Plain Cookie Recipe

l/2 c butter
l c sugar
l egg
4 tbs milk, water, orange juice or whatever
l/2ts maple extract
2 c flour
2 ts baking power
l pk of dry pudding or vanilla or anykind, Jello one instant.
l pk of cho chip

Bake 375 for 8 min. Let stand for 5 min and put in freezer and then yum. You can eat them even not in freezer but they harden more in freezer and I like them better that way. They taste like cake cookies. My friends love them and I have sent the receipe to many.

Barbara Bush Clam Chowder

3 slices bacon.
1/2 cup minced onion.
1 7.8 oz can minced clams.
1 Cup cubed potatoes.
1 can cream of celery soup.
1 1/2 cups milk.
Dash of pepper.

Cook bacon until crisp. Remove & break into 1 inch pieces. Brown onion in bacon fat. Add clam liquid & potatoes. Cover & cook over low heat until potatoes are done (15 minutes). Blend in bacon pieces, minced clams & other ingredients. Heat, but do not boil. Bacon may be used for garnish.

Serves 4

SUPER QUICK FRUIT SALAD

1/2 cup cool whip light
2 TBS ff mayo
1 medium orange or 2 cuties
1 small apple, diced
1/2 cup chopped celery
1/4 cup raisins
2 TBS pecans

In medium bowl combine cool whip & mayo. Add oranges,apple, raisin,celery & pecans. Toss gently. Cover & refrigerate.

Serves 4 ( 1/2 cup)
112 calories.
4 Fat, 1 Protein, 2Fiber, 73 sodium

CHEESY TWICE BAKED POTATO CASSEROLE ...Jan 07 Healthy Exchange newsletter
Use light product for calorie info

6 unpeeled potatoes,baked & cooled.
1/4 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp pepper, 1/4 cup bacon bits,
2 cups lite sour cream,1 cup mozzarella cheese,
1 cup cheddar cheese
2 green onions, chopped

Preheat oven 350. Spray 9x 13 baking dish. Cut potatoes into 1 inch cubes & place half into dish. Combine salt,pepper & bacon. Sprinkle half over potatoes. Top with half sour cream & cheese. Repeat. Bake for 20 minutes or until cheese melts.

Serves 8
230 calories, 6 fat,13 protein, 31Ca, 365 Sodium, 2 Fiber

I loved it. 5***** You can freeze it!

BURGER HEAVEN CASSEROLE (Makes 6... 1 cup servings)

16 oz. ground turkey or beef
2 cups diced potatoes
1 1/2 cups sliced carrots ( I used half can carrots)
1 cup chopped celery
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 cup frozen peas ( thawed)
1 cup frozen corn (thawed)
1 can Healthy Request Tomato soup
1/2 cup water
1 tsp dried parsley flakes

Brown meat.. Put all ingredients into a sprayed crock pot. Cook on low for 6-8 hours. I did not have corn so I added 1 small can of mushrooms

243 calories
7 fat
17 protein
4 fiber
28 carbs
33 calcium
333 sodium

WALDORF SALAD

2 cups cored & diced apples
1 tsp lemon juice
1/4 cup raisins
3/4 cup chopped celery

I have been looking for a good sweet potato casserole recipe. I usually order it from QVC & my great grandkids love it but it is rather expensive. I made one yesterday that is pretty similar so will see what the grandkids think about it.

My soup has lentils and chickpeas,Ozro pasta which is small and white chicken.

With beef stew, I fry steak and cut up and add the veggie to it. Takes l0 min.

Skinny Tortilla Soup

1 can fat free refried beans
1 can black beans(drained)
1 14 oz can reduced sodium chicken broth
1 1/2 cup frozen corn
3/4 cup chunky salsa
3/4 cup cooked chicken breast
1/2 cup water


2 cups reduced fat shredded cheese
28 baked tortilla chips

In a large saucepan, combine the first 7 ingredients. Bring to a boil, cover & simmer for 10 minutes. Add 1 cup of cheese & stir until melted.

Put some cheese & chips in bowl & add 1 cup of soup.

7 one cup servings

290 calories, 7 fat, 4 sat fat, 30 cholesterol, 987 sodium, 36 carbs, 9 fiber, 23 protein

I make my chicken palm this way. I put it in powder potato flakes, egg, and Italian breadcrumbs and fry in olive oil, then lay in a pan with one layer of chicken, a layer of sauce and layer of Palm cheese and bake 350 for half hour. If You make it before you freeze your chicken you can freeze it.

Chicken Perdue cuts, broccoli, pasta which can be omitted, and grated cheese. You can add tomato sauce or some gravy but lots of times I eat it without.

Karen, You could have your Healthy April Crisp for breakfast, that would make a change.

Will be interested in that "Healthy Apple Chrisp Recipe "if you feel like putting it on here.

Camey you must be making the cho Marshmellows candy for the kids again this year. Most of us want to loose weight so I am glad you didn't share the recipe. I love gravy, but never put it on my food. Lots of extra calories that none of us need...unless we have reached goal. I know you are a good cook, do you have any low calorie dishes you can share.

Pasta, broccoli, chicken Perdue cuts, and chickpeas. You can use a jar of gravy or tomato sauce over it or plain. The other day it was broccoli, chickpeas, lentils, chicken cuts, and gravy. Helps to get away from cholesterol foods now and then.

Tonight I am cooking a cookie sheet wfull of veggies. drizzled with OO and herbs , Tarriagon and basil, salt and pepper. make sure all tithe veggies are about the same size. be sure that OO is distributed lightly over all the veggies. I take a plastic bag over my hand and masarge the veggies with the OO roasts in oven 375 until cooked tender but not over cooked.

The cooked veggies will be fixed for a quick breakfast. Toast a Pita pocket bread cut in half. Heat the veggie and fill the two halves of the Pita. You can scramble an egg folding it in with the veggies for more protein.

Enjoy your dinner and your breakfast. Dot

Irene, did you try chicken with bread crumbs,grated cheese, mushrooms, broccoli and veg all and BBQ sauce. I bake all in one pan at 350 for 30 min. Sometimes, I use salad dressing instead of BBQ sauce.

l0 min beef stew. Cook steak in pan and veg in another. Combine together when done and add gravy to it, beef because of the steak.

Stir fry with Chicken Predue. Cook veggies you want and add Chicken Predue white meat cuts and turkey gravy in a jar.
