Confession: I haven't worked out since last Saturday and I had BK last night. I wasn't looking forward to it, I've been calling it Trash King but we couldn't think of anything else for dinner. It was terrible, not doing that to myself again. I got a grilled chicken sandwich and meh. Time to restart the ticker.

Happy November everyone! I started a workout program yesterday and did Day 2's workouts today. A combination of low impact cardio and abs/obliques workouts. Tomorrow's workout is upper body with weights.

Speaking of Fast Food. I took a trip over the weekend for a wedding in Jamaica. At the airport in Jamaica, my husband got burger king, the original chicken sandwich, and he said it was so much better than the one we had at home. He let me try a piece; I knew from the smell it was already better, and then I tasted! Real chicken real mayo, real romaine lettuce, even the bun was better. So I asked him to get me a chicken sandwich too. This might be the best deterrent from getting the local burger king for dinner because I can't go back to that trash now emoticon emoticon

So it occurred to me this morning that like beef burger patties that can be cooked directly from frozen I could probably do that for chicken patties. So I am going to meal prep chicken patties, freeze them so on days when fast food is the only option I can take out a chicken patty and eat is with some steamed veggies. Or as a chicken burger because you can freeze bread and reheat from frozen too.

I am slowly getting back on track. Last week I started doing the #MoveIt challenges. And this week I am doing it again. Currently I am doing 10 minutes a day for 7 days. I some how started my week yesterday. Last night I did 10 minutes of squats while watching TV. I've also been waiting on pay day (which is today) to purchase a workout program from Fitness Blender called Low Impact:

I'm also tracking my food in a food journal, I find that easier to do then using the nutrition tracker because then I try to hard to be precise and then it takes too long and I give up. In my journal I just list out what I've eaten. I would love to meal plan more, but my problem is we don't have a regular schedule, some times we aren't home for dinner and we won't know until the day of and then food gets wasted.

My goal is to improve my sense of self-worth. I got inspired by a video by where she was answering questions of how she lost weight. And her answer was basically she learned to love herself and the weight loss was a result of that because when you love yourself its easier to start doing things that are good for you.

So as part of learning to love myself I've been listening to videos on how to change how you talk to yourself (stopping negative self talk). It won't be easy but I am going to try.

Well I am always here to help motivate you any way I can. I can help you meal plan or give you ideas if it will help. My hubby does not eat healthy or exercise either, he will eat a cheeseburger and fries while I have a grilled chicken salad. I know it's a little different, but his junk food is hard to resist sometimes.

How are things other wise? Do you feel like you are getting back on track? What are your current goals?

Well he supports me but he doesn't want to by participating. He can't join me food wise because there is very little he can eat already. Healthy eating for me would be unhealthy for him, he can't eat anything with lots of fiber, he's allergic to nuts, is lactose intolerant and can't have gluten. I wish he would join me when I did workouts but alas I'll have to continue on my own.

I'm browsing the web for swim training schedules as I am planning to do a 3K open water swim next year :D. I have about 8 months to train.

Can you believe I got hit with the flu last Wednesday? Totally put my exercise on the back burner. I am finally feeling better today so I am starting back today.

It's my time of the month so I might do a core workout.

How is the meal prepping going? That's another thing I want to master but one thing at a time.

In a rare moment of meal prep, I made these meatballs back in January.

I doubled the recipe and they were delicious and so handy to have in the freezer. (I need to make them again, maybe I'll do it this weekend since I'll have access to an oven instead of my tiny toaster oven)

You don't need to defrost ahead of time, take them out and simmer in a sauce (I use jarred Ragu) for 15-25 minutes (until heated through)

Congrats on the getting a workout in, I hope you did not hurt afterwards. I see what you are saying about the meat thing, I guess because I've never been Vegan, I don't get it lol.

I think in the case for when people want vegetarian/vegan alternatives that taste and feel like meat. They are usually going meat-free for ethical reasons but that doesn't stop the meat cravings or stop them from missing it so these "fake" meat options help them satisfy that craving without giving into eating real meat. I can't do the fake meat stuff though it makes me sick.

Ugh being woken up at midnight is not fun. Especially when you have trouble falling back to sleep.

After a very long time of barely exercising, I finally did a workout yesterday! It kicked my butt and I was worried my hip was going to be really painful today but it just has a mild pain :). So yay. I have plans to do a workout program in October so from now and for September I want to slowly start building back my strength/stamina/endurance. I finally got my set of powerblock weights and I used them yesterday ^_^.

I am with you on no meat substitutes. Last week or the week before I tried the veggie burger at Burger King and ugh I had to cover that in BBQ sauce and afterwards my stomach was not happy so I've sworn off meat substitutes after that. I have just been eating beans, salads, sandwiches, eggs, and pasta. I made my own black bean burger patties using a recipe from Sally's Baking Addiction sallysbakingaddiction.com/be

and they are very flavourful, mines did not turn out nearly as thick as in the picture. I think I would have to make only 4 patties if I want them that thick.

I've tried meat substitutes and just cannot do it. I've got to Vegan places with a friend who is vegan and all the stuff that is made to taste like things they shouldn't eat is weird to me. When I do a no meat day, it's fruit and veggies.

I see. The most I usually lose in a week (if I actually try, I have been very lax on my goals this year) is half a pound. Best of luck on your challenge I know you can do it :).

I've been doing alright with my vegetarian challenge. Saturday I had my first real craving for meat, bacon! But thankfully it wasn't too bad. My mother in law bought something called meatless ground to make for tacos (it was made from soy protein concentrate and spices) and it was OK with all the taco fixings. I'm not big on meat substitutes I prefer to just have veggies and beans so I don't think I would buy it to have for myself. Glad I got to try it though.

Tonight I'll probably have leftover veggie pizza.

Happy July! Yesterday was a holiday and the last one until November.

I do have a July goal, and it is to be Vegetarian for the month.

It was going okay, but I forgot the lunch and snack I had prepared at home so now I have to figure out what I am going to eat later.

I do but I don't 100% know what I want to change my career to. And my biggest problem is trying to figure out if I don't love an option or if I am just afraid of failing at an option. I am considering going into copy editing, but I am not the best writer so does that mean it's not for me or do I just need to take the classes and I will get better at it and be a good copy editor eventually? Anyway, I'll figure it out soon hopefully.

On a lighter note just came back from vacation, finally got to visit London and Europe :D. Not all of Europe of course but a few countries - Italy, Malta, and Spain.

I'm not but only because I know I won't be able to participate as much as I should. I also want to focus less on the scale and more on non-scale victories. Hmm...I guess I should create some goals so I can start working towards those victories.
