Thanks! I hope you have a nice weekend too!

Yah... I noticed too about the water; I don't swim with Eric... but, last few days, I've had a bath with him and I let him float about. He calms right down when he's just laying there in the deep water. He has a tendency to tilt is head back though... so, I have to watch that all the time! lol... but, I let the water reach up to his ears... he likes when the back of his head is submerged too. :)

Hi!

You know, I think I've noticed a similar pattern in Asher's sleep when I get him outside, usually for a walk or swim or something like that. You would think that would be enough to prompt me to get out more often, wouldn't you? :-p

The VCR situation hasn't been taken care of yet, but mostly because DH and I have planned to find a small, simple cabinet to house the TV and VCR, and haven't had a chance to even look for one in the last couple of weeks that Asher's been crawling. I'm hoping to make that more of a priority this weekend.

I hope you have a nice weekend!

HI!

Well, my week has been pretty good. The first bit of the week, Eric has been awake quite a bit more than usual during the day but yesterday? Wow... he slept the whole day and night away! (with exception of getting up to eat, have his bath, and maybe a few min. here and there.) I took him outside for a bit the last few days... I think that helps him to sleep better.

Well, my 2 boys are wanting breakfast.. I should go!

How was your week? Did you find a solution yet for the VCR?

Take Care! :)

We've had a nice peaceful week thus far. Asher has been so cheerful and delightful, and Elijah has been very mellow and adorable. I wanted to go to the park this morning too, but Asher's naptime interrupted the original plan, the hideous humidity gave me pause, and then we had the craziest thunderstorms all afternoon. So no outdoor playtime here. :-/

Your visit with your friend sounds so great! We're heading to NY to visit our families in a few weeks, and I'm really looking forward to it.

It is amazing how time is flying. I can't believe your tiny boy is almost a month old! Wow!

We still haven't rectified the issue with the TV/ VCR, and everyday, Asher scoots himself over in that direction a little more quickly than the day before. He didn't hear "no-no" very much before last weekend, but he sure is hearing it a lot now!

How was your day?

Hi! How are you?

My week has been a little busy... one of my best friends from the city came up to visit. We try to visit each other at least once a year. We usually go camping but, this year, with a newborn, it wasn't a good idea to go!

heheh... Babies sure can get into things... and toddlers! I'll be having to baby-proof my living room in a few months too as I have surround-sound speaker wires all along the walls just laying there. I'll have to tuck them under.

I can't believe how time is flying! Eric will be one month at the end of this week!

Yesterday, I took the boys to the playpark... and so many misquitoes! I couldn't believe it! I'm glad I put on the mosquito mesh on Eric's stroller. But, I never thought to bring the bug-spray! So, we had to leave earlier than expected. Oh well... They got their play-time in anyway :)

Thanks for the tip on the book. I kept that in mind as I read to him subsequent to reading your post and the story isn't very long. Can't be more than 2-3 mins total. The first page is the longest and LO's squirmiest. It's a nice routine though.

I'm glad you enjoyed your holiday weekend. Funny that we had thunderstorms all weekend too, much further south of you. :-p We had the most beautiful, perfect day for Independence Day though. Really couldn't complain.

The crawling has been just tickling. Asher seems somewhat more independent since realizing he can get from Point A to Point B without help. He's even happier just sitting in a pile of toys watching his big brother to one side and mommy to the other. Such a relief for me!

Our biggest hurdle with the crawling is definitely our TV/VCR setup. The first DH said when I told him LO was crawling is "we better get a entertainment center, huh?" What is it about babies and VCRs and buttons and anything precariously perched. Lord... as if motherhood wasn't stressful enough. :-p

How are things going for you this week?

:)

My weekend was alright... it was Canada Day long-weekend and we didn't do much because we've had many days of rain and thunderstorms. (Even today, we are expecting some more thunderstorms.)

Just to comment on the bedtime story... .. You're not reading the whole book are you? :) My LO's at that age could never sit still for a whole story... I just showed them a few pages and talked about the pictures. ... maybe only 1-2 min worth.

I think what really worked for me was that after their nightly bath.. I would massage their legs with baby lotion (I liked the soothing purple one) and I would massage their back and a little of their arms.. and mostly their feet. They always relaxed after that... ... Maybe that will help?

Congrats on the crawling!! :D I love watching their eyes when they discover new things about themselves! :)

Hope you're having a good day! Take Care!

Aw, so cute! Elijah really wanted a baby, and while I was pregnant, he changed his mind periodically as to whether he should get a brother or sister. He's already started to hint that we should have another baby. Unfortunately for him, MOMMY isn't ready. :-p

We had a good weekend. Nice and relaxing. LO slept terribly Saturday night (I think I got 4 hours total and even that was broken) but better last night. I am still reorganizing his bedtime routine and even went so far to buy (used) a bedtime story. Last night was our first night reading, and he was less than cooperative, but I'm hopeful that will change.

Big news though! He finally started to crawl! I think he's still in the average range for crawling but months behind where DS was, so it feels like we've been waiting forever. Which reminds me: I better go vacuum again!

Hi! :)

Jeremy and Elijah *are* very close in age :) Jeremy does love helping out with Baby Eric but, Brendan? (my 3 yr. old)... he has his moments! lol... One day he'll love him... the next he doesn't. See, he REALLY wanted a baby sister because he already has a "brother"... I think he's very disappointed. For the last 3 months of my pregnancy, I would overhear him singing, "I'm going to have a baby sisterrrrrr"... lol Jeremy also wanted a sister but, he'll gladly take Eric!

Thanks for the tip! I'm terrible about routines myself, so it's difficult to get my babes into consistent ones. LO's bedtime doesn't have a distinctive routine to speak of. He has a bath almost every night (his favorite part of that day!) and he BFs before bed, but I don't think he really associates either with sleeping. I think that I will work on a routine, though. I'm going to think it through and try to decide what we could be doing/ differently, and hope we hit on something.

My big boy never had an issue with sleeping either. EVER. He slept through the night at 2 1/2 mos. which is part of the reason I've been so baffled with LO.

On a separate note, your Jeremy and my Elijah are the same age, within a month of each other! Eli's Nov. 1, 2000.

How are your big boys doing with their new baby brother? Elijah LOOOOOOVES LO. Almost annoyingly so.

Glad to know everything is well! :)

But, Hope your LO can be on a better sleeping habit.... He sounds like his internal clock is established... and it'll take a while to change it to try to match yours.

Does he have a solid bedtime routine? One thing I must admit that my previous boys did well on.. is sleep. (One is 6 now and the other is 3) and all these years, I've never had problems with them. (With sleeping that is.... don't ask me how they were with other things! lol)

I'm sure it was the bedtime routine that made them to sleep well...

Does your son have a nightly bath? I found that when my boys had one.. it worked *wonders* to help them to sleep. Especially if they had a long/tough day and I would use that purple/lavendar babies' bubble bath to use. (Johnson's has their brand... but, I buy the inexpensive Walmart brand)

Sounds like things are going well though :) I'm also a fan of routines! Makes life a lot easier! :)

Take Care and hope your day is going well :)

I am doing pretty well, thanks! My life is pretty routine and everything is running as per normal. My little person doesn't sleep particularly well, and his pediatrician recommended this past week at his 9 mo. appt that we try pushing his bedtime back somewhat. So we're trying that. Two nights it seemed to worked pretty well. Last night, not so much. The child has some kind of radar that goes off just as I'm about to drop off to sleep. Grr. But we'll see how he sleeps tonight and I'm going to try to go to bed a little earlier than my usual time (too late!).

My big guy is pretty awesome and his dad and I are just loving on him this week. He's been writing "stories" in the Paint program on our family computer, hilarious paragraphs with the punctuation and spelling only a six year old could get away with. I'm terribly proud.

All in all, everything is good. I really can't complain. :-D

I'm glad to hear that Eric is doing well and that your headaches have gone away. What a thing to have to deal with! As for the bleeding, take it easy, girl! But I wouldn't worry about it too much. I bled for 6 weeks with my firstborn and didn't think anything of it. Gross, but apparently not abnormal. :-p

Take care of yourself, though!

Hi! Thanks for the concern... my headaches have finally stopped.... *whew* after 5..!.. days straight of having them... I think it's 'cause I was working myself too hard right after the baby was born and I was bleeding so much (I don't remember bleeding this much with my other 2) and not getting enough fluids. I was drinking ... but, maybe not enough to make up for all that blood-loss.

(That's what I figure anyway... Still not sure why those headaches were so bad!)

Even though it's been 2 weeks since I had Eric, I still bleed like crazy if I overwork (like chores and such)... and when I rest, is when the bleeding stops or "calms" down. Hmmm.. ... ....

... And Eric is doing fine :) He has a lot of gas so I see... but, he doesn't fuss really about it... so, That's good. :)

How are you doing? :)
