy years. emoticon

A wonderful, quiet Christmas with family. At Mass last night Father remembered our eldest son who died in 2016 and it meant a lot to us. I made too much food and I don't know where it will go. I still want to make more chocolates, so tomorrow after our guests leave I hope I have some energy.

April, you were smart to skip the company Christmas buffet if you weren't feeling well. I only wish that there were more smart people in the world! Our anniversary was Dec 23rd, but since we went on vacation the previous week I just wanted to stay in and have a light meal of our home made fish chowder.

Anna, praying that you get more rain and soon.

Merry Christmas Cindy.

I'm going to desert the family and go to bed. I'm beyond exhausted for some reason. Hope that everyone has a good sleep and wonderful dreams.

I love shortbread! I hope you feel better soon, Anna,

For Christmas Eve we went out for breakfast and stopped at the meat market. We worked outside again burning old lumber. For Christmas Eve we had New York Strip steaks, seasoned fries, slaw, a roll, black olives, green olives, pickle, fruit salad, cookie, piece of fudge.

Today I made a nice breakfast. We worked outside for a while gathering up stuff to haul off and burn. All the neighbors were blasting off guns all day. For Christmas we had beef roast with potatoes, carrots, celery, onions plus slaw, a roll, black olives, green olives, pickle, fruit salad, cookie, piece of fudge.

Merry Christmas everyone. Happy Chanukah.
