Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty. About 3 women friends in Australia, with their varying backgrounds and circumstances. There is a mystery that runs throughout the book - who gets killed and by whom - so there is suspense, and a lot of insight into such themes as domestic violence.
It's a fast-paced and easy to read book. I enjoyed it very much and gave it 4*.

Z: A Novel of Zelda Fitzgerald, Therese Anne Fowler 3.5 stars

Historical fiction about the life of Zelda Fitzgerald, wife of F. Scott Ftizgerald.

Not knowing a great deal about F. Scott Fitzgerald or his wife Zelda Fitzgerald I found parts of the book interesting but it was not the most exciting. It was hard to like either character and it was hard to follow at times because the author referenced a lot of people but expected you to remember people she had mentioned in earlier chapters. Needed more depth to it.

Carry On, Mr. Bowditch by Jean Lee Latham (5*)
This children's book tells the story of Nathan Bowditch, a self-educated mathematician and navigator who revolutionized navigation with his formulas and tables. His life was filled with bad luck and trouble but no obstacle or hardship could prevent his genius from finding expression.
This is a lovely children's book, written the way people who cared about youngsters used to write them--strong characters, much excitement, fairly accurate historical portrayal, and life lessons about perseverance, overcoming hardship and loss, and dealing honestly and ethically with people.

Plain Again (Plain Fame #3) by Sarah Price (2*)
This series about a rock star and Amish girl has soured, badly. The author seems to have suddenly changed her mind about writing a trilogy and decided to stretch the third volume out to three books. Does she have the material to do that and keep the stories fresh and interesting--no. Most of this book is essentially a repeat of Book 2--go to concerts, interviews, after parties, award shows, then do it again, wash, rinse, repeat until the couple finally have a bit of a story, and a far from good one, in about the last 75 pages. This book was repetitive and boring, and I think this is a good place to quit this series gone stale.
