14/15 with tonight's practice to go! I have been doing sun salutations for 10 minutes before I shower in the morning. A nice way to wake up. My evening practices are longer 30 to 60 minutes. It's nice to have a goal.

I can't believe that I actually met the 15x sept goal (I'm usually never so disciplined). But as a beginner in yoga, I have fallen in love with it and now can't imagine not practicing often.

Meditation: 15-20 min/day
Practice: 45 min/day
Cleansing (jal neti etc.,) 2x/week

I know it's late in the month, but I am trying to get back into doing daily yoga, so I thought I would go ahead and jump in.

I re-started yoga yesterday, and my goal is at least 10 minutes a day from yesterday through the end of the month.

I think I am going to give up on trying to do a monthly challenge for the rest of this year. I already do yoga at least 15x a month (mostly because I do it every morning, give or take the very rare days when I don't do any yoga).

With Rob's health, things have been a bit crazy around here and he isn't working so he's home almost all of the time. This wouldn't be a problem if he could be here without a television running constantly or telling me every time he is going to step outside for a cigarette (hopefully, he'll quit soon) or to go to the shed to do whatever it is men do in sheds to keep themselves busy.

But he does. Even if I'm doing my yoga or meditating. Even if the door is closed and I tell him before I begin. He's always very sweet and apologetic about it but the end result is the same.

So yay me for keeping up with the morning yoga and taking advantage of his running errands and such to do more but I have to be flexible to get anything done. Unfortunately, a commitment demands a little inflexability with a time limit expectation that I simply cannot fulfill right now. I don't feel frustrated or defeated, however. It's always nice to try something and, when it doesn't fit, acknowledge the why and wherefore and move on.

I took one yoga class got pregnant then bought a pregnant yoga tape and then the baby came and I gave the tape away because it seems I don't have time - but I remember being relaxed and more self-aware - help me get back there. I don't know the poses or where to start. the only pose I remember I do in the shower where I put my hands palms touching and reach up to God to stretch and ask for his grace...suggestions would be appreciated. Busy mom of 2 and hubby makes 3 (smile) emoticon

I got a yoga book from the library: it has 30 poses. i plan to go through this book in septemper. i did 1-4 on sat

My goal this month will be 15 sessions; today was the first one.

Sep 1: 1/15 Sun Wind Namaste Yoga on Fit TV 25 min, it was challenging at the beginning with the leg extended pose, balance, balance...then forward bend,down dog, pidgeon, one leg down dog, plank, down dog,forward bend and back to the breathing earth rain, my heart was pounding at the end, the cool down was welcome

I hear you on that... I live in a dorm room myself and have no money. I've got a pretty decent yoga mat, as well as a couple of blocks (which I have yet to ever use or try), and I'm aiming for 10 too. I'd love to do 15, but knowing how class schedules and random meetings get in the way often, it's hard to commit sometimes. Best of luck to you!

I love yoga. Heck, I'm Indian. It's in my blood. I'm going to aim for 10, because, realistically, I live in a dorm room, have no money and am doing ROTC. Yoga will only enhance my ability to perform for ROTC. If I make it to 10, then I will certainly raise the bar and go for 15!

During the month of August I had an experiment on whether or not I would practice yoga "on the mat" without posting my sessions on SP. And guess what? I only practiced 4 times!?! How ridiculous is that? It just shows how undisciplined I am. Life is going to happen anyway so might as well take a breather with yoga.

Thank you for this very supportive team! Thank you for the new challenge. I will commit to 15 sessions per month.

Well, July and August were brutal but I still managed to do yoga 15x and then some. I had hoped to also do a weekly pranayama and chanting meditation practice but, seriously, July and August were brutal. So here I am again, in September, daring to make the same commitment. Let's hope that the fates will allow this month to be calmer and more forgiving than the previous months have been.

PS: I didn't get to do my silent weekend retreat after all. Instead, I spent the past weekend worrying over Rob who ended up in the emergency room (again!) on Saturday. I still need a retreat of some sort but apparently now is not the time.
