Yes, Punchie, I'm still working, I'm not in a clinical area (Medical Records), but we are still considered "essential". And the environment changes daily...

I'm up to 23 days of yoga, and 29 days of meditation. Working on a headspace called "acceptance".

One more Zoom yoga this morning with my instructor and fellow yogis. (19 total)
I did a DoYouYoga practice and meditation, as well. The meditation had some very good breathing techniques and mantra suggestions. There are so many ways to meditate. It is so helpful in these stressful times, especially after watching he news.

18 yoga practices.
I have 6 miles to reach my monthly walking goal of 50 miles.
I have meditated and prayed every day this month.

Thanks for the virtual goodies, YesTango!

I'm up to 28 days of meditation and 21 days of yoga...the yoga has fallen off, I do miss my regular class, and work just feels to busy to stop and do the office yoga. I have been getting on my mat at home though, and working in some Budokon flows during the week!

Thank you for the encouragement everyone! It is nice to have a community to be in while isolating with the hubby (who fits 3 of 5 criteria for "high risk") our kids pick up things for us and leave them at the door.

Also, I wanted to send everyone sparkgoodies!!! but I couldn't find the place to "send a goodie"
So, I send each of you limber lovelies a new yoga mat, a vacation, and an orchid.

Hugs all around.

My March challenge is going strong. When I get on the mat in the morning as the sun starts to peak over the houses, it's a like a lovely hug to start the day.

Two days ago, I needed some core work so I went back to Yoga With Adriene's Day 6 from her recent 30 days of yoga series. That's a tough one. I'm still feeling my core when I stretch, cough, sneeze or laugh.

I have done yoga with my instructor on Zoom every morning.....3 more to add to my total. 15 for the month.
Meditation every morning before I start my day.
My walking miles are a bit behind. Our rain is supposed to end this evening. Hopefully I can catch up and get out there. It would be good for my soul. Im feeling very cooped up, as are we all.
Namaste everyone.

It's really wonderful the technology that can keep up together when we have to be apart, isn't it?

My CrossFit gym is offering zoom classes as well. I haven't tried yet, but who know maybe? I'm doing the WOD's they post and still engaging via the app and facebook. As for my yoga classes, I don't think there is anything going on with them, maybe I should check the website.

At least a lot of the fitness center staff are being put to work at the main hospital (they are affiliated and under the same HR) doing registration and whatever else needs to be done. I think we are also doing quick hire of extra environmental services folks from local casinos/hotels since many of them are out of work right now.

I'm at 22 days of meditation and 18 days of yoga for the month, and yes, it does help keep some of the anxiety at bay (that and Netflix, just to escape!)

I did another class on Zoom with my instructor. (10 of 12). She will do a class (maybe 2) every day, 7days a week. I’ll be doing more yoga than I was before this challenging time.
I’m keeping up on walking miles in between rain storms.
I meditate a lot lately to combat anxiety and increase gratitude.

Yay!!!!!
I figured out Zoom and have done two practices with my yoga instructor and many of my fellow yogis! Last night was a 1 1/2 hour Yin class. (8 of 12 for my intention) This morning was a "stress relief" practice. (9 of 12) She is planning on doing 1 or 2 practices a day. I am beyond grateful as I was getting a bit depressed. I feel more connected now and even though I can practice on my own at home, I love seeing my community.

Stay healthy everyone,
Namaste

Hi Team,
Thanks for the encouragement Patricia. My yoga instructor contacted me this morning about a Zoom yin yoga class that was supposed to be at her house. Unfortunately I could not figure out how to do it. Im going to call her and ask questions. But, it seems like a good option for many different activities.

YESTANGO, KELLIEBEAN, LESLIESENIOR, KAYOTIC , what a weekend and beginning of the week.!!!!Things are changing rapidly!!!! No bars, restaurants, stores or studios open. The 4 studios we used to go to are closed, but fortunately there is an app called "zoom meeting" and "zoom pro" for streaming the classes, it is fun to say hi to the instructors from our backyard where we have set the mat for the practice. Do you have the same thing in your neck of the woods?

Stay well and safe, this too shall pass, hopefully sooner than later....

I did my yoga at home this morning, threw in a Budokon move just for grins!

Hi all.
Our gym where I practice has not closed yet but I have decided to not practice there for a while. I’ll practice at home.
Today I did a “yoga in practice” that I have recorded off our pbs station. (7 of 12)

I’m keeping up in walking miles. It’s a way to get out of the house and not be near anyone.

Tough times. We must all be in this together!!!

Well, my gym where I do yoga is closed for the time being, so I'll be doing my office yoga, or my own self practice.

I'm now at 16 meditations and 14 days of yoga for the month.

Hi all! Hope everyone is well. Scary times. Last week I was okay, not getting worked up, this too shall pass but with everything shutting down in Illinois, my dad calling me scared, anxiety is getting to me.

I know still, this too shall pass. We are not hoarding paper products or buying out hand sanitizer. I just feel like the world is tilting funny and I'm worried about everyone.

So I'm taking the necessary precautions, working from home as directed and I've made my March goal of at least three yoga sessions of 15 minutes or more each week.

Saturday night I hit the mat before bed with no music or video, just ran through some of my favorite relaxing poses.

I did not sleep well at all, last night. The swirl of worry in my head. This morning I did Yoga With Adriene for Anxiety before I logged into work. All that breathing really does help a bit. Especially the alternate nostril breathing. Every little bit helps!

Hi friends hope you all are healthy and safe. Today the Houston Area started to shut off in the attempt to keep people healthy and safe. Hope in your communities is the same thing. Stay well. Keep safe.

This post is from the Atrium, the studio my daughter is doing her 200hours certification course:

Trust. Faith. Saucha.
Friends, its corona season. And while we know it is important to be informed and aware, we also believe in nurturing what is real, and relevant, and right in front of us: this breath, this body, this community. Now more than ever, our world needs connection rather than isolation.

Our yoga practice encourages faith over fear, dharma over doubt, and clarity over confusion. Trust {this too shall pass}, Faith {everything is happening exactly as it should}, and Saucha {the practice of cleanliness}. Trust and faith and good hygiene is an incredible prescription for health and wealth!

With that, we wanted to remind you of a few simple tips + reminders:

If you are not feeling well, please stay home. Well be here when youre feeling 100%.
Wash your hands before and after practice.
Avoid touching your face, eyes + nose.
Bring your own props, if you prefer. If you choose to use our props, know that they are cleaned regularly and well just ask that you spritz the studio props after practice with our disinfectant spray.
We are BIG proponents of bringing your own yoga mat. Your mat is a sacred space that is well worth the investment.
We have hand sanitizer + tissues located at check-in and in the practice spaces.
Our studio professionally cleaned regularly.

Other sweet tips to manage anxiety during this uncertain time.

Meditate on the daily.
Go to bed earlier!
Eat fresh, nourishing, whole foods.
Practice breathwork. Keep it simple: close your eyes, put your hands on your heart, and breathe in and out.
Move your body.
Connect with nature.
Connect with people. In real life.
Disconnect from social media and the news. Be informed but also be discerning about which and how much information you take in.
Stay positive. Share good vibes. Hang with people who enhance your vibe!

Atrium family, we love you. Be well!
xoxo

I found it interesting and comforting, what are your thoughts?

Missed yoga class this morning, I woke up and it was 5:30 already...just not enough time in my morning to make that class.

I ended up doing my short office yoga instead. 12 days of meditation, 11 days of yoga for the month.

My yoga class is at a more traditional gym, not a yoga studio. So there are a variety of classes, and this one is sandwiched between a boxing class and a bootcamp type class. I do enjoy it though, and the time works well for me (as well as the location, since it is associated and next door to the hospital I work at!)

I'm up to 11 days of meditation and 10 days of yoga. Somehow I forgot to pull out my mat on Sunday!

YESTANGO fantastic practice!

KAYOTIC I understand the feeling of arriving a couple of minutes late, it has happened to me in the last two studio classes due to accidents, unexpected events, in the highways, fortunately the instructors have allowed my daughter and I take the class. So in your case the class is 55 min long, here in Houston so far are 60 min or 90 min. The instructors leave 30 min in between classes so people have time to clean the mats/props and leave and new people come in and set the mats/props (parking and cubbies management too). Glad you could do the class too!

KELLIEBEAN the most important thing is that you have gone to the mat. Great practice!

LESLIESENIOR, listening to your body is great. Take care.

LADYBUG166 good plan!

3/6 :3/15 Yin Yoga, Four Dragons studio, 60 min, Chopra Meditation 19 min

Thank you Patricia. I am modifying everything so I can keep practicing. It is a good time to keep my ego out of my practice and just do what I can.
Last night’s practice focused on twists, standing and sitting poses. It was a sweaty workout. (3 of 12)

I fit in my three 15-minute sessions this week. Actually, each session was 25 - 40 minute.

Tonight, after my run, I didn't follow any video I just got on the mat in child's pose, and went through my own yin yoga moves.

I kind of made it on time today, they had just started...this instructor starts earlier than my previous one did though, technically they are supposed to start at 5 after and end at 5 min before the start of the next hour to leave time for the classes to come and go...well I still made it!

I'm at 5 days for the month of yoga and meditation.

KAYOTIC great to be able to be on time for your yoga. Keeping your daily practice is awesome and inspiring!

First practice of the month at the gym. I was very mindful of my left shoulder. It is still acting quirky and hurts on and off. But, I will continue to practice and take good care of it. (1 of 12)

I’ll stick with my intentions:
*12 minimum yoga practices at the studio, at my instructor’s home, or at home. Yin, Hatha, Vinyasa, or Restorative. I will be mindful of my shoulders but try to strengthen them.
*50 miles walking/jogging
*meditation and prayer every morning- minimum 15 minutes

Happy March everyone. Namaste.
