As we draw near to the end of 2019 I'm shaken by some realizations. 10 years ago, in 2009, I was riding bikes almost daily, walking 5k distances 5 to 6 days a week, I was at my fittest literally since I can remember. While growing up I was always 'rail thin' I was never what I would call truly fit. After I had my oldest daughter and dropped to 98 pounds (at 5'9") I realized that I needed to do a little more to be fit and I started dancing (not structured) and trying to do more active stuff. By 1999 I was almost 200 pounds (thanks to two medications shutting down my metabolism - which I still fight against today) and absolutely miserable with myself. I got married in 2005 and had been trying for almost 2 years to seriously lose the weight. I didn't get to my fittest until I lost my job the end of 2008 and had nothing to do but work towards fitness. A year later I was pregnant at 38 and that was literally the beginning of my downward spiral to being almost as heavy as I was in 1999. 2 decade have passed and I cannot continue to allow myself to spiral downward. In just under 2 years I will be turning 50! I don't want to be miserable in my own skin at 50! I have to work with what I have and get myself back to being fit.

With all of that being said...it is time to start working on some challenges not just for myself and family but for all of you ladies! If you come up with an idea, PLEASE send it on. I know I will be doing walking challenges but I haven't decided what else yet. Let's enter the 2020s healthier than ever before!
