i am in OA so my plan is to eat 3 healthy meals a day and no snacks.

How about a "Sliding without 10 pounds to a New Year and a New Me"? Then even though it is more than 8 weeks we all can work towards New Year and New Us goal of 10 pounds even though it includes 3 Holidays or more for some of us?

Maybe we can share how we plan to control eating or recipes for the holidays?

I think it would be good to do another as even if we don't do 10 pounds we will be more aware of our choices and maybe maintain even under holidays temptation. I am up for it as even 1 pound off in that time is one less to cart around!.

A ten pound goal is too big for me right now as I will be doing a big trip for ten days in November, including five days in a hotel where all the food is included. I'll be doing good to maintain. I'll catch you all in another challenge at another time.

So, today would be my last weigh-in for the month of October, and while I did NOT lose 10 pounds in this month I have lost 9.4 oz since I restarted on Spark 7 weeks ago, and I will gladly take that and know I am on the right path. I want my journey to be slow and steady to prevent medication problems. So I think even a pound kept off keeps me moving forward, so no crying or moaning just got to get a stepping up! And the good advise and encouragement I give to all of you is meant for me as well, so I will just keep on!

And if there are no more challenges from any of my groups my own challenge to myself is another 9.4 or 10 pounds off by New Year's Eve! I want to see nothing bigger on that scale on December 30th than 228.0! Baby stepping my way to health and less of me, but more of me in the good ways!

I am 6 lbs 3 oz from my goal I wanted for the middle of November .... very small loss this week ... hope to make it up next weigh in ...

I think we are all seeing an uphill battle now due to weather changes and our bodies are trying to store up for hibernation. Everyone agree with that? I am sticking to it!

But "giving up is simply not an option" so I will push on and so can all of us. Together we have strength of support in numbers and each moment can be a new beginning or start of something new.

I am on track again yesterday and today so I guess a day off didn't do too much damage and cheated and weighed myself mid-week with no gain at same place as Monday's weigh-in.

So remember , backslides are human and we can do this by putting one foot in front of the other, a side step doesn't define us or mean that we quit!

And why doesn't spell check understand what I am trying to say and correct silly mistakes I make. LOL even a computer isn't perfect all the time!

yep as I figured I did blow out calorie allocation yesterday, but will be extremely careful this week as want to continue to add fat to the pile not me! Today is much better and have meals and snacks planned and still under limit on low end so it will be a good day!

Everyone remember, "Giving up is not an option" and we will continue our fight against staying obese by being real with ourselves, back slides are allowed, because we know ho to get back on track! emoticon

So Did do a good week last week overall some days better than others and scale shows my progress, inches are again crazy 1.5 inch lost one spot and .5 inch gain on 2 others, but being optimistic I still lost .5 inch in general. SO life is good. Today will be a test as family plans are to visit a smorgasbord, need extra dose of will power!

Actually, my doctor tweaked my blood pressure medicines so I lost water weight but ..... it's weight gone and I'm feeling better!

Congrats to all who lost this week! I will let you know Monday afternoon how I did, but think at least a little to add to fat hill.
Today will be high end of allocation but I will balance out tomorrow better. Today was pizza day for grand sons and as I was late getting lunch, didn't have time to improvise. Tomorrow's food will be better spread out!

Everyone have a great weekend and keep making positive choices more than negative ones and we will be ok!

Yep NANA I am in Fall Heaven with my butternut, acorn, spaghetti squashes and eggplant .... Aldi's have had butternut and acorn for 59 cents apiece and I've stocked up ... glad you can keep them for a while as they produce a lot of food for us to eat.

Had another LOSS -- gonna hop over and add it to the fat hill.

Another good eats day! Yesterday and today is planned all out to be almost right on the dot for minimum calories! Only got to go to Walmart for food and not much choice of fresh I wanted so got me a lot of protein cheap and frozen veggies as well as beans!

I am confident there will be a lose this week, and even got me some new sneakers to start a small walking session for as long as the legs will hold up.

Dancin wish my neighbors would bring me eggplant I love it. Bought some at a little stand on the road, going to make me some pizza with fresh maters and a little cheese! YUMMY!

Dancincajun1, I do think that their is a lot going on and as I am feeling better the small gain is not an issue, the addition to waist bother me more than the weight. I always worry about belly fat and heart problems, and yeah I am a senior so always a worry. I am taking some suggestions from some of my friends and relatives who are on this journey with me, adding more fiber, more water, staying further away from refined carbs, etc. A slight weight gain could mean more muscle( gosh that would be nice!)

So I am believing in myself to continue, Keep on Keeping it real, and as I believe "Giving up is simply not an option" so I am on the road to healthier and better me!

NANA you are still at a loss and losing inches .... extra exercise can build those muscles so always allow for that ....

We're all not as young as we once were ... Mom always said it was harder the older she got ... you know what ?? She was RIGHT !! LOL

Ok this is week 4, a crazy week, not sure what my old body is doing but it is what it is. Added inch to my waist but lost 2 off my hips. and small weight gain. IDK

Starting week 3 of the new me! Doing good holding to the marks if I could do more than chase the boys would probably show a much better weight lose but I am not going to get discouraged and give up as our new motto in my home town is "Giving up is not an Option!" Will post weight later weigh in at 1 PM.

you gals get LOTS of exercise running after toddlers .... that is a FACT !!

staying pretty much in line with my goals .... however, am the same since last weigh in on Thursday ... sooooo got to get busy !! DH is working on the living room so my treadmill is surrounded by furniture .... halted my inside walking for a couple of days now ...

I would say that is plenty of exercise.....sometimes I have to run after a 2 year old.....I sure can get winded quicker that she does........lol

Still staying on track with eating and drinking most of water maybe soon I can get more exercise. Although most days I am running after an animal or a kid so it seems like a day of exercise.LOL

The challenge is to do as much as you can and however you can...some do more than others some are unable to do this for various reasons...

I am doing good on the eating and tracking and as I am unable to do exercise of any kind except normal stuff, but am trying to move more inside the house, climb stairs once a day, etc. just move body more.
I weigh on Mondays at 1 but do cheat and weigh a couple of times a week, to not record but just check progress, I am doing good and losing. It is important to also have scale in as close as possible to same place and clothes near same weight to be as accurate as you can I was told, so am doing that also.

CHOC ... you are doing fine as you are not gaining ponds .... that is great ... I have had a year of turtles and losing the same 5 pounds .... finally on a 4 month losing streak ... slow but sure !!

this is just a reminder about the challenge:

It's 9 weeks from Sept 1 to Oct, 27....are you up to going for a 10 pound loss?

Simple rules:

1..get your starting weight during the week of August 25 to August 31

2..weigh yourself on the same day and as close to the same time as possible each week or how ever often your weigh yourself

3..drink your water each day

4..at least 20 minutes of exercise 5 of 7 days..
