I live in a house full of guys who love the Browns. My ten year old son has a obsession with all things Cleveland. My 7 year old and 4 year just love whatever daddy loves. My oldest swears up and down that the Browns WILL make the playoffs. GO Browns!!!!

Yeah! Wear those jerseys, you go girl! Cleveland Rocks! My husband is from Cleveland. We live in Wichita and belong to the Browns Backers here called the Oz Chapter. We try to get in all the Browns games we can. My favorite player is Joshua Cribbs. I am so glad he is still on our team. Go Browns! Here's hoping for a great football season.

Born in Cleveland and a lifelong fan. Moved to Maryland in 2006 and married a Ravens fan. No way am I ever converting! I remember seeing Bernie when he was just a rookie running around at training camp. :)

I proudly wear my Browns jerseys especially on weekends when we play the stinky Ravens.

We ended up tailgating at the FBI parking lot. $10 bucks and there were a ton of people AND it was further away so i got a nice walk out of it too! Made up for the 3 beers I drank!

If we could have ended the game in the 3rd quarter, I think everyone wouldn't be so grouchy today. That 4th quarter was a mess. If they show that AP run ONE MORE TIME where we missed like 4 tackles i might just scream and cry! And already the radio was full of knuckleheads calling for DA and Mangini's head. COME ON CLEVELAND! GET A GRIP! Give them some time to work out the newness of it all. If by the end of October they still stink, then we can talk.

Well, that was fun. My 4 Titan friends & 2 Steeler friends (I have GOT to find some Browns fans down here (the only one I know is the ex & can you say "Party of One, Please?"}) just left. Titans with their heads hanging low (I hate that for them...). The Browns are looking better & I hope they can continue to improve into the start of regular season. Defense looked good & I liked seeing Quinn with a passing game. Go Browns.

yes, both did ok, I just got to see more of Anderson. He is still having trouble with his passing game though. He was able to pull Detroit offsides a few times & seemed to make better decisions (than in the past). Quinn also did just ok..threw an interception though. He just needs more time on the field. I don't care which QB starts...I just want to win some games this year! GO BROWNS.

He needed a pocket. Remember everytime he took off running, I think everyone in the stadium held their breath. But, really it was his intelligence that was amazing. I don't know if it's urban legend, but I heard that his last play as a Cleveland Brown he drew up in the sand (it was a touchdown pass too, I believe). He would make a great quarterback coach. As the game evolves, defenses are getting more and more complicated and more stealthy. It's not only necessary to be a great athlete with the best arm, you really have to study the game.

Wow ..I started tearing up when I was reading the article. It's a real shame the way he was used up. I know first hand about all the pain the game brings as I played high school, college and semi-pro football all totalling 11 years and to live with the scars missing teeth and hobbled walk, but I never made more than a grand a year so I didnt have anyone callin me for cash. What a shame he was to nice to say no. If the Browns were smart they'd hire him back as their play by play guy or give him a job in the front offices...

Great article. My sister in law is a huge Steelers fan, and we were talking about football one day and I had mentioned Bernie. My brother who is a Tribe fan and has a cursory knowledge about football stated that Bernie is not an icon in Cleveland and my sister in law jumped on him before I could and told him how wrong he was. I wish Bernie knew how much he is still loved in Cleveland.
I feel bad for the sports figures that get used by him. There are a lot out there. Family and friends always have their hands out. It's a shame.

you have to read this article. if you watch alot of ESPN (around the horn and parden the interruption especially), then the author is someone you know. Dan Le Batard wrote this article about Bernie and it is very eye opening and well written.

I love Bernie and think he is a great guy. He is always candid in his interviews and great for the CLeveland Community!

It seems like Goodall (the commissioner--not sure if I have the name right) is trying to crack down on the players with their off field problems. But, I'm sure if Stallworth was a more prominent player, he would get a lighter sentence from the NFL...

That sucks about Bernie. Wasn't he part owner of Cleveland's Arena Football team? That investment might have screwed him up too.

Then I totally agree he should be put away for a long long time and should never be allowed to play again.. Your right these guys need to learn they are not above the law...
Did you hear Bernie Kosar had to file bankruptcy today?? They said he has givin over $10,000,000 to the former players fund and now he's broke. It's a cryin same, I heard today that 78% of the retired have to file. What a damned shame..

Ok, so i looked it up. Stallworth was nearly double the legal limit to drive. "Police say Stallworth had a blood-alcohol level of .126 after the crash, well above Florida's .08 limit to drive."

And I hear what you guys are saying about the Stallworth thing...we had a friend in a similar situation - hit someone because they darted out in front of him and the man was killed. But like Josie said, my friend wasn't drinking. And I agree, accidents happen...and I don't know the blood alcohol level. But did you hear that Jim Brown says he was high as a kite smoking marijuana that night too? Any truth to that? I don't know. I just think that too often players just think they are invincible and i think that is a shame. maybe when i learn more facts i can speak more educated on the issue. Let me look it all up.

I understand what you're saying. I don't drink even at games but I know alot of people do and you're right they get behind the wheel of a car. They're lucky enough that nothing happens. I am not trying to minimize what happened but the victim did run out in front of him and we will never know if the outcome would have been different if Stallworth hadn't been drinking. A good friend of our family had that happen many years ago. An elderly gentlemen lost his sense of direction and walked out in front of Chuck{our friends name, too}and unfortunately the elderly gentleman was killed. Chuck did not get any kind of penalty what so ever but he hadn't been drinking before he drove. I'm pretty sure that I would not be as generous as Stallworth's victims family. They have made peace with him...I wish I could say I would be able to but I would be lying if I did.
