I hear you on age! My body still does whatever I ask of it, which is a gift. And I am JUST starting to get enough exercise that I can feel it building on itself. But I was amazed in my 30s just how quickly my body was willing to put on muscle and now I'm stunned by just how much muscle I've managed to lose. Thank goodness I'm still healthy enough to push back the other way, but it seems to just take longer.

Good review. I forgot it was half way though the year. EPP!!

For me,
Physical activity: I am doing a decent job building up a new routine, but it is slow. I miss being strong and in shape like I was years ago. Starting over just feels slow. I am also older now, so it is like everything takes longer. But that's okay. I'm better off now, than I was a month ago, etc etc :).

This year I have also learned a lot more about my migraines, making them more of a focus. There are strong links to blood sugar and my issues, so a good workout and eating routine will continue to help improve things. Baby steps here too.

I did my 200 mile bike challenge!

Overall, my life is really good right now. I am just working on the same parts I have been working on for over a decade.... :)

Looking back over the first half of the year,
finished the school year well and I have high hopes for next year
eating well but not exercising as consistently as I need to - it's not the body fat that bothers me so much as the wimpy muscles
I like where I'm living, who I'm dating, life in general
getting geared up for the political work of the next year: important national elections, the gerrymandering fight, the local debate over school segregation...

Life is good. Just need to sit less.

I finally lost half a pound, after being stalled for weeks. But as my husband pointed out, not gaining is still a positive thing. Plus I've increased the length of my daily walk, accomplished some goals around the house, done a little more writing. Just taking it day by day.

Thomas and I avoided that cold, and have been pretty healthy. *knock wood* Waiting for the snow to melt, which will make my daily walk a little easier. I've been unexpectedly busy the last couple weeks, but I'm hoping to get some writing done today.

I hope you two made it through without getting sick!

I think I am getting ready for spring. We have gone back to artic weather, and it is not helping me get over my cough.

The snow sure was pretty though!

Hi Loren! My husband is dealing with some big issues right now, and I'm trying to help him without completely waylaying my own goals which is what usually happens. It's great if I can actually do something for him, but half the time I'm just worrying which causes me to stress eat and abandon my own projects. It's not like that does him any good. I guess the base issue is dealing with stress, and I'm trying to do better. This week is going well, I'm doing some chores, walking for exercise, writing. 2018 was a challenging year, and I'm hoping 2019 will be better. *fingers crossed*

Good question!

So far 2019 has been treating me okay. The things I can't control are going pretty well. There have been some annoyances (the cold made my car not start and related issues). But overall, things are looking up.

For the things i can control, I am getting pretty much what I work for, even if that isn't what I want. Can't really complain about that though!!
