I thought it would be cool to see what everyone is going to be doing this spring with their horses. Are you just having a calm summer where nothing is really planned? Maybe you are planning to be serious in the arena and racking up some points on your horse. This year we gelded our stallion and he really was never put under saddle. I was able to find a young woman going through a equestrian program who wanted to train a problem horse for her classes. She in return she gets to ride other horses we have since she does not own any. This actually has worked out great at my barn. In a matter of 2 weeks she had cowboy with a saddle and though he is still learning the gaits he is on his way. She in return gets her pic of the stable owners horses to ride anytime she wants. Cowboy has now had about 30 rides in 2 months(she comes here on weekends and 2 days during the week.) Cowboy is safe enough for me on the trail though he is still green but we are on our way. My plan is to ride cowboy in a simple horsemanship show at the end of may, my trainer is going to use him in august for a cowboy competition. He has great cowsense, but we will be practicing on obstacles til then.
We also have a foal due any day now, so very busy summer.
