Hi Ladies,

hubby and I went for a drive today and ended up at the cemetery where our son Ryan is and hubby's father, grandfather and Uncle. When we left we went to another cemetery where my baby son Sean is buried along with our great granddaughter Madison. it was a day of reflection and paying love to those precious ones we lost.

It was sunny all day putting us in better spirits. My oldest daughter and her hubby came for a visit. Don't get me wrong, they stayed in their truck in our driveway and we stood on our front porch chatting with them for 15 minutes. Hubby and I decided to go and visit Hailie and my granddaughter and we stayed in our car while they talked to us from their front door.

It is one way of visiting each other without taking any risks.

I made a stew for sinner tonight and it simmered all day. I haven't made stew in years and when it was ready I put some dumplings in it. I have not made them in about 25 years.

We are keeping busy and I was actually surprised when I discovered it was Thursday already. Time has just gotten away from me and I don't have to know what day it is actually because we have no appointments. With our granddaughter no working and Hailie at home with her we have no obligations. I don't like it but we are doing our part to not be near anyone or compromise ourselves from getting the virus.

Judy I can't imagine having snow again. Our temps have gotten too warm for snow and the long range forecast is promising warm temps all of April. I have put the snow shovels away just today so hope I have not jinx myself.

WE had our windows open for a couple of hours today. There was a north wind blowing that made out temps feel colder but the fresh air in the house always feels good.

Hope everyone is staying healthy and coping.
Have a great evening emoticon

Howdy to all.
After walking Snickers I got into the raspberry patch and started cutting out dead brambles and trimming tops of active ones. I only got through less than 1/4 and had to quit. My arthritic thumb and already sore back couldn't handle any more. I must be getting old.............
Good exercise, though.

Cat, good for you for making the masks. Many hospitals and clinics are asking for them to be sewn and donated. We have had quite a change in weather, with a snow and ice storm predicted today through tomorrow. Just hoping the ice and wind doesn't cause power outages. I didn't sleep well last night, so I might be lazy today. Will try to do some youtube exercise of some sort before I get too relaxed!

Susan, I am so sorry for your loss. Just today we received a sympathy card from the vet with comments written by everyone at the clinic.
Today was cold and dreary all day so I spent time on face mask making. I tried my hand at a couple different styles and made prototypes of each.
I also tried a new dinner roll recipe which I plan on having for dinner.
Nothing else going on here.

Oh, Susan, so sorry about your cat. So hard to lose our pets! Cat, during my "open window" hours when I can eat, I do have snacks in between the 2 meals if I am hungry -- usually string cheese and fruit -- to tide me over. The hardest part is drinking black coffee in the morning before my fast is over, but I'm getting used to it.

Hi Ladies,

Judy I think I will try your 16:8 way of eating. That is a great weight loss and it doesn't sound to be too difficult to follow

yesterday was a very sad day for me.We have 3 rescue cats that we trapped 6 and a half years ago. The one I called Spooky and nickname is Lover Boy because he loves to cuddle all the time. When we returned from vacation we started to notice that he wasnt coming out for his cuddles as much but he was still eating and drinking. Over the past couple of weeks he has been isolating himself from his brother and sister and us. I decided to do some research and then gave him a physical assessment to discover that he indeed was very sick.

Yesterday I took him to the vet . I had to sit in the parking lot in my car while the vet tech came out and got him. Within 10 minutes the veterinarian came out and gave me the grave news. Spooky was very ill and was dying. His stomach was filled with fluid and it appeared that he had a condition called FIP. We had Spooky euthanized yesterday and the results came back from the test that he did have FIP. Now we have to monitor his siblings to make sure they don't have it. There is no preventative or cure for this lethal condition. Life expectancy is merely weeks once they acquire it.

I pray the 2 others will remain healthy.
The pets keep us very busy and this is a good thing. We have to keep as active as possible to overcome the fact that we are now confined to our own homes during this virus outbreak.
My heart breaks every day when we see the numbers going up and in the United States it seems to be far worse than her in Canada. AS i read statistics of other countries is is so disheartening. We will overcome this adversity however and my the grace and will of God we will prevail.

Stay healthy and stay safe everyone. emoticon

Judy, FANTASTIC, on the eating change results. You are really making a bad time work for you. There is no way I could only eat twice a day. I should eat 5 smaller meals rather than 3 so I didn't get so hungry between.
We did go to senior shopping this morning for a few things.
Got in a great walk with Snickers.
Now that lunch is over I am heading outside to start back up on the weeds where I left off the other day. It's going to start raining in a few hours and last for four days according to 'the' people.

Oh, Cat, I've been hungry for chili, but I have no beans in the cupboard to make it, and not going to go to the store to get some. We are trying to go as few times as possible - and only for "needs", not "wants". Yesterday was such a beautiful day, and my walk was very uplifting! I finally took some time to do some cleaning -- vacuuming, dusting, washed a couple smeared windows, mopped the kitchen floor, and also straightened a couple dresser drawers. Went to the drive-through car wash, which was the first time I'd driven my Jeep in weeks. Now it can sit in the garage clean! I've been doing 16:8 intermittent fasting for 21 days (basically, do my eating between the hours of 10 am and 6 pm, and for the remaining 18 hours have only water, black coffee, herbal tea). It's not as difficult as I'd thought. I seem to have more energy, my night-time binging has come to an end, and I've lost about 7 1/2 pounds in the 3 weeks. Not to mention it is helping conserve trips to the grocery store, since we only eat two meals a day. I haven't really changed what I eat or how much, just do all my eating during those 8 hours.

Hi all.
A busy, not active, day for me.
I made a big pot of chili for dinner and the freezer. Also some cole slaw and my weekly salad.
Some housecleaning and a short dog walk.
There's been rain off and on all day and there's a biting wind.
Hope everyone is hangin' in and enjoying their sequester.

I had heard that Joann's was making the mask kits for people to sew. That's great! Looking forward to a beautiful day with sunshine and temps in the upper 50s. A nice long walk is in the plans!

Susan, that's horrible. There have been zero incidents of bad behavior in our area. You might look into getting and carrying pepper spray while walking rural trails. Self awareness is always a must.

Hi Sue, glad you checked back in. I've been wondering about you. The reason they don't let the bags in the stores is most are disgustingly filthy as people never wash them.

I went to Joann's Fabrics today to pick up a bag of mask kits to sew. They had red X's and lines anywhere that people come in contact with clerks and other customers.

Judy, our area also has a fund drive going but for individuals that need help and there's a grass roots effort to get people to purchase gift cards from shops and restaurants. I see all sorts of goodness coming out during this crisis.

Susan, the robbery is scary! Yes, this situation is bringing out the worst in some, but the best in others. In our little town, the Chamber of Commerce sponsored a "radiothon" where people could call in and buy gift cards to the local small businesses of their choice, so they will have some money to help get them through, ad then you can use the gift certificate when things level out a bit. Also put an order blank in the local paper. They have raised $65,000 last I heard, with mail still coming in. This in our town of less than 2,000 people. This is but one example of the good and generosity people are showing all over the country. It looks like a beautiful, sunny day which will do wonders for peoples' dispositions!

Hi ladies!

That's interesting that some stores are not allowing bags to be brought in. Here in NY
we are still bringing our bags in. My grocery store has done a few smart things, in my opinion.
They have a plexiglass partition between the buyer and the cashier that you are told to stand in front of until you pay, and also there are black lines on the floor to indicate where you should stand and where the person behind you should stand. I really appreciate these little ways we might be more protective of ourselves.....

Wow, how scary that someone was robbed... yes, be safe.

Good morning ladies,

it is raining here this morning but they say sunshine will come out after noon hour and temps to reach around 17C or 63F which will feel so nice. We have some leaves to get up from our driveway which we have no idea where they came from since we have no trees at house.

Two years ago we purchased a red maple tree for our back yard however it has not done well and this year it doesn't look like any new buds have come on it. We will remove it and try again by purchasing the heartiest of maple trees that is a fast growing one. We have been in this house for almost 14 years now and never had shade in our back yard due to no trees. I am determined to have one survive this year so we can enjoy watching it grown and thrive.

Praying conditions start turning about with the virus so we can all go out and play together.
I won't be going out power walking for a bit now as yesterday on my walking route and just a couple of blocks from my home, in the late morning a woman was robbed at knife point.

I couldn't figure out why a police car was in my driveway facing the road for an hour yesterday and it was because they were looking for the suspect. I don't think they found him but I wont be taking any chances on getting hurt. Our neighborhood has always been very quiet and peaceful with good people but I guess this virus has brought some of the undesirables to the surface.

Sending everyone best wishes for a day filled with activity and happy moments. emoticon

Judy, we can't bring in bags now, either. I am getting a jump on the future. Our governor just signed a law saying no more plastic grocery bags and 8 cents for each paper bag going to 12 cent in 2022.
All I can say is that it's a good thing the stores didn't get rid of all their plastic bags yet since we can't bring our own in now.
I wanted to be able to have enough bags that I can not worry about having enough each trip and also to be able to throw them all in the laundry between uses.
I got into the yard today after walking Snickers. It has been good weather for weeding and trimming.

Hello Ladies,

I am beginning to forget what day it is lately. Was thinking it was Friday today. Don't know why I am a day behind but guess it doesn't really matter at the moment.

I went through all the photos the other day and worked on it until 3:30 in the morning until I was done. I felt manic for some reason. When I finally went to bed I couldn't fall asleep and was up at 8:30. So yesterday I started working on my mother's memorial presentation and that has me very busy scanning pictures and enhancing the ones that are old and out of focus. Using some of my graphics ability to add to them and "spiffy" them up.
That kept me busy until 2:30 this morning but I slept in until 11:00 am. When I woke up I jumped out of bed as if I had a fire to go to. I do not like sleeping half the day away even if I am confined to home.

Today is rainy and gloomy so I will play some upbeat music all day to help me with moving about and feeling upbeat myself. Nothing like good dance music to keep one moving .

As always, I hope you are all doing well, and coping with the lock down. Take care and emoticon

Cat, our local grocery store is not allowing people to bring in bags, but your project sounds great! If you are a sewer, they are asking people to sew protective masks for the clinics and hospitals. I got in a good walk outdoors yesterday. Today probably not -- rain is predicted. My little dog is enjoying being able to get back to walking after the winter!

Good to hear from everyone and that all are fine.
Today I pulled down some old t-shirts and made shopping bags from them. One has a self contained pocket, two have attached pockets, and one has no pocket. I had to do some research on the internet to get going but they are easy to make and I plan to make some others from material other than t-shirts.
Also got in a good walk with Snickers.
Beautiful day after the rain cleared.

Susan, you have quite the project ahead of you! It's a good way to stay occupied when we can't go anywhere! Hubby had to make a run to the grocery store yesterday,as we hadn't been in over 2 weeks. We should be fine now for the next 2 weeks as the governor has ordered us to stay at home. I haven't been anywhere for 2 weeks anyway. I try to make sure I get some exercise every day, and my Fitbit reminds me every hour to get up and move if I've been sitting too long.

Hi Ladies,
went into my attic today and got down all the boxes of pictures. There are thousands of them from 48 years and more.
I am sorting through them and categorizing them into piles of my husband and I, our kids, parents and siblings and then extras.
Going through all the old files and cards to see what we will keep or destroy jn the paper shredder.
Its amazing how much we accumulate over the years and the stuff we don't want to get rid of even though we have no use for it. We are trying to be practical and not leave all the "STUFF" for our kids to have to sort through after we are gone.

I will give each of our children their photos and report cards, school work etc. to keep for themselves and if they wish not to keep it, that is their own decision
This project will keep me busy for a few weeks while we wait out the virus. Once all that is done I'm sure to find more to do if need be. I am standing a lot but have to remind myself to move more as my back is beginning to hurt standing on one place.

I hope everyone is keeping themselves occupied so you don't get antsy or depressed. This is a time that depression can happen when we are confined to one place for a long time. I myself am fighting it especially with Friday coming.

Friday marks the 3 year anniversary of my son Ryan's passing. Time has not stood still but it seems that he was with us just 30 seconds ago. Looking at his pictures of when he was a baby and a little boy to a teenager and young man brings such heart warming memories.

Have a great day everyone and stay safe. emoticon

Hi all.
Getting laundry done before the rain starts as it's supposed continue for four days and we're on a septic.
Hope to get in a good walk before the rain also.
Nothing else going on here.
Glad everyone is making due in this time of angst.
I hope our newest member, Sue from Long Island, is not in the midst of the Covid zone and is doing well.

Another cold day so will have to push myself to exercise inside. Yesterday I got busy with other things and didn't get a workout in. Plan to do a 3-mile Walk Away the Pounds video and a little work with weights. Looking forward to more spring-like weather!!

Hi Ladies

felt a but more upbeat today with sunshine and warm dry temps. Went out for a 30 minutes walk distancing myself from other walkers out there.

Hardly any cars on the road but more people out getting fresh air which is good as long as we maintain a 6 foot distance from others.

Hope everyone is doing well during this challenging time.
Stay safe and emoticon

Hi all.
A beautiful day after a wet beginning.
Snickers and I got in a good, long walk this afternoon.
Not much else going on here. I did rework a few shelves in my pantry today that I couldn't figure out yesterday. Now I am done! I think.....
Here's a pic. I can't get the entire thing in since it's in a hallway but I got most of it.

not sure why this went sideways..............i can't fix.

I got a walk in yesterday. Today is rainy, so will have to do a video. Also need to keep up on the strength training, but that seems to take more discipline which I don't seem to have! Hubby and I have been doing 16:8 intermittent fasting the past several weeks, so eating 2 meals a day has cut down on our grocery needs. Also trying to clean up food in the freezer and cupboards before venturing to the store. One of our local doctors posted info on how to reduce risk when going to and returning from the store, which was very useful information that we need to hear! May need to attempt to trim my bangs today...

Hi gals.
A cool and windy day here with off and on showers.
We got up and out by 6:30 a.m. to get to the senior shopping time at Walmart. Most people were like us and wore neoprene gloves, and some wore masks. The only people in the store without white hair were the employees and everyone was keeping well separated.
Mid-morning I decided I needed to finally reorganize the pantry and spent a couple hours doing so. Now I can clearly see and get to most everything.
Chris petered out and is napping, not being used to the early hour.
I just spent awhile choosing and downloading audio books for my MP3 player and phone. I have to listen to a book while showering and while walking so run through them pretty fast.
Verna, who doesn't like their hair brushed? Good luck on the folds.
Judy, this is my first time making lemon jam and made sure it wasn't too sweet or too tart.

Snow flurries here today but yesterday was glorious with full sun and no wind for most of the day but the late in the day we started getting a few flurries and of course a low breeze. I spent an hour brushing Dreamer and she sure liked that. She wasn't really keen on me doing her huge belly but stood eating her oats for at least an hour. Her stable mate still hasn't had her foal so we are playing the waiting game. Dreamer isn't due for a month.

It is indeed quiet around here. 2 covid cases in our town so far but I'm sure there will be more seeing as the snow birds are flocking home now. I just pray they know the meaning of quarantine and take this pandemic seriously.

Take care of yourselves everyone and take every precaution as we weather these scary times.

It's a little dreary out, but think I'll try to get an outdoor walk in. Tuesday is the day I balance the chemical in the hot tub, so I'm working on that and running the dishwasher. Still need to get around to vacuuming and dusting! I would love lemon jam!

I could swear I posted yesterday but it's not there.
All's well here. Sticking close to home and minding my own business.
We used to take the senior driver discount courses but the cost of the class costs more than the discount given so we quit.
Got in a nice walk with Snickers today.
My lemon jam got a 'good' rating from Chris!
Making Navy bean soup with ham bone for dinner tonight. Sounded good for a cool day.

Hello Ladies,

it is rainy and dreary here today. It will be a challenge to make a little sunshine inside so I think I may face time my little Hailie and see how she is doing. With the time being confined to home and not going to work, my granddaughter is working hard to get Miss Hailie toilt trained. Seems like she is finally understanding the concept which is wonderful. We want to see her completely trained before summer arrives.

When she had a sleep over on the weekend she has a dry diaper in the morning so that is a good sign that she may be able to get right out of the diapers within the next couple of weeks.

I do hope everyone is doing well. Here's looking for numbers to start going down as opposed to growing. Praying for people to understand the importance of staying isolated for the time it takes to get rid of this virus.

Here is a sweet picture of Hailie sleeping with her kitty Milo.Makes one say "awhhhh"

Susan, I think the driving courses vary from state to state, but most all insurance companies give MN drivers a discount if they take the courses. The first is 8 hours, and after that is a 4-hour refresher course every 3 years. It's where I learned about roundabouts and other new types of highway configurations, as well as that hands are no longer to be at 10 and 2! Yes, things have changed. It even teaches exercises for keeping your neck flexible to be able to move it better when backing up, for instance. Yesterday was our first confirmed case of Corona in our small county. I believe we are in for a wild ride out here in the rural area.......

Blessings to all you lovely ladies,

the sun is out and that makes for a beautiful day.

Judy that is so good that you can still get your church service in the home through streaming.I am a bit concerned about my Mom's Celebration of Life we are having April 26th. WE may have to postpone it until everything blows over. My niece is supposed to be flying to Amsterdam to do a 4 month co-op as part of her university studies ( she is going to be an architect) however that too may have to wait.

One thing that I think about through what the world is facing, is that people will see that through Internet so much can be from home and then the use of Internet will take over the duties of schools, businesses, banking and even some medical diagnostics and more. Machines will take the place of humanly done jobs and we will have an even bigger problem to deal with.

In thinking about all that stuff, it becomes disheartening and I am trying not to dwell on it. I hope the world can just unite in friendship and co-operation, along with kindness and respect for others. I myself am trying to keep a positive outlook in order to maintain piece of mind.

Judy an online safe driver course is a great idea to get a discount on the insurance. I have not heard of that until now. It's a great way to keep sharp on driving skills. I know when my grandkids where getting their driver's licenses, they had practice tests on line. I was doing the tests as well and learned about some things that have changed since I got my license during the "stone age" LOL. I think it's good practice to keep up with the times and doing on line tests is a great plan of action.

Verna glad you and hubby are holding your own and I hear you about facebook. I got on my soap box there today and asked for everyone to stop the negative posting and just focus on the happy and good stuff. I want to smile when I go to facebook instead of seeing all the posts that are about what's happening. I don't even want to say the name because I have heard it too many times in the past weeks.

CAT I hope all is well at home. I'm sure you must be feeling somewhat on the lonely side since losing your precious feline.

Sue, it's so good that your daughter and son in law can work from home. Lets hope that they will be able to return to work as "normal" shortly. As for the stores, I'm sure they will be back to normal in a week or so. Already our shops have seniors coming in the first hour and then others afterwards. Only so many at a time and markers on the floor for distancing while waiting to pay for there good.

We WILL get through this everyone. .................hang in there!

Yesterday I signed hubby and I up to take the online Safe Driver 4-hour refresher course. Might as well get it done while we're staying at home! Ours expires in August, and we save 10 percent on our insurance, not to mention we do learn some new things about driving, etc. Today at noon my church is having Mass via Facebook stream. Who would have ever thought???? If this continues, I hope to be able to contribute via providing music, but besides logistics, there are music licensing issues in doing so that would have to be figured out. Hoping the weather warms up enough today that I can get in an outside walk!

Everything at a stand still here as well. I guess the whole country, continent, world is in the same situation. The snowbirds will be flocking back for at least the next two weeks and I have heard some are not self isolating ---- so what is new? There are always those that know better than the authorities. Then we have the hoarders . . . .

So far DH and I are doing well, no health issues and we are simply enjoying each others company and frequenting FaceBook for the silliness on there. Some of the stuff posted is pretty funny.

Prayers going out to each one of you that you are spared the covid disease.

Thanks, Susan. I had forgotten Rommie was sick. I hope he isn't in any pain. The vet told me that Buzz probably wasn't in any pain but that it is likely he felt yucky all the time, hence the throwing up and begging for fresh, cool water when he was awake. You never know about the little guys.
Judy, I sure hope you, DH, and daughters family don't come down with symptoms. I am sure you have good friends that will drop groceries at your door if you need anything.
Today I spent 3 hours in the kitchen making lemon jam from a bag of lemons I bought the other day. I am exhausted.
Also laundry and some bill tending.

The day we were in Fargo, the one case of Corona was confirmed there. It so happened it was the wife of a police officer, and that officer had been to the jail twice the previous week. My daughter-in-law is the deputy sheriff in charge of the jail. While she didn't have any direct contact with him, there was the possibility it could be present there. And since we stayed at my son's house, ate with them, etc., we decided we would self-isolate when we got home. And we have been doing that. Very, very remote chance that we are contagious, but would hate to be responsible for spreading it locally so are being overly cautious. Sure wish the weather would warm up so I could get more fresh air!! Supposed to have a couple warm days next week, but also rain on those days. Everyone do be careful out there!

Hi ladies,
It was a warm but very windy day. Hailie and I wrnt for awlk in the morning while my granddaughter did her banking. She didnt want to expose Hailie to peolle so brought hervhete. The people were lined up outside the bank 6 feet apart as they only let so many at a time come in.

It has turned colder now but luckily I was able to open the windows again for some fresh air. I habe been concentrating on organizing the smaller things in the house as well as washing floors today. The dogs keep getti g muddy when they go outside due to the wet lawn. It takes a great deal of patience to put them in the tube a few times a day. Having 4 dogs is getting harder during the winter and spriing months because of all the paw wiping. Bending and stretching doesnt come as easy these days even though I keep at it.

My late son,s dog Rommie is showing signs that the cancer is takingover. He is not eating as much and is sleeping more. At 16 he is still doing okay and not in any pain at least.

CAT I was so sorry to hear of your cat being put down. It had reached a good age just like Rommie. Glad to hear your dental work has gone well.

I AM SENDING BEST WISHES TO ALL FOR A GREAT WEEKEND.

Thanks Judy.
Took the dogs to the groomer this morning. Groomer won't let us stay with our dogs so I read on her porch while she groomed and lo and behold, she finished in 1/2 the time as when I sit and we chat.
Got Snickers out for a good walk.
My mouth is doing good. No pain and I am eating light and small bites and salt water gargling.
Like you, Judy, I think I should be doing some house and yard work but I don't have the motivation. Always, maybe tomorrow.
Hope everyone is well.

Oh, Cat, so sorry about your cat. I think I'll be reading a lot of books and watching a lot of movies, at least until the weather warms up. I keep thinking I should do a little deep cleaning in the house, but that has happened yet.......

Sue, we don't need to get anything but a few non-essentials that I have become lax in keeping, and some fresh fruit, vegs, meats as long as the stores have them.
We are preppers and have enough canned and dried food, emergency aid, water filters, water, etc all stored for the 'big one'. We are in EQ country and must be prepared.
A millenial told me the other day that there generation has had it made and don't know hardship and that she hopes it awakens her peers to reality.
Got my tooth pulled this morning and all seems well so far. I had to take some time to recover from the anesthesia. Can't eat anything, though. Made a smoothie from a frozen banana, greek yogurt, a touch of coffee (you know me) and frozen blueberries. Very good. Had some later with jello in it.
Taking Buzz the 17 yo cat to vet this afternoon to say good bye.

Sue, yes, so thankful my daughter and son-in-law can work from home and/or have plenty of sick leave. On the worrisome side, my son is a full-time First Responder/Fireman and daughter-in-law is a deputy sheriff who oversees the jail. They are at risk. Will push myself to not become a couch potato and get some workouts in every day!

yep, all of our gyms are closed, schools, restaurants only doing take out.
I will try to pick up some groceries, but otherwise I will stay close to home. I sure hope that the shelves have been re-stocked, that has been very concerning to me. Not just toilet paper but almost all of the meats and canned goods. I hope that somehow, the panic to hoard is winding down and we can all "share nicely" LOL.

I am so very grateful that my daughter and son in law both have jobs that they can do via computer and they get to stay home, together and safe.

aww Susan... I know you were so looking forward to your trip. Sorry it was canceled but it sure makes sense.

Dentists in NY are being told to only work on emergencies. We have closed the office for the time being. It is scary not having the income yet also still having to pay rent, etc etc, but I can only hope that the self isolation does help and in the weeks to come we can get back to real life.
As I write that I certainly have my doubts...but we all have to stay strong and optimistic.

Returned from Fargo today with the feeling we should not have made the trip, but I made a deal with a college kid to purchase his saxophone and felt I needed to honor it and that a day with my kids and grandkids would be safe if we went nowhere else. Probably should not have risked that but due to some circumstances feel it best that we will stay homebound for 2 weeks just in case. Yes, it is like a sci-fi movie that we are a part of. Just doesn't seem real. Gyms are closed in MN, so will have to push myself to exercise at home or walk outside if weather permits (which doesn't sound promising for at least the next several days). Trying to look for positive things....

Susan, I'm sorry your trip was cancelled but it's probably best. You might even enjoy it more later, not having just returned from a nice vacation.
Today I met with oral surgeon and scheduled for my molar extraction tomorrow morning.
Then I went to four different stores for various things. It was all early in the morning and the stores were not too busy. I was home by 10:30.
I was going to plant some seeds today but got sidelined. Perhaps Friday.

Hi Ladies,

well everything here in our region is just about shut down. Only pharmacies and grocery stores remain open with limitations on how many are in the shops at one time while restaurants, bars, day care centers, schools etc are closed for an undetermined time with only take out available..

Today have put in to reschedule my daughter's and my trip to Punta Cana next Friday as our Premier and Prime Minister have requested that no unnecessary air travel be taken.
Not sure when we can reschedule but Air Transat will be honoring our trip at a later time or giving us a credit to go elsewhere.

It seems as if we are watching a sci fi movie but we are in it. Hubby and I are still self isolating until the end of the week after returning from Cuba. We have no symptoms and feel we are not at risk.

This all seems surreal and I do hope it will disappear as the spring approaches.
I did go out for a short walk this afternoon but the wind made it colder than I realized and was under dressed. The walk only lasted 10 minutes but I have been busy indoors. Yesterday I opened the windows for an hour taking turns with each room so I could shut the door to the room so the house wouldn't get too cold. The fresh air is helpful in killing germs

I do hope everyone is keeping active and safe and since we are pretty well keeping to ourselves for the next few to several weeks, perhaps we can find new hobbies or work on old ones and take the time to do our spring cleaning from top to bottom. Hubby is painting my computer room tomorrow (just one wall repainting) to cover up the repair job from some screws we took out with a shelf. We just have to stay busy in order to get through this rough time.

I'm wanting to redecorate my living room in a modern style so am doing lots of browsing on the Internet for ideas. Once I know how I want things to look, I will place a few orders and go to it.

Stay safe everyone and healthy.

Yes, everyone is distancing.
I didn't get my tooth drilled yesterday, the dds talked me out of it. I chickened out and will have the oral surgeon pull it when he puts me under. That appt will be another few weeks out.
Today the contractor is here with the jack hammer cutting up/out our back concrete stoop and stairs. Loud! And the dogs are not pleased. Oh well.
Hope Susan and Verna and Sue are doing well.

Oh, no, not bowling! LOL! Yes, everything is pretty much at a standstill here in MN. We are doing what we can to "social distance", but in reality we can't avoid all possibilities of infection. Will try to get outside for a little walk today -- need some fresh air! And snow is on the way, so today is the day to do it.

Well, now it's gone too dang far. Bowling alley is closed!!!!! What am I going to do?
This morning I had a follow up appt with dr after gut test. Nothing major and perhaps something that is in another specialty area. I am not going to dwell on it and just keep a diary of pain and discomfort.
This afternoon I have a dds appt for a cracked molar to be drilled out. Fun day, eh?
Everyone get outside and enjoy some of this sunny weather.
I just got back from a nice dog walk.

Yes, schools closed here and also in Fargo where my grandkids are. I am concerned for the young people who can't go to work due to no child care. My activities for the week have all been cancelled. Would love to get outside for a walk, but it's quite damp and drizzly.

Hi gals. I almost forgot to post.
My phone carrier did a number on me today and I spent 3 hours trying to get the problem fixed. UGH.
Chris' phone died and I had to switch it to my old phone so he would have service (not that he ever uses it).
Got in a short dog walk mid day. Still cold here with a biting breeze.
Still no infections in our little county. Another good reason to live off the beaten path.
Yet, the governor has closed all the states schools and mandated no gatherings over 50 people. Right!
Well, take care and stay well.

Happy birthday to your daughter, and I do hear what you're saying! My daughter turned 34 on Valentine's Day and I walked around thinking... "what? Aren't I still 34 myself?" LOL. Time sure does fly.

I hope that I am a good fit for your group. I was part of the other maintainers group and I enjoyed being there a lot but the group got too big for me. I didn't feel I had the time or energy to give everyone the feedback they deserved.

Good afternoon Ladies,

today is my older daughter';s 45th birthday and I can'r wrap my head around the fact that I have a child that old. My number 4 grandchild just celebrated her 20th birthday yesterday. She was my youngest until we got the big surprise of Miss Avery who will be turning 2 in September. The years just seem to fly by. Miss Hailie our great grandchild will be three this year and head to school next year which doesn't seem possible.
Why does time seem to go by so quickly at this age?

I had a great sleep after my long day of moving furniture up and down the stairs and today I feel just wonderful. Sometimes when I wake up with no pain I think I must be dead LOL. Today is a good day for sure.

Warrior Sue , it is so nice to have you join our team. We may be a small bunch who actually communicates, but we are a close bunch. The ladies here have been very supportive and caring and I know you will enjoy your time being a team member.

Well the daughter and my SOL should be here shortly for dinner so I will go but first want to wish everyone a great day and an emoticon week ahead. emoticon

16000 steps, wow, that is so impressive!!

Sorry about your arthritis. I have recently been diagnosed with RA and though the symptoms and underlying reasons are different, I'm betting the pain is still the same. My hands have been feeling so strained and swollen these past four days.

I agree with you about the panic that has been induced. I imagine it will affect my husband's dental office in a big way because no one wants to travel, or "take a chance". My niece who works as a cook has been reduced in salary because the restaurant is so slow. But I understand financial suffering is not the only suffering... of course I get that. I hope we do not start villanizing (is that a word? LOL) people just for wanting to live a normal life, as this health scare goes through its course. And of course, I pray for all of those who have it, and for those who have died and the sadness of their families. It really is a tragedy.

It's been nice weather here in NY, I have been indoors mostly but have the windows open for some lovely fresh air. I have been doing a LOT of cooking, I am on the Mediterranean Diet. I also caught up on everything I had on my DVD, lol, like the finale of Project Runway.
Anyone happen to watch it?

Have a good Sunday! (I hope today really is Sunday, all of my days are melding into one another!)

Hello Ladies,

it's been one busy day for me today. Hubby and I were moving one room upstairs and one room downstairs. I never left the house but have put on 16,000 steps already. My back is feeling it as well as my right hip that seems to be full of arthritis.

This silly panic over the Covid 19 virus has me so down in the dumps. People are acting like it's the end of the world. There is no milk, no toilet paper or paper products in the stores, no bread and all the shelves are being depleted as if the world is coming to an end. The panic is senseless as it is only the vulnerable who is susceptible to it being a serious condition. People are acting like they have to go into hibernation for months.

The truth of the matter is that it is not the lethality of the virus but to its transmissibility. If people are vigilant in hand washing and staying home when they are ill, the transmission of the virus can not spread. With 80% of cases being mild with a full recovery people need to stop the panic and focus on the true facts.

The virus can be effectively inactivated from surfaces with a solution of ethanol (62-71% alcohol), hydrogen peroxide (0.5% hydrogen peroxide) or sodium hypochlorite (0.1% bleach), in just one minute. Frequent hand washing with soap and water is the most effective way to avoid contagion.

I do hope everyone here is doing well and not worrying so much as to be stressed out. The biggest problem is the ones who are panicking and emptying all the grocery shelves where others can't get any of the normal household products for themselves due to overloading form those who are panicked.

I still plan on flying to Punta Cana in 2 weeks for my vacation with my daughter and the only thing that will stop me is if the airlines stop flying or the country disallows for tourists to enter.

Greetings gals.
A VERY slow day for me.
It won't get out of the 30's and there is a biting breeze.
We got out early and made a run to Walmart to pickup an online purchase for pick up at the store. Sweet.
Then to get our corned beef from the local butcher shop.
I have been reading up on estate planning. We went to that seminar a few weeks ago and the (elder law) attorney has a book that goes along with his two hour seminar. Very good reading. I have various colored stickies all over the pages.
Now we need to make some decisions and get an appt to visit with him.

Cat, I had trouble pairing my Fitbit (Inspire HR) with my new Samsung A50 also. It came unpaired once and I had to redo it, but now it seems to be working and I'm getting my notifications. Yes, so many of my planned activities have been cancelled. Our plan is to continue to live our lives as much as possible but use common sense and caution, and do what we can to have a healthy immune system (exercise, nutrition, Vitamin D and C). I'll try to avoid crowds also, as even though I'm healthy, I would not want to be a carrier. If we get quarantined and absolutely need something, our grocery store and drug stores will deliver. Only thing we plan to stock up on is coffee!! LOL!

Hi all.
Yes, the crowd anxiety disease is running rampant.
We have a bidet seat on our commode so use little tp. Our Costco hasn't had any in stock for over a week after a made rush on it.
We are preppers in general so have stocks of everything so we can be independent for at least six months. (We are in EQ territory.)
Sue, glad you joined us. Where in NY do you live?
Today is rain so no walk. Snickers isn't happy.
My Fitbit is giving me fits. It won't pair with my phone and now it's unpaired from my laptop. UGH. Love/hate relationship going on.

Hi Ladies,

this is insanity. One of our local grocery shops has raised the price of toilet paper to 30 dollars for a 12 pack. It's insaner! I refuse to pay that price and as I have said all along, I have a large stack of old rags that can be washed and reused if we have to.
In the old days of desperate measures people used leaves, phone book and newspaper. Reusable rags would be a lot softer if they need to be used.

One problem is diapers are becoming hard to get now and Hailie and Avery are still in diapers.
Unless all flights get cancelled, my daughter and I are still going to Punta Cana in 2 weeks. So far there is only one case of the virus there. At a large mall yesterday where I was, all the cashiers are using gloves which may be a good idea since money changing hands could carry the virus. I m not going to panic about it as I am healthy as are my family members.

Its gotten to a point that this virus all we hear about on the radio, in social media, everywhere.(even here LOL) I hope the hype comes to an end soon as well as the virus.
Stay safe everyone,Hand washing and refraining from large crowds is the best way to avoid contracting this thing .

Day care will be most difficult for some parents as they are closing all schools here in Ontario during the march break that starts next week and for the 2 weeks following the March break. So far it has been 2 weeks since I left for our vacation in Varadero and next Saturday will mark 2 weeks from returning. We have had not symptoms of having any sort of flu so I am sure we are fine.

Going to start my housework now a then play games with Hailie

Boy, all the cancellations and precautions for Corona is really causing havoc. My daughter-in-law is a Lt. with the Sheriff's Department in Fargo and works at the jail, which is a terrible place for illnesses! It is possible if it hits she may be quarantined, which means my son, a firefighter who works 24-hour shifts, would have to figure out daycare so he can continue to work. Really will cause problems for the young people with schools and daycares closing. Nothing we can do though but try to figure things out. I am going to the gym today, but will be very careful about sanitizing! Take care everyone! Hopefully cancelling things for a couple weeks will slow it down and let it die out so we can get back to "normal".

People are going nuts here in NY too. I went shopping after work.... the place was a ZOO.
Now not only are the paper towels, toilet paper, napkins, etc gone, but everyone is hoarding food. The butcher of the supermarket came out with a trolley of chopped meat and before he was even able to re-load a shelf, everyone took them. There is no spaghetti, beans.... it's insanity! It also makes ME worried because I feed into everyone else's concern.

Judy I sure hope Covid 19 stays away so you can start giving your Tai Chi lessons and thus be able to remember all that you learned but good for you for practising on your own. We have several yoga studios in town but no Tai Chi maybe I can find a place that is willing to train me too!!!

Susan glad to hear you are back, that your mom's house sold in record time and that you are now planning a trip with your daughter. Enjoy every vacation you can. Hope your DH's snoring isn't leading to something more serious.

Same wishes for you Cat, hope the outcome of all those biopsies is in your favour.

Well, I'm glad to hear I'm not the only lone suffering from tiredness. DH's high potassium has me on my toes looking for foods he can eat. His last blood test shows an increase so that's just another concern to deal with.

We are supposed to have a blizzard this weekend, starting with tomorrow. Great, just in time for Bro In laws Celebration of Life. Still haven't figured out why it was delayed for such a long time since his passing, two weeks ago. All I can really say is Thank Goodness I'm an outsider looking in and not an Executor or one of his kids because this one is going to be a rodeo. Three kids and they didn't get along before ....... I shall just Hide and Watch which is my favourite saying in situations like this.

Soooooo is everyone in your neighbourhood stocking up on toilet paper. People have gone absolutely nuts around here buying up carts of it and paper towel!!!! I've heard that Costco has put on a limit of ONE. Odd what will tip people over the edge LOL

I'm tired today and was thinking about a nap but will plant some flower seeds. Put tomato seeds into those jiffy pods yesterday. They are the ideal thing. I drop them into small pots with soil to hopefully easily sustain them until bedding out time. That's one thing that brings me joy, planting seeds and watching it grow into a plant to either beautify my surroundings or provide food for me and family/friends. On that note I'm heading into the kitchen to get those pods into them thar pots LOL

Found out we are delaying the start of the Tai Chi classes because it is to be held in the meeting room of the Assisted Living facility and they are already banning visitors to the nursing home part due to a lot of influenza. It will be hard to remember everything by tine we are able to start classes, so I'll have to practice on my own. It's a rainy morning so will have to get my cardio done inside.

CAT, good to hear that everything looks okay so far and hopefully everything will show up in your favor. Dare I say it my just be "old age" as this is something that I have had to face in the past 2 years.

I hate the fact that I don't have the same stamina that I had 2 years ago. Of course injuries haven't helped bu the fatigue I feel more often is definitely a sign of slowing down. How does one handle that when I have hyperactivity.

Perhaps I should tke lessons from Judy and take on Tai Chi as it will certainly help my balance and maybe teach me how to slow down.

Hope you wonderful ladies are having a great day. emoticon

Good afternoon ladies,

its a dull day here after the sunshine yesterday but still warm enough for this time of year. We babysat Hailie today and our son over with is wife and baby Avery. It was son's 42nd birthday yesterday. Time has flown by since he was born at a whopping 10 pounds 2 ounces. He is a 6 foot 3 inch bean pole that has a problem gaining weight. Has a 32 inch waist (I would love that for myself)

Avery is walking now and in a week she is now running. She is so adorable and her and Hailie have a blast playing together.

No exercise except running after Hailie and up ad down the stairs to do laundry. I am tired today but will have my mojo back by tomorrow. Had a difficult time with sleeping last night which isn't anything new for this old girl.

I am sending along best wishes to everyone for a great day and evening. Tomorrow the week is half over already and time marches on so quickly these days.

Today is my "quiet" day. Will do the hot tub maintenance, run a couple errands, practice my saxophone, then a Cancer Support Group meeting tonight. Will also have to get in some cardio since it's too cold to walk outside, and a few minutes of practicing my Tai Ji Quan. We plan to start the classes the third week of April and will be 3 days a week for 8 weeks. We'll take the summer off and then start up classes again in the Fall. Best get off my chair now!

Today I had to pick up a prescription for my Sheltie. $72.!!!!! But it's for 3 months. An anti-inflammatory for his little leg joint.
Chris is having trouble walking today but refuses to call the doctor.
Everyone here is freaking out about this Coronavirus. We are predominately retirement community with lots of elderly folk so I understand. What I don't understand is the panic and buying of extra products they never use. No toilet paper, no wipes, no hand sanitizer, etc.
We don't have any infected people here now but there is fear it's coming our way shortly.
Tomorrow I am going to the hospital for that endoscope in the day surgery area. Hopefully I won't be subjected to any of the crazy!

Cat, I totally understand what you mean about drama involved in moving things into/out of the house! I get so nervous I just can't be around it! Susan, welcome back! Yes, the Tai Chi program we will be teaching is evidence based and proven to work for improved balance and fall prevention. We will begin classes the third week of April.

Good morning ladies,

we got back yesterday at 3:30 and were greeted by 4 very happy pooches who missed us. Hailie was at her dads so I called my granddaughter and asked if she would bring her here afterwards and let her stay for the night. We were exhausted but we missed Hailie so much we just had to see her. She was so excited when she got here and we got lots of kisses and cuddles.

My mom's house went on the market Thursday and sold that night to the first people who saw it. We got full asking price with a May 1st closing so will be happy when that day comes and we can the begin to relax. Now we just have to get her taxes done and we should be finished everything.

The week went by fast but the weather was hot and sunny and gave us the respite and relaxation that we both needed. So many laughs and talking about the past as well as the present. My one sister in law who surprised us by coming is the best party maker. She makes everything so fun.

Have not stepped on the scale but I'm not worried as I never go on vacation to all inclusive to eat or drink. My main drink of choice was cappuccino (non alcohol) and water.

So in another 19 days I am back to the Caribbean to Punta Cana (Dominica Republic) for a week with my daughter who took care of our home and pets. Will take it easy on any further vacations this year but I do love to travel so maybe the year will bring something else that is new and exciting.

Came back to a letter from the breast screening foundation and got a clean bill of health for that. Hubby has an echo cardiogram on Tuesday and I do hope all goes well there. His snoring has gotten out of hand again and last time it was like that it was due to A Fib and he needed to have cardio version done where they shock the heart to back to normal rhythm. Hopefully he is still free of that condition and it's just a snoring problem.

I have woken to sunshine today and it is going to reach 48F today. Tomorrow will reach in the mid 50's F so spring has sprung in Southern Ontario here. I hope no more snow this year.

Judy you sound like a busy lady but that's a good thing at our age to keep busy and stay healthy. The Tai Chi classes are something I could benefit from to maintain my balance

Well I better get moving, I'm back to regular living for the next 19 days and will try and get everything done that I usually do at this time of year.

Have a great day ladies and I hope you have sunshine. emoticon
